On Sunday 28th November 2021, both Leicester Sai Centres recognised the great contribution the Audio Visual team made to the centre during the pandemic. As we all know back in March 2020 we had to stop our physical bhajans on Thursdays and Sundays. This team consisting of Zainesh, Karan, Nikesh, Dev and Bhavin immediately stepped up and provided us an opportunity to gather virtually through our virtual bhajans. The amount of effort and time required to put together an online virtual bhajan sessions was immense but they worked tirelessly often late into the night to make sure that every Sunday and Thursday we had a new virtual programme to connect with Swami.
They didn't stop with the virtual bhajans. They wanted to make the programmes more entertaining and interactive for all the devotees to participate in. So they introduced new ideas like online pujas, items from the SSE children and special events like the Sai Satcharitra readings - all of which we could participate in from home but made us feel like we were together. Again these took many, many hours to put together and many late nights of hard work.
For many of of us these online programmes were lifelines during possibly the darkest and hardest times in our lives. It is thanks to the hard work of these young adults that we were able to find some solace in these programmes and connect with Swami.
So I am sure you will agree that this special recognition is much deserved and we can rightly call these young adults our "centre heroes" during this Covid-19 pandemic. If you see them at the centre then do go and thank them and share your experience of the online programmes and what they meant to you during the pandemic. I'm sure they will appreciate it!
