“Take your mirror off the wall, ain’t you getting bored of your reflection? I’m tired of dodging all your calls. You wanna be the center of attention. I’m getting sick of ya now, stop sending flowers. I’ll just burn them all and you’ll cry for hours. Always putting me down, well, I’ve got news for you. You say I’m using you now. Hey, stup*d, that’s rich when it’s coming from you.” – lyrics

‘That’s Rich’ tells a post-breakup tale about a young woman who has successfully ditched her lazy ex-lover. Apparently, she finds her vulnerable ex in tears, and he’s pleading for her to meet his mother. She tells him no, “Don’t cry, I’m sure you’ll meet another, and you’ll tell her you love her.” But that doesn’t resonate well with him because he can’t seem to let go of her. Every time she takes a step back, the more he tries to hold on to their relationship that evaporated a short while ago. Minutes later, she tells her ex, “I think it’s funny how you miss me when you never knew me. You were a lazy lover, I moved on to ones that move me. Loser, lose your attitude, I’m doing good.”

‘That’s Rich’ was inspired by Blondie meets The Gossip. The fiery and empowering track narrates how you should never settle for anyone who doesn’t fulfill your needs. Oozing with energy and sass, Brooke demonstrates her impressive and powerful vocal range, which soars atop a throbbing beat and playful instrumentation.

“Think maybe you should please yourself because I’m over you. I’ll see you never.”

“I was reading Debbie Harry’s autobiography and wanted to encapsulate the attitude she portrayed in her life.” – Brooke stated

Brooke has been making waves for her ferocious vocal delivery and dance-worthy anthems. Rising to fame as a finalist of The Voice UK 2020, she wowed the judges and viewers with her show-stopping performances. Furthermore, Brooke has duetted with Ella Eyre and been mentored by Grammy award-winning coach/singer, Meghan Trainor. Also, she has received support from BBC Introducing as well as numerous Spotify editorial playlists including New Music Friday and New Pop UK playlists.

“No, I don’t wanna meet your mother.”
