    This is my first book by this author but after seeing the covers in this series, I had to read it!

    Add in secret society as well as Romeo/Juliet vibes and I was sold.

    Caspian and Tatum are 🔥

    Their chemistry is just… Ahhhh. You can feel it, they are absolutely made for each other. There were definitely some twists and turns that will take you by surprise.

    Definitely recommend checking this out.

    This book was captivating. I loved the characters. I wish we’d had a bit more world building for the secret society but it was well done. I really appreciated the specific trigger warnings at the start of the book AND at the start of the relevant chapters.
    - I wish we’d had more focus on the mothers
    - I really hope we see Tatum’s dad getting what he deserves in the next books.

    We are also introduced to a whole host of other characters setting things up for future books, but this one is not left on a cliffhanger. One character in particular has piqued my interest & I’m definitely curious to hear more about them. (I’m sure you’ll know who it is after you read the book 😏)

    Delaney hooks you in from the beginning and keeps you turning the pages until the very end. Tatum and Caspian meet when they are young children. Though there is a family feud between their two families they only have eyes for each other as they grow older. Caspian is very protective of Tatum and is always in the background protecting her from any danger. Every year on June 20 the secret society has a secret event every year. What will happen when these two enemies fall for each other will their families be accepting or the end of Tatum's and Caspian's friendship.
    Delaney takes you on a wild ride with this story with so many twists and turns you don't see coming. If you love a hot romance between a hot protective alpha male and a strong heroine who gives as good as she gets at times.

    Wow that’s what this book is just wow.
    Tatum has known some powerful men in her life but no one like Caspian, he took what he wanted and didn’t care about the consequences.
    Caspian knows all about the secrets his family keeps and knows that he has to keep his own to survive. Caspian always does what he has to, to get what is his, and Tatum is his nothing is going to get in his way.

    This is the first book I have read by this author but it definitely won’t be my last, it was pure brilliance!! If I didn’t have to adult for some of the day I wouldn’t have put it down, I was addicted from the start!

    Our two leads are Caspian and Tatum, they have know each other since they were kids (Tatum 6 and Caspian 10). Though we can’t say they were friends, their families hate each other but you know the good old saying ‘keep your friends close and enemies closer’ these families take that to a whole new meaning. Though Caspian sees he light within them and she is beautiful to him, always finding herself in dangerous situations and he can’t help but be her protector even when she hates him for it.

    Tatum is beautiful inside and out, she is the doting daughter who smiles when she is told and puts on a good act for the outside world all while feeling so alone.
    She doesn’t need to look around to know Caspian is there she can feel him, he is threaded to her mind body and soul. I loved how strong she was, how sassy and feisty! If anyone can put Caspian in his place it’s her. But after heartbreak will she open herself up to him again.

    Oh my holy smokes CASPIAN!! I am trip over my own feet in love with him, his darkness, his possessiveness and oh is he HOT! He has grown up in a world where his father is king and he is to take over that next, where nothing is unreachable.. well apart from one girl. He dares to believe he can have her for just one night and boy does that backfire.

    Okay let me just take a second to say OH MY GOODNESS can Delaney Foster write a kissing sense, the build up, the passion, the angst. I was sweating by the time their lips touched!

    I cant recommend this book more!! It’s a Romeo and Juliet retelling.. it’s heartbreaking, funny, filled with drama, twists and turns. And THE HEAT🥵🥵 unbelievable! Amazing!

Caspian and Tatum have always felt a connection with each other and he is her protector and would do anything for her. They start to become more intimate with their feelings and then tragedy strikes. Their story is fast-paced, angsty, dynamic, sexy and thrilling! Caspian is swoonworthy in his devotion to Tatum and I loved the tension and passion they had for each other. I wish this book was a little longer only because I enjoyed it so much. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
    Side Note: Although I understand why trigger warnings on darker romances are given for those that are more sensitive to certain topics (I am not but I know others may be), I think it was a bit much to have it in the beginning of a couple chapters. It just kind of took me out of the moment and felt a little spoilery. In my opinion, a warning provided in the beginning of a book seems sufficient enough.
