Love in the End Zone

Rate this book
Pro quarterbacks regularly face tough linemen determined to knock them down—but for one hotshot athlete, it was an infuriating blonde who stood the best chance of laying him on his back.

I was one of the top quarterbacks in the league, riding high after scoring a lucrative deal with the DC Rockets. Fans adored me, sponsors wanted me, and women, well, they were eager to date me. Except my life revolved around football, not falling in love.

Until I saw her.

I’d just scored the winning touchdown, sending the Rockets into the playoffs and ending the Virginia Thunder’s season. I spiked the ball and basked in the fans’ cheers. I’d done it. But then I took off my helmet and locked eyes with a gorgeous blonde.

She wasn’t cheering. Instead, she stood with her arms crossed, glaring at me. I smirked and winked, hoping to soften her murderous expression. Except it had the opposite effect. Rather than smiling back, she lifted her hand and extended her middle finger before disappearing into the crowd.

That was unexpected.

After my press conference, I couldn’t stop thinking about the woman in the stands. It didn’t help that social media had turned our interaction into a meme, and then I found out that the beauty was none other than Reese Parker, granddaughter of Charles Reese, owner of the Virginia Thunder. Which explained her reaction… sort of.

I should have been preparing for the playoffs, but all I wanted to do was convince her I wasn’t enemy number one—and that scoring with me would be her best move.

Reese and Trent were A-DOR-ABLE!!! What a delightful, quick and fun-to-read sports-related romance. The only thing wrong with this story is that it ended way too soon. Such a cute plot with just enough angst to add some gasps and frowns. The banter was a field goal and the chemistry between the hunky quarterback and his leading lady while mostly behind closed doors was a steamy conversion -- but the game was one touchdown after another for a BIG SCORE.

Carina has once again given us a swoon worthy leading man in Trent Archer and a sassy independent leading lady with Reese Parker.
Reese's family owns a football team, it is in her blood, and she loves the game so when a man she feels has wronged her in the past is playing her team she takes her spot in the end zone. Trent Archer is the DC Rockets Quarterback, and he is about to fake a play to win the game when he sees her in the end zone and let's just say she is not his biggest fan.
In this enemies to lover's tale, we watch how Reese shows us how to win a man in one easy step, just kidding. She certainly did get his attention when she stood in the end zone arms crossed and ready for war. She stands her ground he winks and then does a kissy move, so she responds the best way she knows how, with the bird. They soon become an internet sensation whether they like it or not. Trent never backs down from a challenge and Reese is that and so much more.
He soon shows up everywhere and he will not back down till they talk it out. Now the more time they spend together the more the enemies, friends, dating line becomes blurred.
Get ready to swoon, laugh and be thoroughly entertained with this sweet, sexy, flirty romance. The couple has wonderfully smart witty banter and off the chart's palpable chemistry! They also have a fabulous supporting cast that I can't wait to get to know a little better!!

Whoa, women don't usually react like that to Trent. The glare. The finger. Yeah, the gorgeous woman obviously hates him and famed QB Trent wants to know why. Wants to know why so he can set about changing her mind and to get her in his life. He didn't realize just who she was to his sport, or that he'd have to work seriously hard to change her mind about him. Will Reese ever see inside to the truth of him?

Reese loves her family's football heritage. She doesn't work for them, but she loves it, loves the game. Trent is a guy who doesn't have a good rep with her family, and she's held a grudge ever since. But letting her displeasure with him goad her into publicly expressing it was perhaps not a good idea. Now she's on his (and the public's) radar, and the man is set on getting to know her. When she finds he's not really the man she had thought, will she allow him into her heart? Or will he always remain the object of her grudge?

Reese and Trent are the kind of enemies to lovers I like best - witty, snarky antagonistic tension that's just masking serious attraction that turns to deeper feelings. Sassy, feisty and smart Reese is the standout with her smart stats geek brain and fierce loyalty and love for her family. Trent isn't really the jerk he seemed to be, is actually a swoon worthy loving man hiding behind his reputation. The way he and Reese fell in love made for the very best kind of enemies to lovers romance, and I can only wish I could read more about them.

If you love sports romance, Love in the End Zone by Carina Rose is a must read for you! This enemies to lovers romance is witty and sexy and emotional. I loved Trent and Reese's flirty, sizzling hot and swoonworthy chemistry. It was fast paced, well written and overall, an excellent entertainer.

Reese Parker loves her grandfather and their family team Virginia Thunders. And that's why she hate Trent Archer, the c0cky quarterback star of DC Rockets. There is history that makes her despise Trent. But her one finger gesture to Trent after Thunders losing a match to Rockets becomes a viral meme. And Trent has to know who this blonde bombshell is. They slowly becomes friend and Reese realises that she misunderstood Trent. But their budding relationship is rocked by an unfortunate injury that will change Trent's career. What will he choose?

Reese is a firecracker. I just love this woman. She is proud and fierce and has a strong sense of right and wrong. She doesn't hold back her opinions. She is a stat geek and I love how much she loves the game. She is into the game for the love of the game. Not the players. Not the glamour or money or fame. She isn't hesitant to accept that she was wrong about Trent. And when she loves, she does so wholeheartedly. Trent is superficially an arrogant playboy jock but as the story goes, I understand that it's more like gossip. He is gorgeous, charming and a killer sense of humor. He has a very kind and generous heart. Talk about melting heart and panties. They have this easy flirty energy from the beginning that was so fun to read. And the author went into deep side of feels too. The injury brought a lot of doubts and confusions. They were in this emotional turmoil as they were fighting for an uncertain future. There were fleeting moments of heartbreak and that only consolidated their love. I loved how sports played a very significant part of the story and was the core driving force. I am so excited to read more stories in this world. This is my first Carina Rose story but won't be the last.

When most people hear the name Trent Archer they get stars in their eyes, Reese on the other hand gets instantly irritated. He did her family wrong a few years back and she will never forgive him for it... no matter how much time passes.

After a unsavory gesture from her catches his attention, as well as the media's, Trent is dead set on meeting the woman behind the finger and find out why she despises him so much. But little does he know he's barking up the wrong tree, there is no forgiveness to be had when it comes to Reese and her thoughts on him. It's a rivalry she doesn't plan on letting go of anytime soon, no matter how handsome and convincing he may be!

The pages of Love in the End Zone hold a wickedly entertaining and heart-squeezing enemies-to-lovers story that should not be missed! The moment these two wander onto the page you will fall under their spell, both having likeable personalities that will draw you in, and a feud that is bound to keep you captivated the whole way through. The tension, banter, mild distaste, and white hot chemistry they share brings out the best, and sometimes worst, in them... they really are the perfect pairing! I loved watching them mend fences and find their happily ever after, their delightfully penned love story warmed my heart and left a smile on my face! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

4 star Review Love In The End Zone by Carina Rose

Carina Rose is a new author to me and I am surprised that I have not come across her books before. From the moment that DC Rockets quarterback Trent Archer locked eyes with Reese Parker he felt the sparks fly between them.

Learning that Reese is the granddaughter of the team’s owner that his touchdown just knocked out of the playoffs and also the team that he rejected an offer from, he doesn't believe it will go further.

I was drawn into the story that Ms.Rose wove, the characters were engaging and easy to relate too as were the supporting characters. Trent is focused on his career and really has no time for love.

However Reese and her reaction intrigues him and despite knowing it is not a good idea, he tries to show her that he could be the man for her. I really enjoyed the fact that Trent had to work to convince Reese to take a chance and their journey was entertaining.

Will he be able to convince Reese? One click and find out.

This is the first book I have read by Carina Rose but it certainly won’t be the last.
Love in the End is DC Rockets Quarterback Trent Archer and Reese Parker’s captivating journey and I’m sure it’s a story that will appeal to a wide range of audiences.
From the moment these two met sparks fly but learning Reese is the granddaughter of the team he just knocked out of the playoffs has Trent believing there is no future for them. Problem is he can’t get her out of his mind and that means proving he is the man she wants and needs in her life. So will Reese give Trent a chance, I guess you need to read the book to find that out.
This book ticked my boxes, I loved the characters and I was captivated by their story, I was drawn in from the first few pages and there was no putting down until the final line had been read. I’m also now looking forward to reading more by this very talented author.

As an Alpha Beta Reader (don’t hate) I get to meet, fall in love with, and CLAIM some pretty sexy book boyfriends way before the rest of the romance world gets to. And I did just that with Trent Archer. But now that the rest of the said “romance world” are getting to meet him as well, and gush over what a great story Love in the End Zone is, my possessiveness is kicking in.

I loved this book, loved Reese as a female heroine, and REALLY LOVED Trent! If you want to get lost in a book that brings all the feels, this delightful story by Carina Rose is the one. But keep in mind, I’m sharing him temporarily as TRENT is indeed mine. #SorryNotSorry

Oh, and by the way… book 2 in this duet, Married to the Tight End is coming in May, and all of the above stands for Trent’s best friend Jackson. Add it to your TBR because you’ll want to become acquainted to this sexy tight end. (*insert wink)

This was my first time reading Carina Rose and it definitely won’t be the last! This was a fun, easy read and I’m looking forward to seeing more from this world.

Reese and Trent were such a fun couple to read. I love that Reese was happy to stand up to Trent despite him being the big football star. As the story went on I loved getting to see more and more of Trent’s softer, caring side.

DNF 50%.
The characters didn’t have any depth whatsoever. I went into the book knowing that it was a light read, but in the end the writing wasn’t for me. The main character Reese just gave me the impression of “I’m not like other girls” while Trent was feeding into the narrative cause she knew football stats and hated him. Don’t get me wrong, it was cute but it was too fast pace for my liking. I wish the enemies part would have been longer and that characters were built better from the begging. Good, just not for me.

Love in the End Zone is yet another charmer from the talented Carina Rose. A total swoon-fest with the right amount of wit and heartfelt moments, I fell just as hard for Trent Archer as did his former enemy, Reese Parker. Right from the start, these two have fab chemistry as they find themselves in a spotlight they didn't expect once a meme spreads across social media that is both hysterical and dare I say simply adorable. But what the star quarterback and the owner's granddaughter of his rival team don't realize is that no matter what the press may say or what leads them to be in each other's lives, whether intentional or not, there is no way they'll be able to resist each other for long. And I'm happy to say they don't!

Oh my. I have to say that this was my second read-through after being lucky enough to beta read this baby for Rose. And I just loved every minute of this smartly-written rom-com that warmed my heart even more so than her last book. Just the way Trent decides he needs to know more about the feisty Ms. Parker, astounded at her brain and how she knows football statistics like she's reciting poetry was as sigh-worthy as it gets for me. It's even sexier to him and his reactions to her vast knowledge of his beloved game only endeared her to him more than he ever thought possible.

Then there is the way Trent takes his time with Reese, chipping away at her preconceived notion of him and of what happened during his draft and also an incident back in college. He is thoughtful, caring, and a man very much like her dear Granddad, who loves fiercely and takes care of his own. Once Reese's defenses were down a bit, and honestly, who could resist the wicked hawt Trent is anyone's guess at this point, they just fit so well together, whether it was enjoying a bit of ax-throwing, a game of pool, or watching her beloved romance movies. Although they've only known each other for a short amount of time, I have to think both Reese and Trent knew this wasn't just a fleeting little love affair. This was the real deal and I was beyond happy that they survived a few missteps and found their soulmate in one another.

This latest from Carina Rose is again light on naughty moments but they are not missed one bit. The sharp banter and tender times between Reese and Trent are enough to fill my heart with all the goodness of real love and those fade to black scenes are perfectly executed and appreciated completely by this reader. Not to mention the support from besties Alexa and Jackson, who round out this delightful story with their flirty nature and deep affection for their friends, AND who may just get their own story told next (!).

When looking for a sweeter kind of love story that isn't cheesy nor over the top silly, grab Love in the End Zone or any title, really, from Carina Rose. It will undoubtedly make you feel wonderful as you smile from ear to ear.

Love In The End Zone is the first book in A Never Say Never Football Romance series by Carina Rose. This was my first book by this author but certainly not the last. This was sweet, charming, fun and a swoon worthy story, easy read that just captures you from the beginning. I thoroughly enjoyed every single page of it, and never wanted it to end. It is very well written and developed with the simple and powerful storytelling. The characters are complex, relatable; the plot is strong and it captures reader’s attention immediately.

Reese and Trent lit the pages with their undeniable chemistry and feelings that they developed towards each other. I liked them from the moment they met. What a meet cute that was! At the beginning Reese really disliked Trent having her reasons and presumptions. They are both cautious, not wanting to get hurt. As they get to know each other and start spending time together their feelings and connection grow. Their chemistry is off the charts. They are both flawed and complex. Trent is so protective, possessive, fun loving yet sweet and serious. Reese is so strong, stubborn and sassy yet vulnerable. Their flirty, funny banter and snark were everything and a highlight of my reading. There were so many laugh out loud moments which made me love this book, these characters and Trent / Reese more. I loved that we could see the growth of the characters throughout the book. Reese and Trent complimented each other so well. She fits into his world perfectly. No wonder because of who she is and her love of football. Both love deeply and wholeheartedly. They have an emotional connection, pull and bond which allowed their relationship to develop naturally despite all the obstacles. The epilogue was everything, just wished it was a bit longer.

So well-written, so enjoyable, so entertaining with amazing characters, banter and romance. I completely adored the unique storyline, real characters and a build-up. So excited for Jackson and Alexa’s book. I highly recommend it.

This was fun, low-angst sports romance, and I loved it!

Reese Parker has a bone to pick with Trent Archer. Not only is he in the process of knocking her grandfather's beloved Virginia Thunders team out of the playoffs, but he also turned down an offer to become a backup quarterback for the Thunders and broke her sorority sister's heart. So when he makes the final touchdown that confirms the end of the Thunders' playoff run, Reese does something that cemented her and Trent's place in Internet meme history.

It also catches the quarterback's attention, leaving hearts where his green eyes once were. But Reese is not easily swayed. Will Trent be able to convince her that he is not what she had assumed and that he is worth dating?

This book was light and well-paced. I love Reese so much; she is smart, loyal, and independent. Her penchant for football stats and trivia is adorable. I also adore that Trent recognizes this and respects it.

This is a slow burn with only a couple of steamy scenes, but the nice tension between Trent and Reese is enough to keep you turning the pages. The transition from enemies to friends to lovers was smooth and seamless, and the supporting cast was also phenomenal.

Love in the End Zone is the first book in the series, and it looks like we're getting Jackson's story next. I cannot wait!

This was the very first story that I had read by this author and let me tell you that it won’t be the last. Carina did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life and I felt as if I was watching my own personal film in my mind.

When DC Rocket’s star quarterback, Trent Archer enters a room all eyes turn. His life revolves around football, no time or need for love. Until there was…..All because a feisty female caught his eye after winning playoff game and when he made eye contact, she flipped him the bird. What?!!! Shocked, he made it his mission to find out more about this feisty girl. To make matters worse, social media took this amusing interaction and turned them into a meme.

As it so happens, Reese is the grand daughter of the owner of a rivaling football team, the Virgina Thunder, one of whom he declined an offer to a few years back disappointing her grandfather. She was not about to fall for his charms, no way could she let this arrogant hottie, or so she thought, make his way into her life. Who cares if he is the most glorious male she has ever laid eyes on.

Could Trent persuade Reese to have dinner with him and convince her that he’s not the bad guy she thinks he is? Why does the opinion of one beautiful girl matter? For some crazy reason, this one means everything!

This gem of a book was awesome and I look forward to reading more of her work, especially the next book out, Married to the Tight End. A story about two characters that we were introduced to in Love in the End Zone. I can’t wait!

This is the first time that I have ever read anything by Carina Rose and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.Even though I know NOTHING about football,so all the technical football talk went right over my head..lol..it didn't stop my enjoyment reading Trent and Reese's story.
This is enemies to lovers as their first encounter is not a favourable one and ends up a meme on the internet.Which is Reese flipping Trent the bird after his football team the Rockets beats Reese's grandad's team the Thunder.Yes Reese's grandad is the owner of the Thunder and she is more than annoyed when Trent arrogantly blows her a kiss.Making them both famous in an instant.
But there is more to the story of why Reese hates Trent, she has a whole list, but Trent is determined to meet her and get to know her despite her original reaction to him...He is on a mission to change her mind about him.
It was so entertaining watching Reese and Trent get to know one another and the change in Reese's attitude towards Trent.
This was a delightful Romance between these two, with little angst and some sweet and funny moments.
Love In The End zone is a charming story of two people on the opposite sides, uniting and falling in Love, even enemies can unexpectedly become friends and find their HEA.
A great book by Carina Rose and I am looking forward to Jackson's book.
This is definitely a touchdown for me.

Carina Rose comes through with another cute "clean" romance!

Reese Parker loves football, loves everything about it. Reese is the granddaughter of the owner of the Thunder football team so she's loyal to the family business! Despite not working directly with the team, she has the most obscure stats floating around in her head, like the team percentage against QBs with an E in their name! She's smart, beautiful, loyal and a total firecracker; don't believe me, check out her viral meme giving the rival QB the finger!

Trent Archer is the QB on the meme seen 'round the world, at least the sports world! As a starting quarterback, he's more than a little used to women falling at his feet, so the gorgeous woman who flipped him off has caught his attention! Despite his fame, Trent is actually a good guy. He's not a player, he treats women, kids and puppies right, so he has no idea why this woman is giving him the one finger salute but he's determined to find out!

I enjoyed this story and it's great characters. Trent and Reese were great for each other and I loved how their relationship developed. The story was a clean in that all sexy times were simply alluded to. It gave me a Hallmark type of feel. Cute read.

I devoured this book in one sitting. I’m newer to sports romance and this one took the lead. Hooked from page one, Reese Parker is the sassiest FMC I’ve read in a long time.

Granddaughter of Charles Reese, owner of an NFL team, it was a natural instinct to flip the bird to Trent Archer when he scored the winning touchdown knocking her team from the playoffs.

Trent isn’t used to rejection as a golden boy of the NFL and makes it his mission to find the mystery woman who flipped him off and change her mind. Especially now that their exchange had become a widely shared meme.

Some of my favorite parts of this book had nothing to do with romance but with the friendships between both Reese and her best friend Alexa and Trent and his best friend Jackson. The friendships played such an important role in this book and make you laugh out loud the entire time.

The journey of will they won’t they we take with Trent and Reese is enough to keep you turning page after page with baited breath praying for a happily ever after!

When I was so sad that it was over, I was bolted back to life to realize that in just a month we get Jackson and Alexa’s story in married to the tight end and I cannot wait!

I have come to love the work of Carina Rose for her sweet romantic stories. With Love in the End Zone be prepared for a little bit of steam to be thrown in.
Trent was the Quarterback on top of the world right now. His team had just won the division championship thanks to his fantastic play. When a beautiful woman in the stands catches his eye and gives him the finger, he is shocked as normally woman tend to fall at his feet. Who was she and why didn't she seem to enjoy his trademark wink?
Reese was not happy. Football and specifically the team her grandfather owned were her life. Trent just stole their chance at the championship and she wanted to let him know exactly how she felt.
Of course it was a bit hard to do when it was someone as hot and sexy as Trent but her grandfather meant so much more to her than just another pretty face.
When their encounter becomes a meme and the two finally meet, it set off a chain of events that is life changing. You will love the humor as well as the emotional angst in this beautiful enemies to friends to lovers to enemies to friends...well you get the picture.

Trent Archer was the Quarterback for the DC Rockets and one of the top in the league. He had just scored the winning touchdown, sending the Rockets to the playoffs and ending the Virginia Thunders season. He spikes the ball, the fans are cheering and when he takes off his helmet he sees a gorgeous blonde. arms crossed and none too happy. So being cocky, he winks and she flips him off and of course the cameras catch it all. Later he finds out she is Reese Parker, granddaughter of the owner of the Virginia Thunder.
Reese knows more stats, and rules then most of the refs on the field. She declined working with the family but does help her Grandfather on draft days and consulting with the senior staff, instead working at a bakery with her friend.
Trent makes it a point to meet Reese and the more time they spend together the closer they get and the sparks fly.
Things happen and there are decisions to make. Will this change their relationship?

Loved Jackson and can't wait for his story to see what happens.

This story had me giggling from the beginning. Reese and Trent's meet is so funny. Enemies to lovers, with funny banter, sexy chemistry, fun characters, football romance. Trent is the enemy, she's always had that in her mind ever since college. So, when he is facing off with her grandfathers team in a championship game, the ending result makes her hate him even more. LOL. He sees her out in the stands and he is provoking her without even knowing who she is. There are memes, videos of their interaction and he just wants to know who she is. She doesn't want to know Trent Archer at all so, of course, she is seeing him everywhere. But, there is so much more to Trent than what he displays….This was my first CR read and I really enjoyed it. These two were really good together. The story will pull on your heartstrings and overall just a feel good funny story. The supporting characters were fun, overall an enjoyable read.

"This is my first book by this author and it is a sweeter read than I normally go for. But by the end of the story I have to admit I really didn’t end up missing that part.
Reese was the absolute standout character for me. Don’t get me wrong I really enjoyed Trent as a character as well but Reese just flat out intrigued me. The love that she has for football and the way her mind works in regards to that had me excited for what was going to come out of her mouth every time. Then when you add in the slow burn romance between Reese and Trent it ended up being a truly remarkable book to read. Would definitely read more books from this author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book." ~Sharon

"This was a cute sports romance. Can Trent an Reece get on the same page? Love of football, check. Chemistry, check. In this fast paced story about true love we learn that compromise is key

If you love a great sports romance adding in enemies to lovers then this is the book for you.
We meet the star quarterback for the DC Rockets Trent Archer, at the top of his career there is always a fan who wants to meet him but after a fantastic win one woman turns his head in a whole different way.
Reese Parker has always loved the game of football thanks to her grandfather and him owning the team doesn’t hurt but when a cocky wink comes her way her reaction is one for the ages.
Trent & Reese have the best banter, both love the game but can he change her mind towards him and let her see who he is or will her mind be made up. Watching them navigate through it all you can’t help fall for this couple and cheering for them with every turn of the page hoping to see that HEA they both deserve.

I read an arc.
This was my first read by Carina and I really enjoyed it. Reese and Trent are both very likable characters. Trent is a football player who has fun, is great to his fans, and shows a lot of care to the people he cares about. I love how Reese can be a fireball sometimes. She’s true to herself and I love how excited she gets about all kinds of football stats. The random stats she knew were fun and stats you wouldn’t always think about.
I thought Reese’s hate to like happened too quickly. For how strong her feelings were, I thought she pushed them aside too fast.
Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. I expected something and was glad that the story went in a different direction and could surprise me.
