D’Sound and Shontelle release an appealing music video for their “Necessary Love” single

D’Sound (Ofstad and Jonny Sjo) is a neo-soul band from Oslo, Norway. Shontelle is a Barbadian singer-songwriter known for her “Impossible” and “T-shirt” singles. Not too long ago, they released an appealing music video for their “Necessary Love” single.

D’Sound and Shontelle – “Necessary Love” video

“Baby, you put a zig-zag right through my heart. Boy, was I dumb from the start? Why did I get even involved after all? Every time you try to patch it up with your phone calls. Baby, I know you’re a fraud. Why did I get involved after all? Do you have to go out and do all the things that you do? Tell me is that necessary love, is that necessary love? To make me go out to act up, boy, you look like a fool. Tell me, is that necessary love?” – lyrics

‘Necessary Love’ tells an intriguing tale about a woman who regrets getting into a relationship with her significant other. Apparently, he doesn’t value her as she values him. Also, him playing Tic-tac-toe with her heart prompts her to question their relationship, “Why did I get involved from the start?” Later, she tells him, “Every time you’d pull up in your drop-top, Baby, I know you’re with her.”

‘Necessary Love’ contains a troubled relationship-based narrative, ear-pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies that will resonate well with fans of Rihanna, Jordin Sparks, and Nicole Scherzinger. The likable tune possesses vibrant instrumentation flavored with contemporary R&B, neo-soul, and electro-pop elements. Furthermore, “Necessary Love” is the second single from D’Sound’s 25th-anniversary collab album, entitled, “25,” set to be released on January 21, 2022. The first single, “Save Some,” came out in May 2021 with Grammy winner and R&B legend, Macy Gray.

“You keep making it hard to breathe.”
