Madison Beer releases an enchanting music video for her “Reckless” single

Madison Beer is a pop star from Long Island, New York. Not too long ago, she released an enchanting music video for her “Reckless” single. The charismatic tune is Madison’s highest-week debut ever on Spotify with over four million streams.

Madison Beer – “Reckless” music video

“I drew a lot of inspiration from classic children’s book themes for this video. I wanted the world for ‘Reckless’ to feel both disorienting and familiar, like a nightmare where nothing is what it seems and there’s no way out. Those are exactly the emotions I’ve gone through in relationships that have turned sour. When someone you’ve given all your trust to betrays you, you feel like everything you’ve ever known was a lie.” – Madison Beer explained

In the video, directed by Madison and Amber Park, Madison navigates the confusion of a lover’s betrayal inside a surreal storybook world. The twisted fairytale is a melancholic but beautiful journey, with Madison emerging from the turmoil in the end as if awoken from a dream.

Furthermore, “Reckless” tells an unhappy tale about a young woman who remembers when her significant other revealed how important she was in his life. At that moment, he admitted that there were no other girls in his life except her. Unfortunately for her, he wasn’t telling the truth, and she ended up with a broken heart.

“You checked in and out of my heart like a hotel.”

“‘Reckless’ was written about how easy it is for some people in relationships to hurt others and move on without any guilt. People have so much power over their partner’s feelings, yet many still choose to treat each other carelessly. I believe there is a balance to putting ourselves and our feelings first while knowing we have the responsibility of treating people with respect, kindness, and consideration. It’s so important to find that balance in every relationship and knowing when to move on if you can’t.” – Madison Beer explained

‘Reckless’ contains a post-relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocalization, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of Ariana Grande, Charlotte Lawrence, and Olivia Rodrigo. The tear-jerky tune possesses moody instrumentation flavored with a warm sentimental pop vibration. Furthermore, “Reckless” is the first single to come from Madison Beer’s upcoming project, and it follows her debut album, Life Support (tickets on sale here). Plus, the song shadows the announcement of the US and Canada leg of Madison’s Life Support Tour.

“I still have the letter you wrote – when you told me that I was the only girl you’d ever want in your life. I guess my friends were right. Each day goes by and each night, I cry. Somebody saw you with her last night. You gave me your word, ‘Don’t worry ’bout her.’ You might love her now, but you loved me first. Said you’d never hurt me, but here we are. Oh, you swore on every star, how could you be so reckless with my heart?” – lyrics
