Plugin of the Month: Publisher Media Kit – An amazing WordPress plugin to digitize your media kit

  • Reviews, Plugins

We are happy to introduce our WP-Content.co Plugin of the Month – Publisher Media Kit, from the house of 10up – the company that needs no introduction in WordPress circles. Trying out this plugin was a pleasure because it is very user-friendly and does not have myriads of head-spinning settings that some plugins have.

Publisher Media Kit Plugin

Publisher Media Kit provides a quick and easy option for small to medium-sized publishers to digitize their media kit. If you are a publisher hoping for a page with international standards but do not have the human resources or money to spare, then this plugin is for you.

The plugin adds a new “Media Kit” page, block patterns, and placeholder content that can then be customized to fit your need (e.g., text, links, colors, images, adding page link to site footer).

Be warned! This is one of those deceptively simple plugins about which there is nothing much to write about but does the job perfectly well.

Trying out Publisher Media Kit

The plugin can be downloaded and installed from the WordPress repository. Once activated, the plugin automatically creates a new “Media Kit” draft page on the website with pre-defined eight patterns and a Tabs block.

The users can either use the templates as such and add their content or customize it according to their needs and publish it.

The plugin currently has 2 blocks – Tabs and Publisher Media Kit.

I found this minimalistic plugin very refreshing and I’m sure that it will be very helpful to those managing small websites and has no technical skills to boast of.

Compatibility with other Themes

The 10up team has tested the plugin with several themes including Twenty Twenty-One, Newspack base theme and several Newspack child themes. I tested it with Twenty Twenty-One and it worked perfectly.

Conclusion

This plugin may be new but will be a great help to you if you are in the publishing business. I am sure that we can expect more such plugins in the future, thanks to the block system which has made possible this plugin too. In the not-so-distant future, themes may soon be a thing of the past.
