I had the honor of moderating Gabrielle Blair's book event last night, graciously hosted by The American Book Center ABC in Amsterdam. Blair is founder of DesignMom.com which was named website of the year by Time Magazine and whose first book, Design Mom: How to Live with Kids, was a New York Times Bestseller. Her most recent (powerful) book 'Ejaculate Responsibly: a whole new way to think about abortion', should be mandatory reading for high schools and passed out freshmen year of college. What started as a twitter thread that went viral was made into a book. Her writing is quoted and shared across the globe daily (for years now)! Blair is changing the discourse, using humor, statistics, facts, and analogies to get her message across - “We have an entire pregnancy prevention industry built around the brief, elusive period of monthly female fertility, and nothing, absolutely nothing even close to the equivalent, that addresses the always persistent male fertility. We are laser-focused on the wrong thing!” Thank you, Gabrielle, for the wake-up call and thank you Saron van Diemen, amy branger, and Joke Aerts for helping to put on this event.
