Roux Cantrell resides in Hammond LA a cozy college town with her husband. Juggling a full time job as a stylist, a growing family, Roux manages to throw some pretty outlandish Halloween parties where the attendees must adorn a costume to gain entrance and she even manges one motorcycle trip on her Harley once a year.

Her love of books started when she was very young and has never wavered. Years past she didn't have the time to write with a growing family, now with the kids grown and out of the house she writes her own adventures.

Phoenix (Charlie Picard) was in a motorcycle accident when she was younger with her dad ( which he died ) now from the drama , she is left a mute due to her throat being injured. Raised by her uncle Declan which was strained. She returns home after finishing college. Trying to have a relationship with him. He owns a bike shop and she starts to work for him and lives in an apartment above it. She’s got two bff’s ( Viper and Jack) that she would do anything for. On the side of the road one day , she’s mistaken as a guy and now is hanging out with an Enforcer from an MC called The Road Devils. Ash is hot AF and a badass. He befriends Phoenix (now being called Nix.) she’s trying now to figure out the truth about the passed , while not being outed as a woman. Do you think she will be able to? Read this book and find out. Roux Cantrell did man amazing job with this book. Can’t wait what lies ahead for this wonderful author.

    Phoenix returns home to her Uncle Declan’s place and must act like a guy to be able to work in his garage because the bikers would not want a woman touching their bikes. (Insert eye roll here).
    This book has lots of twists and turns, mysteries to solve and a lot of steam.
    It just needs some TLC to make it better.

    Phoenix Rising is the first book in The Road Devils MC Series and it’s off to a fantastic start. Phoenix was in an accident when she was young that left her with a disability, the same accident where she lost her father. She was raised by her uncle Declan, and he sent her away to boarding schools in order to keep her away from the MC. Now, after graduating college she’s headed home to her uncle. While there things take a crazy turn when she learns info about her father’s death, and then she’s mistaken as a man by Ash, the Sgt. at arms of the Road Devils MC. I loved this story and it’s filled with danger, suspense, drama, twists and turns, and plenty of steam. Highly recommend.

    Roux Cantrell is a new to me author. Was definitely different than what I usually read. There was lots of suspense and action with MC club members secretly stirring up trouble trying to start a war. And our main character trying to keep her identity hidden from everyone.

    This is Charlie’s (aka Phoenix) story and how she returned home to her uncle’s place and was determined to find out what really happened to her dad. Masquerading as a male biker and mechanic help to her uncle she began easing into the local MC club and getting close to their Sargent at Arms Ash. Tensions increase when she’s caught in the middle of a fight and her secret is found out, causing Phoenix and Ash to fight their own war.

    All in all this was a really good book, frustrating but good. Would have loved to read more about Phoenix and Ash. I’m hoping there will be a book two because the ending was a bit open ended to leave you satisfied enough and heartbreakingly sad as there was no HEA for Ash and Phoenix. Not to mention the bomb drop of who the Club’s top dog was. And what happens now? I neeeeeeeed more!! This book does start out FF but gradually moves to MF when Ash and Phoenix’s relationship builds to more.

    After being away and living her life to the fullest, Charlie (Phoenix) wants to reconnect with her uncle and work at his garage, and to find out more about her father’s death.
    Phoenix knows that she hides behind being Nix, knowing that she needs answers, and they won’t give them to a woman, but when she finds out more than she ever expected things take a serious twist.
    Ash knows something is going on with the club, but he needs someone to have his back and Nix has done it more than once, and he can’t shake what he feels about Nix, with Nix being a guy.
    Nix has been keeping secrets, secrets that will change everything what happens when Ash finds out that Nix the man is really Phoenix the woman. Will she ever get the answers she wants.
    Can wait for the next book to see what happens.

    Phoenix Rising was one complex novel… In the best possible way!

    Phoenix and Ash were pure fire.

    Phoenix is a woman much like the mythical creature she was named after. When forced to be two people to discover the truth, she’s willing to burn anything and anyone in her way. Except Ash.

    Ash is the enforcer of a badass MC club. He takes what he wants and doesn’t involve his heart. Until Phoenix. And it eats at him.

    His feelings for Phoenix are confusing and utterly unwanted but undeniable.

    The supporting characters are very well-developed and leave you yearning for more.

    I also love the cross over characters from Roux Cantrell’s previous books!

    For lovers of MC romance, Phoenix Rising is a not to be missed story of what one can only hope is the beginning of an enticing new series.
