“People won’t be quiet if I’m loving you. I’ve been single for one night, it’s too soon for a rendezvous. If loving you’s a crime now, then lock me, lock me, lock me and throw away the key. ‘Cause I don’t wanna leave.” – lyrics

‘Fireplace’ tells a heartwarming tale about a young woman who finds herself cozying by the fireplace with her irresistible love interest. Apparently, she wants to experience genuine love that burns very slowly like the fiery flames they are looking at. She needs him in her life, but she knows falling deeply in love with him could get her heart broken. “Baby, you’re the gift, we don’t have to wait till Christmas,” she whispers in his ear. “We can make this real if we check it off our wish list. Now we’re on the edge of this love, do you want to jump?” Before he can answer, she continues, “I need you in my life, where it’s me and you.”

‘Fireplace’ contains a love-based narrative and ear-pleasing soul vocals that will surely pull on your heartstring. The nostalgic-sounding tune possesses melodic instrumentation sprinkled with retro-soul, contemporary R&B, and Motown elements. Furthermore, “Fireplace” is featured on The Best of Whitney McClain EP, adequately titled, “Whitney’s Favorites.”

“I ain’t got no time for no heartbreak, but maybe it’s a risk I should take.”

“The goal is to keep going, to keep improving both as a person and an artist. Hopefully, my music continues to reach and inspire people to overcome the hard times that can come up in life. Music is such an important part of my life and I believe it can speak for us when words are not enough. I hope to continue to share my story, my music, and see what doors God opens for me.” – Whitney McClain stated

Whitney McClain emerged on the scene in 2015 with her debut single, “Bombs Away,” which has accumulated over one million views via YouTube. “Co-writing and having more input on all of the tracks has allowed me to put my style on my new songs. I grew up listening to Motown, Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire, as well as Amy Winehouse, Beyoncé, and Adele. I love trying to mix the old-school sound with my favorite influences because I am an old soul at heart. I’m so blessed. Music has always spoken to me. It soothes my soul. Even during some difficult times, it’s music that helped me heal.”
