Helsinki University Hospital

HUS is Finland’s largest provider of healthcare services and the second largest employer with over 22 000 highly qualified professionals working at HUS 22 hospitals. Our expertise is highly ranked internationally. We produce services for almost 2,0 million residents, treat some half a million patients yearly and have nationwide responsibility in certain areas of specialist medical care.

HUS provides the largest health care training environment in Finland. Some 5,000 health care students receive training each year in HUS teaching hospitals. HUS is a significant provider of research in specialist medical care, medical science and drug development. HUS conducts approximately two thousand different medical and health care research projects on an ongoing basis.

HUS is a frontrunner in the development of user-centric digital services and data-based (using e.g. our Data Lake and Biobank) solutions that support preventive, predictive and personalized care. See section below for further information and examples.

Sant Joan de Déu Research Foundation

The Sant Joan de Déu Reseacrh Foundation aims to contribute to the improvement of people’s health and well-being by encouraging, supporting and coordinating research carried out in the Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Children’s Hospital (HSJD). SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital is a private, non-profit 3rd level university hospital.

Since 1867, our hospital has been dedicated to comprehensive care for women, children and adolescents, and has become one of the most important specialised paediatric centres in Europe. The hospital have a strong digital transformation strategy to go beyond the walls of the hospital building, the Liquid Hospital. In the AICCELERATE Project, HSJD is leaing 2 pilots in pediatric care for Congenital Heart Disease and Palliative Care patient care improvement.

The Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital (OPBG) is a Scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Health Care and also an Academic Medical Center. OPBG is the main paediatric Hospital and in Italy and provides third level health care for children while performing basic, clinical and translational research activities. OPBG is part of the Italian National Healthcare System and is widely recognized as referral centre for all paediatrics specialties at national and international level.

Today the Bambino Gesù is active in 12 countries, with the goal of providing care and passing on its experience in the poorest areas of the world.

SRDC Corp

SRDC Corp. was founded by a professional team of engineers in the Middle East Technical University (METU) Technopolis in 2007. SRDC Team has been actively working in e-health domain since 2003, by developing interoperable, standard based e-health applications that have been validated through field studies proving their added value to physicians, patients and health citizens.

SRDC has worked in different fields of e-health, including health data management and interoperability, chronic disease management, automation of clinical guidelines, clinical decision support systems, cross-border, cross-enterprise exchange of medical summaries, patient empowerment, personal health records, and pharmacovigilance. SRDC has coordinated many Framework Programmee-health projects and participated in several other international (FP6, FP7 and H2020) and national e-health projects.

SRDC is one of the main R&D partners in AICCELERATE project and is the leader of “WP1 Data Infrastructure” which focuses on designing and developing the data infrastructure for Smart Hospital Carepathway Engine (SHCP).

University of Padua

The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Unit and Centre for Rare Neurological Diseases (ERN-RND) operates at the Department of Neuroscience of the University of Padua, one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious seats of learning (est. in 1222). The Unit is composed of a large multidisciplinary team of neurologists, psychologists, bioengineers, clinical and laboratory researchers. The focus is translational research, from lab to clinic, to understand the underlying scientific mechanisms and to offer new treatments for patients.

The group’s mission encompasses: 1) patient care that is multidimensional and applicable to all phases and aspects of adult and pediatric movement disorders; 2) research with cutting-edge scientific studies; and 3) interaction with patient associations, families, and health care providers to enhance their education.

Our clinical and research programs include: Parkinson’s Disease; Progressive Sopranuclear Palsy, Multiple System Atrophy; Huntington’s Disease; Dystonia; Tourette syndrome and tic disorders; Fragile X-related disorders. We receive funding from the European Horizon 2020 programme, MIUR, Ministry of Health, Cariparo Foundation, pharmaceutical industry.
