Layla

Blue eyes through a windshield. That was all I saw before he hit me with his car.

When I woke up in the hospital, I was shocked to find Mr. Blue Eyes there in all his GQ glory—and even more surprised that he was willing to watch over me while I recovered.

See, Cole was my polar opposite. Even though I had agreed to help him sort out his family issues, falling for him was never part of the plan.

Too bad planning was never my strong suit…

Cole

The way we met? Classic bad timing. But she was exactly what I needed.

Because if I wanted to break free of my family’s demands forever, I needed my inheritance. And the only way to get that was to marry.

A marriage of convenience to the tattooed free spirit I had hit with my car could solve all my problems.

Falling in love with her, however, could cause so many new ones. Logically, I knew that.

But when it came to Layla, my heart didn’t care at all about logic—or Bad Timing…

When Cole comes crashing into Layla's life sparks fly!

Cole Winchester needs to be married by his next birthday in order to gain control of his trust fund and now that his back up plan has fallen through he's not sure what he's going to do. Well that was until the beautiful tatted and pierced Layla Tompkin walks in fronts of his car and he hits her.

This isn't a Love at First Sight story but there is an instant connection, what I loved most was that even though Cole grew up well off he didn't let that cloud his judgement of people. Layla is raising her younger brother and working hard to keep a roof over their heads but she is a proud woman and doesn't want charity so it was fun watching Cole try to do nice things for her.

If you enjoy Opposite Attract Romances, Fake Relationship Romances, or enjoy stories with a strong female main character this book is for you.

Happy Reading!!!

I finished reading Layla and Cole's story in just a few hours. Their story pulled me in right away and I thoroughly enjoyed it because of the storyline. It's so different from the previous marriage of convenience stories I've read. Because these two planned to get married for convenience but they fall in love before they could get married. From the cover, you can tell they're complete opposites but they're perfect together. I loved it and their story until the very end.

An accident could lead you to love.

I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable with a couple of exceptions. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Cole’s parents completely needed some comeuppance and that was something I really wanted to see. I wish that we got to know what happened with his trust as well. Cole was hard for me because I wanted him to stand up for himself but he was so wonderful with Layla and making sure that she didn’t undervalue herself. Layla and Cole met by accident and Cole was determined to help her even though she didn’t want his charity. Layla and Cole hit it off so much that Cole asked Layla for her help. Cole’s friend’s and Layla were comfortable around each other. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

Having read Ms.Leigh's work a couple of times before i've been looking forward to picking up more of her work! The moment this one was announced it caught my eye right away and i added it to my TBR List! I so enjoyed this story!

Layla and Cole's journey pulled me in from the start! The way these two meet was definitely unique and i couldn't wait to see how things would play out for them. I was so glad that i got to get into their minds. I really enjoyed their banter so much! The chemistry between these two was great!

This book was a breath of fresh air. I got sucked in so fast, before I knew it, I was half way in and itching to finish. The mix between Layla’s spitfire personality, and Cole’s laid back demeanor was the perfect collaboration. It’s sexy, funny, and hot and steamy in all the right places! A classic case of bad timing…or was it!!
Kristie out did herself with this one. Just when I think I have a favorite, her words explode into her next best read!

Layla and Cole are so fricken cute! These two are two polar opposite’s but they fit in every way!

This is a very unconventional story because there’s no meet cute is more of a meet disaster but it’s during that disaster that we see how warm and loving Cole truly is! Layla is stubborn but she’s a fighter and it’s that fight that just hooks Cole!

I loved their interactions and how they built such a loving bond with one another! They truly helped and understood one another!

A very funny yet romantic story!

I loved EVERYTHING about this fun book! The characters were amazing! The story was hilarious! The ending was perfection! The steam left me wanting more!

This may be my new favorite opposites attract romance! Cole and Layla couldn’t be more different but also couldn’t be more perfect for each other. Cole is from money and the world of money. Layla is a tattooed beauty baker making it paycheck to paycheck. They meet when he accidentally hits her with his car and insists on caring for her while she recovers. Layla is HILARIOUS!! She isn’t afraid to be honest and be herself which is something Cole comes to love about her.

Cole is about to warn his inheritance from his grandfather, but he has to get married first. His parents are happy to arrange for a bride, but Cole decides Layla may be the better fit. He enjoys her company and as they spend more time together, he can see himself being really happy with her. His parents have a different idea and will make this as difficult as possible for them. The way this comes together at the end is FABULOUS! So funny and exactly what I would have hoped for from this couple.

I loved everything about this book. Cole is a wonderful character. He may be from money but he doesn’t act like it. In fact he wants out of that world. His feelings for Layla were the absolute sweetest. I loved how he displayed them with friends and I just knew he was falling for her. Layla is awesome!!! She’s so confident in herself and doesn’t mince words or hold back her thoughts. I adored her! Their friends were great characters as well! Hadley was awesome as Cole’s best friend that quickly becomes Layla’s best friend. Her friendship with each of them was definitely friendship goals! Also everything about this book felt so real. I love the way Layla dealt with a broken heart, it was so realistic. We don’t shower, we wallow. So go even include describing how foul she smelled was so real. I can’t recommend this book enough. It was so much fun to read and I would definitely read it again and again!!

the good thing abt this book was its flow

bad things -

-needs proof reading by experienced editor
- MFC is portrayed as a badass with tattoos but is extremely self conscious of them!
- the story starts with MMC wanting to get away from his parent's thumb, plans on getting married for convenience with his childhood frnd but eventually marries the love of her life, leaving her bestie to find a replacement. fine till here. but the ending!!! mannn!!!!! one wld think the story wld end with how the MMC managed to find not only love but successfully get away from his parents! that part ends at wedding! i was looking fwd to how the parents wld react when they realised that he didnt need their support in any kind! the story ends with MFC's pov! wtf! i guess its just me, but if ur entire plot revolves around something, please finish it satisfactorily!
-MFC is shown as this strong logical heroine but the min her future evil MIL lies to her, she blindly believes her & breaks up with a guy who has been nothing but the best boyfriend anyone could ever imagine! just because he didnt tell her that he loves her! but he does, she just doesn't take him seriously! neither does she takes into account his action nor does the idiot read the freaking documents in front of her, let alone checking the place out! it was quite frustrating!

overall i wld have given it a 3 rating but the second half of the book just annoyed the crap outta me!
read it for the story flow if you are below 30 & have recently picked up romance genre.

In the beginning of Bad Timing, Cole makes a marriage pact with his friend Hadley. This seemed a little odd as pretty soon it's clear that Hadley is not who he will end up with. Hadley gets engaged to someone else, and Cole needs to find somebody else to marry to access his inheritance. His parents want to match him up with some kind of Stepford wife but when Cole has a traffic accident and meets Layla he comes up with Plan B. Tattooed and broke Layla is the opposite of what his parents want for him, but that's part of her charm. Initially their engagement is an arrangement of convenience but pretty soon it turns into more. But his parents try their best to sabotage their relationship.

This was nicely written and quite entertaining but I felt like it was always clear that Cole's parents were up to no good, and after they were rude to Layla at the first meeting Cole should not have let his mother have anything to do with the wedding planning afterwards. Under no circumstances should mother dearest have been left alone with Layla. Bowing to his mother's wishes so long and not protecting Layla made Cole look weak. Why not just get married without his parents' involvement? But I guess it would have spoiled the plot.

Great story written by Kristie! Loved it and couldn't put it down! 5 stars for this one!
Cole's parents are trying to find the perfect wife for him so he can get hi inheritance, the only problem is, they are looking in all the wrong places. They want him with someone who fits in with their social standing, and that's not what he wants, he's tired of the shallow women that only see the dollar signs when they look at him. So while driving, as a woman, Layla, steps off the curb and he hits her, it's like the Gods have sent her to him.
All Layla remembers seeing are the bluest eyes she's ever seen. Next thing, she's in the hospital, and there are those eyes again. She knows he's out of her league but her heart wants what it wants! He brings her to his house to make sure she's taken care of after the accident, and she's the exact opposite of what his parents want for him.
Can he make her fit into his world, or would he rather she just be who she is and marry her? Grab this one and find out!

This was a really awesome story. It was the first time I read this author, but I was really impressed, and I plan to read more from her back list.

It stars Cole and Layla. Cole is not feeling the greatest as he is being forced to marry to keep his job and inheritance. He was going to marry one of his best friends, but she is getting engaged to a fellow friend. When he makes a mistake and runs over Layla.

Feeling bad he takes care of her and ends up meeting a very different woman than he had ever met before. He is caviar and social events, and she is tats and piercings but when they meet, he changes her life, and she changes his life.

This was a really fun story filled with romance between prince charming and his down on her luck princess. It's a story about love, friendship, family and finding your special someone and looking beyond the book cover. It was a wonderfully light heartwarming, story, and I absolutely adored every minute of it.

I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Bad Timing may be the title of this story, but by the time Kristie Leigh spun her web around it, bad timing was not at all what this was.

Cole and Layla jump off the pages as two people from opposite tracks that end up running into each other…sort of. Both are strong and smart, and both have heavy baggage they carry with them. But under no circumstances do they let those issues stop them on their personal missions to success. Sprinkle in friends and family and you have a modern-day life event.

Oddly, what they don’t realize is, they have more in common than they realize. Of course, unwarranted challenges can create concerns and concerns can create doubts, etc. For me, how the characters dealt with their issues was heartwarming. This author pulls the strings for sure.

If you are looking for a story that will keep you enthralled, Cole and Layla will have your attention from beginning to end. Today is a good time for Bad Timing to land on your doorstep.

Great job Kristie and worth all the stars.

It was a good book and I liked it. There was something however, that I couldn't move past. When his mother told her he bought a house, she made a big deal out of it. For starters, she knows his matter is manipulative snake and everything she says is more than it what it seems. Second, they talk about their future and he never showed her anything other than what he said wasn't the true, that man worshipped the ground she walked on, he deserved a lot more faith than that. And finally, she didn't give a chance to explain anything, just assumed and the poor was left without a word. His mother told him stuff too and he didn't believe her, that's the kind of faith she should had had. And then, he was the only one who tried to understand what happened and made an effort. This was all so messed up, it really got on my nerves. If it wasn't for this scene, I would have liked the book so much more but Layla lost a lot of my respect for her when she did that. She's strong, independent, out spoken, confident, bad*ss and when she goes and does that, she wasn't the woman I thought she was

When Cole and Rachel collide the sparks fly on impact. In order for Cole to gain control of his trust fund he has to be married by his next birthday and his backup plan fell through so he doesn't know what he's going to do yet. That changes when the hot, pierced, and tattooed Layla steps in front of his car and he hits her. After hitting her he is intent on taking care of her he feels a connection to the beautiful woman so he throws out the idea of a fake relationship so he can get his family off his back and get his inheritance win-win. Talk about opposites Layla is a tigress she has a fiery personality and Cole is laid-back and relaxed but they really work well together. They have amazing chemistry that is undeniable. You really need to read this steamy story to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

For me this had an opposites attract vibe, and a bit of separate worlds. Which I loved, I got sucked in quickly to the story of Cole and Layla. Two very different people who turn out to be perfect for each other.

Cole needs to marry to receive his inheritance by a certain birthday. That birthday is coming, and his parents are hoping to hook him up with a female of their choosing. He doesn't want that, enter Layla. She is stepping off the curb and he hits her. Of course he wants to make sure she is okay. Which considering she is and the seem to connect. Before you know Layla knows of his dilemma and she comes up with a plan. They get married, he is for it and so they embark on that plan together. Along the way, despite some small bumps they realize. That they want more than a temporary marriage. It is a sweet, fun story of love when you least expect it.

This book was adorable! There were are lot of things that I liked about it such as opposites attract, fake dating/marriage, an interesting meet cute, and a pretty freaking awesome main man! There were a couple of things that didn't really mesh super well for me, but did not affect the overall story too much and made it a super fun read! I am always down for fake dating and Layla and Cole are two VERY different people, so watching their connection grow really made the story for me. It was sweet, spicy, and oh so entertaining reading!

All in all if you are looking for a book that will put a smile on your face and is super fun to read, I totally recommend you checking this book out! I give it 4 outta 5 stars and definitely enjoyed reading it!

PS: Thank you to Kristie Leigh and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!

Cole has to be married by age 25 to get his inheritance. His original plan has gone awry, and now he's in a bind. He meets Layla when he hits her with his car. Their fake marriage has a huge bonus - his parents hate her. And when his mother interferes just a bit too much, they set in place a terrific plan to foil her. Cole has had every advantage in life, but hates so much of it. Layla stuggles, but doesn't take charity, preferring to earn everything she has in life. They're comfortable with each other almost immediately. The best thing about Layla is that she doesn't take any crap from Cole, dishing back to him everything he sends her way and then some. The author's books are always to much fun to read, and Bad Timing is no exception. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The blurb sold me on this book and I loved the cover. This is the first book I've read by this author and I can tell you won't be the last. I'm so glad I read this one. Layla and Cole had me gobbling up the pages. They may seem like opposites on paper, but once you see them together the make sense and fit like puzzle pieces. Their first meeting is quite memorable. Maybe it's not bad timing after all. I loved the banter between Cole and Layla. Layla fits Cole so well because she doesn't let him get away with things and teases him. I felt for Cole. His family is scum and they don't deserve a son like Cole. One of my favorite parts of the book is the friendship between Layla and Hadley. This book had a lot of heart, but also delivered on the humor and heat. I would so recommend this book!

Just when I thought Kristie’s last book was my favorite she hits me with Bad Timing. This story is her best work to date. We get to meet Cole and Layla. Two polar opposite people who fall in love. This story is about Cole needing to be free from his family and Layla a tattooed, free spirited person that gets hits by a car that Coke is driving. He takes care of her and He talks her into getting married to help him break free from the family and get his inheritance. Falling in love is something that they didn’t see coming. But can they survive Mrs. Winchester? Coles hateful, heartless mother? This is a easy, fun and hot read. Love will always win in the end!!!

I was not mad about it! I liked this book a lot.

Cole was hot and a total loved.
Layla was feisty and I’m hottttt for her lol

I love Hadley and Aiden. Both should get a novella lol especially Aiden

Coles parents are twats the end!

Also Kristie tell us what tattoo Cole gets we at least need this from you!

When Cole hits Layla with his car, he is determined to take care of her, and he proposes a fake relationship to get his inheritance and keep his family off his back. These two are opposites as Layla is a little spitfire, and Cole is relaxed and easy going, but they complement each other perfectly, and the chemistry between them is combustible and undeniable. This is a well written flawless story which is fun, sweet, light-hearted, with humor, witty banter, emotions, and love, which leads to a steamy all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I was actually not expecting to like this as much as I did. Normally with a new author I’m always cautious.

This was a great fake relationship/ opposites attract story. Right from the beginning I was expecting some drama with Cole’s female bff.

Layla was a great FL, her take no shit attitude was well written and not over the top.

Cole and Layla where great together. I loved watching them fall in love, fast! I loved watching their story unfold and get the HEA in the end. What I also loved was Cole, he was no pushover when it came to what he wanted and fought till the end.

Great read if you want a fun, lighthearted read without all the added angst.

Cole and Layla really do start their story with a bang. And even though they are the cutest opposites attract, I think Cole was all in from the moment he first laid eyes on Layla. I love that Layla is so comfortable in her own skin and I love her sarcastic mouth and I love how strong and determined she is to stand on her own two feet. I love that Cole has the strength to be his own person no matter how his parents have tried to mold him. I love Hadley and Adain and all the fam and friends except Cole's mom and dad. 4.5 stars.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Cole and Layla are brought together by an accident. They have different backgrounds and family situations. After she is hurt, he tries to take care of her but Layla is usually the one taking care of people. They do agree to a fake relationship to help him out. She and Cole develops feelings for each other that makes things more real. It is a good story about two people who find love where they least expect it.

Cole and Layla are beautifully written characters in this fun, LOL at times romance. They are straight opposites of each other, but their chemistry is spot on. The relationship starts out as fake but they start to grow feelings. With interference from his parents, will they be able to have a HEA? I recommend reading this book to find out.
