Last night, he was a sexy stranger I couldn't get enough of.
Today, he's my new boss, who I can't seem to please.

Bad luck seems to follow me. Last night, I grabbed a drink at the bar near my new workplace.
I met the most sophisticated man when he “stole” my table. We bantered and danced, and I went home with a stranger for the first time in my life.

The next morning, I find out my hot one-night stand is my new boss. Gone is the playful, charming man from last night. Luke Maxwell is all business, acting as if our night together never happened.
He’s impossible to please, but I’m determined to succeed. This job is my chance to prove myself and put my past—and my ex—behind me. I’m not going to mess this up.

But then we go on a business trip together and end up stranded for the night. Instead of discussing our project, he kisses me in the elevator and throws a jealous fit, claiming I’m his.
Apparently, I’m not the only one who can’t forget our evening together after all.

Luke Maxwell is over the top rich and a clever businessman with a highly successful architect firm, Supreme Architecture. He has multiple brothers (some whose stories have been told and some yet to be told) and a couple of female cousins too. They are all wealthy and super close. This is my first read into a series about these family members. I'll get to the whole back stories on these characters later.

He checks out a new bar that just opened up around the corner from his Chicago office. As he heads to a table, there is a gorgeous female vying to grab the same table. They have some cute banter, shared the table and a few drinks. Her name is Megan Pierce. She's excited and nervous to be starting an internship the next day and she just came from a dry run of finding the business and feeling confidant to start her job. She wandered in to have a calming drink. Only first names were exchanged and no work talk was allowed. Next thing you know, they tumbled into bed at his penthouse. The next day they exchanged phone numbers and went their separate ways.

You do know where this is headed right? Imagine Megan's surprise when she turns up for her first day and Luke is the owner of the firm. Both are shocked, but Luke is a little better at recovering. Megan isn't sure she should take this job and leaves to think about it. But she does take it and they fit together like pieces of a puzzle.

Megan settles in, Luke tries to act professional and of course, feelings spill over. Megan wants to apply for the US Architecture Design Award. Luke's firm has had finalists and winners for that award and he does all he can to mentor Megan to do her best work.

There are a few hiccups along the couple's path to love. Just a little angst, but enough to add spice to the story. Now, for the things that bothered me. I didn't read the previous books in the series, and I got bored of every characters' back story being told over and over. I can go back and read them if I choose, but those stories aren't necessary for this one to evolve. Also, does any family really exist that have this much love and sweetness and sugar? Luke demonstrates over and over what he would do for his brothers and cousins. It's a little too much. I am not a fan of insta-love but that's exactly how things are between Megan and Luke. Things moved way too quickly from a one night stand into happily ever after. I have read other works from this author and have enjoyed them. This one just wasn't my cup of tea.

Kiss Me Forever is Luke’s story and it was a wonderful addition to the Maxwell Brothers series. I was excited to read his story and was not disappointed.

Luke and Megan were perfect for each other, and their chemistry was sizzling! From the moment they met there was a connection that neither could deny. I enjoyed how they conducted their attraction towards one another without any angst and drama. They were very professional considering that Luke was Megan’s Boss.

I enjoyed this heart-warming story filled with feelings of love and passion.

Luke and Megan's story is just really sweet. It's so easy, with not much drama. I loved it. I loved this kind of book in between books with heavy and emotional storylines. As I said, it is just so easy between the two of them. And I loved that Megan is very mature though they have quite an age gap. But that was never a problem so much as that she's his intern. I loved the Maxwells. I loved how Megan just fits in their family too. This is just a great feel-good story.

I really enjoyed this no nonsense, no drama romance. I love a book like this, sometimes you just need a nice easy read and that's exactly what you get from this author time and time again. This book and the series ro date has a feel good feeling about it. And the laughs,.smiles and the banter from all characters is brilliant. I expect nothing more from a family lead series.

Now let's get to the main characters. Luke and Megan were totally fated and I just loved the initial meeting and the days that followed. I know, I'm being as vague as anything but I really don't want to give anything away. It's becoming harder and harder to writes these reviews because people are more sensitive about spoilers even if they're not spoilers.

Just know this book is brilliant, fun, flirty and the characters are just brilliant. I loved how knowing each other, help them heal. This book and series is a huge recommended from me.

Layla Hagen is my go to author when I need something on the lighter side after all the dark romance that I read because she provides us with a low angst & drama romance that replaces all the dark chaos in my head. Kiss Me Forever is absolutely no exception, and I couldn't get enough of it. Luke comes face to face with Megan at a bar near his office, and the sparks were flying instantly. They decided to let go & sexy time it out that night, and went their separate ways after some phone number exchanging. Little did either of them know that she was starting her internship at his firm which is always highly entertaining to me. Of course now Megan is worried about taking it but at the end of the day, it's what is best for her future. These two work very well together, and despite the fact that Luke is trying to act professional, you already know that there will be some hiccups in his plan, especially since she's his lobster. To see how it all plays out, and everyone needs to experience their story, you'll have to hit those one click buttons as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I am completely enjoying this series and this book is not diffrent. I love the fun witty banter, the amazing chemistry between the characters and the family dymanics, it almost makes it feel small town like they are in their own bubble. I love how Ms Hagen gives us a low angst feel good story to just snuggle up and enjoy.

Megan and Luke are two strong independant people that weren't looking for more. Megan working on starting over and trying to find her place in her field of work. Luke happy with the life he has built, his business is doing well. How quickly the course of your life can change without you even knowing it is happening.

Can they keep the lines drawn while Megan finishes her internship? Or will their wants and desires become too much? Can they find a way to have both?

Such a sweet story.

Sometimes all you need is an easy read—a no-drama romance made for you to enjoy and relax.
That's Kiss Me Forever.

Luke and Megan were super cute together. After one night neither of them could ever forget, they were surprised by fate when they found out she was about to start working for him.
Despite their best efforts to keep their distance and be professional, their chemistry was more potent than their resistance.

Luke was utterly dreamy. He was incredibly professional and sexily dominant in his line of work. Yet he was laid-back, a fair and supportive boss, and he knew how to care for people. He'd do anything for the ones he loved - Meg included.
Megan was driven and determined to create her path. She just never anticipated she would fall for her boss.

Their story was lovely and on point to leave you smiling.

Luke and Megan are meant to be. I knew that from the first time I read about them together. Their story felt like it was uniquely theirs. This book has a lot of feel good and laughter moments sprinkled in.

I loved every moment of this story and I genuinely love how Luke and Megan find their way to each other and also how their lives entwined as well.

There is something very special about their love and devotion to each other. It’s uplifting to read for sure.

Luke and Megan just didn't work for me, and I really can't decide as to why.

I usually love this author and really enjoy her books, but there was just something about this one that didn't work. So, I am just going to pretend it didn't happen and look forward to her next title.

Luke & Megan’s Workplace Age Gap Romance Is A Sweet & Sexy Read! Their One-Night Stand As Strangers Turns Into A Workplace Fiasco When It Is Discovered That Luke Is Her New Boss. The Maxwell Family Drama Continues In The Background As The Couple Falls In Love.

This is the fourth book in The Maxwell Brothers series about the Maxwell family of Chicago.

ABOUT THE MAXWELL FAMILY:

The legendary Maxwell family is known for the famous bookstores they once owned. Ten years ago, those stores were sold off as the next generation went off to pursue their own dreams. Though each of the Maxwell kids received a trust fund from the proceeds of the sale, their sense of hard work kept them from becoming lazy.

Emmett and Lena Maxwell are enjoying their retirement now, but they worked hard as they raised their six boys. Beatrice, Emmett’s mother, had lost her husband years earlier, and she stepped in to help with the task of raising the children. Still, family dinner was always an important event for the entire family. Emmett’s younger brother Harvey had worked for the family business as well. Though retired in London now, he had turned to work to nurse his broken heart after his wife died, frequently traveling abroad. In his absence, his two daughters were left with Emmett and Lena as they grew up, adding to their large household. The family is very tight-knit. There is plenty of ribbing, but there is also an abundance of love and support.

Declan is the oldest Maxwell brother. He has a take-charge personality and a practical approach to life. He is a successful attorney.

Luke is second in birth order and three years younger. He is Declan’s opposite, always trying to cause trouble. He enjoys being a ringleader in his efforts to sow chaos. Luke is closest in age to their cousins, Kimberly and Reese. He owns his own architecture company.

Tate is the third oldest. Like Declan, his mother considered him a “trusted general.” He developed a love of wine as he grew up – something that he and his father had bonded over. Today he is CEO of Maxwell Wineries, headquartered in Chicago. He is skilled as a businessman, but his people skills, in general, aren’t as sharp. He is the single dad of nine-year-old Paisley, a badge he wears with honors, but it comes with scars.

Tyler comes next, and he lives for hockey. He plays goalie for the Stanley Cup-winning Chicago Blades. He has summers off but is busy much of the rest of the year. He enjoys getting rowdy and believes in trying everything once.

Travis is fearless and independent. He is celebrating the success of his startup, seeing all his hard work finally pay off. His personal life takes a backseat to work; he hasn’t had time for anything more than one-night-stands for the past three years. He sometimes gets into trouble, but he is also there to offer a helping hand when needed.

Sam is sometimes quieter than his brothers, but he has a rowdy side as well. He works abroad for Doctors Without Borders.

Three of the brothers keep offices in the same downtown Chicago building, making it easy to grab a drink together after work. Sam and Tyler travel for work but visit whenever they can.

Kimberly, their cousin, lives overseas in Paris.

Reese, Kimberly’s sister, lives in Chicago and is nursing a broken heart. She always enjoyed spending time in the family bookstores growing up and is happy to begin working in their only remaining bookstore – the flagship store that started it all. Their Gran had kept the solitary store for sentimental reasons.

FROM PROMISE ME FOREVER, BOOK 1:

This book opens as summer break commences for nine-year-old Paisley.

Tate Maxwell, thirty-four, is the CEO of Maxwell Wineries. The company is his passion, but his daughter Paisley will always be his number one priority. He got married just over ten years ago right after college. He was young and naïve, believed he and Nora were in love, but he eventually discovered that had all been an illusion. Nora had given birth to Paisley almost ten years ago, but modeling had been her true love. Tate was left to raise Paisley alone, and though there might be no love lost, the failure of his marriage weighs on him. He wants the world for his daughter, and he punishes himself for the fact that she barely has a mother, save for one or two visits each year. As the summertime nannies come and go over the years, he realizes he needs something more stable for Paisley for the daytime house while he is at work – a female figure that can serve as a constant in her life. He turns to an agency to help find the perfect nanny – one that can continue on beyond the end of summer break.

Wow! Tate and Lexi sizzle in this single dad and nanny romance. Their sweet and sexy story is infused with a keen sense of family and loyalty. The Maxwell family of Chicago is introduced here; watch for more to come. Readers get immersed in the Chicago setting – downtown, the lakefront, Lincoln Park, etc. The story is wonderfully written. The plot is fairly simple as it pertains to Tate and Lexi. The story is character-driven, and there are a number of characters, each with their own stories spinning in the background. Collectively, there is a lot happening. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Tate and Lexi. I rate this book five stars.

FROM HOLD ME FOREVER, BOOK 2:

This book opens in early October, about one month after Travis sold his startup. Tate engaged to Lexi, and Tate’s daughter Paisley is now ten.

Tyler Maxwell, thirty-one, lives for hockey and family. He is the fourth of six boys, and his family is very tight. Tyler doesn’t have time for relationships because his career is just too demanding. At his age, he is lucky to still be playing, but the fact that he is the best goalie in the league helps. He is signed with the Chicago Blades, but for now, he is benched. Tyler doesn’t regret standing up for his cousin Reese last month, but her ex-fiancé not only injured him, but Malcolm also staged it all on video to get the maximum damage. The video had gone viral, and the Blades’ management isn’t happy about it – the video was bad for their image and turned off sponsors. Tyler would be off the ice anyways due to his shoulder injury, and he takes it all in stride. He is excited about the volunteer work that management has set up for him in the meantime to improve his image. Coaching underprivileged pre-teens is right up his ally – he is comfortable with kids thanks to all the time he has spent with his niece Paisley. Teaching kids to play hockey, and absorbing all their energy, should prove to be fun.

Tyler and Kendra’s steamy hockey romance sizzles. It is another great story about the tight-knit Maxwell family. The Maxwells are vibrant and alive with history and controversy – watch for more to come. The story is nicely written, although it sometimes dwells a little too much on the minutia. The plot is fairly simple. The characters feel real. They are three-dimension and easy to connect with. The story is told in first person. The POV alternates between Tyler and Kendra. I rate this book four stars.

FROM SHOW ME FOREVER, BOOK 3:

This book opens in April in Chicago. Tate’s daughter Paisley is still ten. Both Tate and Tyler are now engaged.

Declan Maxwell, thirty-eight, works hard to maintain his reputation as the best divorce attorney in Chicago and beyond, so he values his downtime. The long hours devoted to the job during the week are rewarded with his strict no-work policy on the weekends. The oldest of six boys, he has a take-charge attitude and a pragmatic outlook. The serious-minded attorney credits his family for keeping him grounded. His parents’ marriage has happily withstood the test of time, but their example, in Declan’s experience, is more an exception than a rule. Declan doesn’t see himself ever settling down. He hasn’t ever felt compelled to introduce a woman to his family. He dates casually, but relationships are not for him.

Declan and Liz’s sweet and steamy story is about family and following your dreams. The Maxwell family saga continues in the background as Declan finds himself wanting things he never desired before. He falls fast and hard for Liz, whose work ethic and determination impress him. They share a love of family, and Declan’s steadfast support has Liz swooning. The story is nicely written. The plot is somewhat simple. The characters are nicely developed. The story is told in first person. The POV alternates between Declan and Liz. I rate this book four stars.

IN THIS BOOK:

As the story opens, it is July in Chicago. Paisley’s eleventh birthday approaches. Just over one year has passed since Tate and Lexi met in book one. Note that in Show Me Forever, book three, Megan is introduced with the last name Holmes, not Pierce.

Luke Maxwell, thirty-five, loves his life. As the second oldest Maxwell brother, he could live off of his trust fund and party every day. Luke always wanted to make his own way, however, and his ingrained work ethic in combination with his love of buildings led him into architecture. He particularly enjoys designing residential and office buildings. Today his name is well-known in the field, and he owns Supreme Architecture, one of the best architecture firms in the country. He houses his firm in the same downtown building that hosts some of his brothers. Declan, Tate, and Travis have offices in the La Salle Street building, too, and the brothers all enjoy gathering for an impromptu coffee by day or an evening drink at the rooftop bar. Luke loves the city, and his penthouse affords him some beautiful views. He works hard during the week, but his weekends are for downtime. For years he has avoided relationships, having been burned when he fell hard and fast for Cammy when they were both too young, but he enjoys hookups and casual dates. He always has time for family, though, no matter what. He likes being an uncle to Tate’s daughter Paisley; he adores eight-two-year-old Gran; he is protective of his two cousins, Reese and Kimberly; and he looks forward to family get-togethers.

Luke is known as the troublemaker of the family. He loves drama and is usually in the center of it. He is the crazy ringleader that Tyler, Travis, and Sam followed growing up – the opposite of Declan and Tate. But Luke is more than that. As a boss, Luke is relaxed. He casually makes jokes with his employees. He runs a well-oiled machine, though, personally training his employees and then trusting them to do their jobs. He does not micromanage. When presenting to a client, Luke transforms into a commanding and confident professional. When it comes to women, his confidence and charm are hard to resist.

Megan Pierce, twenty-six, is a bit of a perfectionist. She is excited to begin her paid internship at Supreme Architecture. She also feels lucky to have landed the position given the gap in her employment. Her last firm was downsizing and as a newer hire, she had been one of the first to go five months ago. She had only been on that job for about a year and a half. She had gotten it after her six-year relationship with Carson suddenly fell apart when she was twenty-four. They had gone to high school together in Maine, and they both moved to Chicago for college and grad school. Megan had helped Carson get his architecture firm off the ground, helping any way she could, only to be criticized for her lack of motivation and tossed aside so that he could freely play the field. She still has not recovered from the hit to her self-esteem. Megan has not been with a man since Carson because the idea of another relationship falling apart down the road intimidates her.

The internship lasts for just six months, but the prestigious position will open doors for Megan afterward. As a bonus, a number of the interns in the program have competed and even won the US Architecture Design Award, an award that Megan hopes to win herself. The grand prize is $100,000, and she knows what she wants to do with it. Megan’s Aunt Dana raised her since her parents died when she was eight years old, and Megan wants to repay her aunt’s kindness after so many years of sacrifice by helping to pay off her mortgage.

Ever the perfectionist, Megan decides to check out her commute and the area around her new place of employment on the eve of her first day on the job. Before heading home, she decides to grab a drink at the bar across the street, where she runs into a charming man that soon has her wrapped around his finger. She has never had a hookup before and has not been with a man in two years, but in very little time Luke has her agreeing to a night of pleasure. He asks for her number, but she has no expectations. She wrote it off as a night of fun and nothing more. So when her new boss turns out to be the same handsome man that charmed her pants off the night before, Megan knows she is in trouble.

Luke and Megan agree to put their night of passion behind them and maintain a professional relationship going forward. Luke is not one for following rules, but he understands Megan’s concerns are valid. Something about Megan makes him want to put his playboy days behind. He wants her like no other, and if it means waiting six months for the internship to end, so be it. Unfortunately, Luke is not always a patient man, and working side-by-side becomes a real challenge. As Megan settles into her new job and gets to work on earning the design award, Luke mentors her. But the couple faces some challenges as they navigate their way through the course of the internship. Megan is decidedly against entering into another relationship. She is also looking forward to the many opportunities that will await her at the completion of her internship. Finally, she is nine years younger than Luke. They are at different stages in their personal and professional lives, and in the end, their needs might not line up. The couple eventually finds a happy ending.

Watch for Travis’s story with Bonnie to follow; his storyline here ends with a cliffhanger. While on a business trip to the West Coast, Travis met Bonnie. They both know there was no future together when they share a week of pleasure. It comes as a surprise to them both when circumstances bring them back together.

The Maxwell family drama brews in the background of this book, making it a rich read for fans of the series. Sam’s story is also developing as he spends more time back home in Chicago with his mystery woman.

A few issues merit mention. There are some inconsistencies between books. First, fans will note that the Maxwell bookstores had been sold ten years before the beginning of book one, which was a hair over a year before the opening of this book (the summer before Paisley’s tenth birthday). Here it is said that the company had been sold when Luke was young, but he would have been twenty-four eleven years ago, a full adult. Also, in Show Me Forever, Declan’s story, the subject of Luke’s property two hours outside of Chicago is introduced. While there is no mention of Cammy, it is stated that he purchased the property a couple of years ago. Declan’s story opens in April, just three months earlier, so Luke would have purchased it roughly two or three years ago. In this story, however, the short relationship with Cammy was years ago, implying more than just a few years passed. Luke and Cammy were both very young at the time. It is also said that Luke has avoided relationships for years, so it is implied again he has avoided relationships for much longer than the two years Megan has been single. Next, Luke is supposed to be the biggest troublemaker in the family – the ringleader of the rowdy brothers. Although he is portrayed as having different sides, none of them come across as rowdy or crazy. The closest he gets to that is his choice to see Megan outside of office hours.

Wow! Luke and Megan’s workplace age gap romance is a sweet and sexy read. Their one-night stand as strangers turns into a workplace fiasco when it is discovered that Luke is her new boss. The Maxwell family drama continues in the background as the couple falls in love. Megan catches the playboy’s attention, and he has her breaking her rules. The story is nicely written. The plot is fairly simple. The characters are nicely developed. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Luke and Megan. I rate this book four stars.

This was an easy-going read with no drama, just a couple getting to know one another with a bit of an unexpected twist. A light, fun read. We loved the characters actually they were great they had a lot in common and both were down to earth kind of people.

Luke was my favorite, loved that he was dominating and possessive when it came to Megan, and we loved that she enjoyed it. It wasn't over the top, just enough to make a girl feel special.

We have to say, we are really loving these Maxwell boys, they're a riot. Megan was great as well she was special, loving, caring, driven and one day she would make an awesome mom and wife. Megan had to make some hard decisions but, we believe, she made the right ones where her happiness was concerned. My only complaint would be I didn't feel the chemistry between them, I guess you could say missing that zing factor for us even when this couple couldn't keep their hands off one another. I missed feeling that fire and passion between this couple because this couple were so in sync with one another they should have been burning up the sheets.

Mixed feelings on this one... Hagen's writing sucked me in at first, so much so that I didn't mind the closed door hookup in the first chapter. Yes, the "hot night" h spends with H before realizing he's her new boss? You only see them meet in the bar and then it's morning, with h standing in front of the office building. Closed door doesn't normally do it for me, but Hagen's writing and the storyline pulled me in. But then...it just got weirder and weirder. I finished this, but not because I was liking H & h- I was liking the family dynamic and really wanted to know more about Hagen's style to see if I want to pick up the rest of the series. (TLDL: I'm going to give it one more shot)
1. this is not closed door- only the first hookup was. If it was so hot it had Mr. Perm Bachelor thinking about continuing despite her being his INTERN, why didn't we see it? We certainly saw enough of every other hookup
2. H as the "boss"- uh NO. He was the MENTOR for h's INTERNSHIP. I work in the architecture field, this internship- and the competition- is the furthest thing from reality and I had a hard time with that. (It's a country wide competition, but the actual conference presenting ideas just happens to be in their city?) (And for the record, Intern Architect doesn't mean a literal intern- it's someone who's unlicensed working at a firm under a licensed Architect. The profession has title and practice laws)
3. LANGUAGE CHOICES. I started to notice around halfway through that the style of thinking and speaking was very... highbrow. I don't know if it was a shift in the language style or if it had been that way the entire time and I was starting to lose interest in the story (ZERO angst and it began to feel flat) so I was paying more attention? Exhibit A:
"I'd surmised as much."
The word "surmised" suddenly started popping up everywhere. The more I saw it the weirder it looked and felt for characters so supposedly "young acting" to be using language like that. And that's just one example- there were plenty more.
4. H was a permanent bachelor because of a long term relationship gone bad- or so we're led to believe. Come to find out, it wasn't that "long term".
"Mom had only met Cammy a few times. She didn't even know about the property."
Yes. Dude had bought a house for him and his ex but his Mom had barely interacted with her. This family is tight. It wasn't a real thing if the ex wasn't part of the family the way h was on night 1 of meeting them. It did give us this wonderful quote though:
“Only with you. What you and I have is important to me. I've never had it before. And I never want it with anyone else. Only with you.”

I could go on and on about how weird this felt. I even waffled on 2 or 3 stars, but ultimately decided on 3 because I do want to give Hagen's writing another shot. It's possible my irritation at the inaccuracies of the architecture world tinged this one for me lol

One night with a gorgeous guy is not Megan's norm, but she had to have something just for herself for once. Then she walks into her new internship and guess who is the new big boss...Yep, of course her beautiful night is now her beautiful boss. No matter, they'll keep things professional. But when it becomes obvious that will be impossible, that their attraction and chemistry are too strong to remain professional, they can't resist. But a relationship seems impossible between two people who don't believe in relationships or trusting another with their hearts. Not when both have burned by love before.

Luke's used to life being easy - he runs his own architecture firm, he's rich, he's gorgeous, and he and his brothers are closer than the average family. Then his intern sneaks her way into his life and suddenly he's thinking about something other than chasing fun. He hasn't opened up his heart in a long time, though, and doing so now is scary. Is he up for the challenge a relationship will bring? Especially one with professional implications?

Normally I'm all for the angst in my reading, as long as it's not so over the top I feel like I'm reading the script of a soap; but sometimes I long for a story that's low on angst and drama and high on heart and heat. That's exactly what I got with Megan and Luke's fun story. Though their relationship was forbidden, so making it all the more delicious, there wasn't a lot of back and forth about it, keeping everything just about their chemistry and developing feelings, which I very much appreciated. I've been loving these Maxwell Brothers, and can't wait for the next one to fall in love.

Kiss Me Forever is the 4th book in the Maxwell Brothers series revolving around the Maxwell siblings, members of a very prominent Chicago family falling in love. This book is the story of 35-year-old confirmed bachelor Luke Maxell the founder and C.E.O. of the very successful Supreme Architecture Co. and 26-year-old Megan Pierce who had been hired as a paid intern by his H.R. Department when they met at a nearby bar the night before she was supposed to start working there. Neither knew who the other was to each other.
Megan had only been with one man Carson her ex-boyfriend whom she’d been with for 6 years from high school through college until two years ago when he broke up with her because he was bored with their relationship. She had put her own career on hold to support his believing she was helping to build their future. That was two years ago and she hadn’t been with anyone since. When she meets the very handsome and very charming Luke at the bar they hit it off. They really hit it off. So well that Megan decides to break her dry spell and have her first one-night stand with Luke thinking she’ll never see him again. Surprise! When she arrives at her new job the next morning Luke is there to greet her. Luke is totally cool as if they didn’t just have sex at his penthouse the night before. But Megan is completely unnerved. She tells Luke she really wanted the job but she’s not sure it is a good idea. He tells her he really would like to hire her and suggests she take a day off to think things over. She agrees to meet him the next day. Here’s where things get a little confusing. After talking to her BFF Nina, Megan has fairly convinced herself to take the job even though the idea of working for Luke still makes her uncomfortable because of the chemistry between them and their brief history. They meet the next morning over coffee to talk. Megan tells Luke she’s still not sure. He tells her to take the next 24 hours to decide but he really wants and needs her on his team. So basically to do what she was supposed to have done in the previous 24 hours which made this coffee meeting pointless.
I wasn’t very impressed with Luke at this point. He sort of tries to keep things professional between himself and Megan but every time he’s alone with her he’s flirting with her and he seems to go out of his way to find reasons to be alone with her. Even though its inappropriate as he’s her boss I could deal with that if he really wanted a relationship with her, but Luke after having his one serious relationship go bad years ago has no intention of getting into another. So, him flirting with Megan who is doing her best to keep it professional between them even though she’s extremely attracted to Luke when he’s not looking for anything more serious than a fling to me is completely inappropriate and demonstrates he’s allowing himself to be led around by his dick. So being a man myself, Luke being too afraid to try love again after one major disappointment and then flirting with a woman employee he wants to fuck again but has no plans for any real future with despite his other fine qualities is hardly a flattering representation of my gender. But then this story became more fun for me when the shoe was suddenly on the other foot. Luke can’t stay away from Megan and quickly realizes he wants more than a casual fling with her. But Megan having already been burned once isn’t prepared to put all of her eggs in one basket again as she did with Carson. Megan has trouble believing in forever when the man she had been with for six years dumped her. She’s not sure what her future will be once she completes her six month internship with Luke. Luke wants more but aware that Megan is both younger in a different place in her life and gun shy, he’s afraid to talk about long term plans with her either romantically or as an employee. So Luke has to bite his tongue and cringe whenever Megan implies her future after her internship may not be working with him or even remain in Chicago. Her Aunt Dana who raised her when her parents died and had been burned in love is always pushing her not to sacrifice her career goals for a man as she had which also plays on Megan’s considerations. Another thing that had me confused (apparently Megan as well) was when Luke proclaims they are exclusive and she readily agrees. At the same time she’s thinking he only wants simple and casual. As a veteran reader of contemporary romances I always thought exclusive and casual were the opposites of each other when describing relationships?
You being a reader of contemporary romance and this being a contemporary romance I don’t need a spoiler alert to tell you that eventually Luke and Megan work through all of their issues to live happily ever after. As with all contemporary romances it’s the journey, not the destination. And Luke and Megan’s journey is pretty entertaining.

Layla Hagen has done it again! I absolutely LOVED Kiss Me Forever, the fourth book in her The Maxwell Brothers series! I loved every moment on every page of Kiss Me Forever and could not put it down. Each book in the series keeps getting better, Kiss Me Forever is my favorite book in the series. Layla Hagen definitely did not disappoint her readers with Kiss Me Forever and has once again delivered an incredible love story filled with everything that I love in sizzling romance stories. I love that Layla Hagen continues to write the stories that I love to read. Who does not love hot sexy men, who make you swoon, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another, and wonderful characters? I loved meeting the Maxwells brothers and the Maxwell cousins. I love how Layla Hagen always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. One of my favorite parts of her books is how she incorporates the picture on the cover of the book into the love story. I am not sure how she does it, but Layla Hagen has once again given her readers another incredible book with incredible characters. She has once again proven that she in an amazing storyteller. I really enjoy how she writes her stories in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love knowing what the main characters are thinking and feeling. My favorite moments in Kiss Me Forever are the lighter moments where I found myself smiling and laughing out loud. I also love the parts that pull at my heartstrings and cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Kiss Me Forever is filled with such moments, and with so much more. Kiss Me Forever is filled with all those things that I have come to love and expect in a Layla Hagen love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Kiss Me Forever is the love story between Luke Maxwell, architect and owner of Supreme Architecture and Megan Pierce, new intern for Supreme Architecture. Megan and Luke meet at a new bar across the street from Supreme Architecture the evening before her first day of work. Neither one of them gives their last names and Megan heads back to Luke’s penthouse for her first one-night stand. The following morning Megan is surprised to discover that her new boss is her one-night stand from the night before. After taking two off, Megan decides to accept the intern position and Luke will be her mentor. Megan’s dream is the apply for and win the prestigious US Architecture Design Award, and give the award money to her Aunt Dana, who raised her following the deaths of her parents when she was a child. As Luke and Megan spend time together, things quickly heat up between them. I love how Luke helps Megan achieve her dreams and how Megan helps Luke design and build a playhouse for his niece, Paisley. I love the chemistry between Megan and Luke and their love story. I love the secrets that each one shares with one another, especially how their past relationships make them uncertain about any future relationships. I love how the plot twist makes Luke uncertain about their future together, and I love how it gets resolved. I love how Luke listens to Megan and all the little things that he does for her, especially those things that she talks and dreams about. Layla Hagen creates such wonderful and memorable characters and has once again done this in Kiss Me Forever. I love Megan and Luke’s story and the descriptions of the Chicago settings. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Kiss Me Forever, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed catching up with the other characters in the series. It felt like going to a family reunion. I enjoy all the interactions among the Maxwell brothers and cousins, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. Kiss Me Forever was a wonderful love story. I love how the epilogue was more than a happily ever after, and how it hints to the identity of the next Maxwell brother. My favorite part of the story is Luke’s proposal to Megan, and the location of the proposal. I highly recommend this sizzling romance. Cannot wait to read the next love story in the series.

Luke and Megan’s love story in Kiss Me Forever by Layla Hagen, book four in her The Maxwell Brothers series, is a wonderful, heartwarming romance that will have you swooning and falling in love right along with them. This might be the first book of the series I’ve read, but will definitely not be my last.

A man and a woman meet in a bar, two strangers sharing a table, find they get along well, are attracted to each other, and decide to spend the night together. That’s something hot, sexy Luke Maxwell might do on the norm, but not Megan Pierce; it’s truly out of her comfort zone, especially not the night before she starts a new job. Walking into office where she was to begin her internship Megan was shocked and unsettled to find Luke was her boss. This was not what Megan signed up when she accepted her internship, but she needed the job, the experience, and a chance to apply for a prestigious award. She knew it was going to be difficult to hide her attraction to the cold, distant man acting as her boss. What she didn’t know is that Luke was keeping a lid on his attraction to her, waiting for the right moment to make his move. These two sizzle and sparked with enough chemistry to light the Chicago sky.

Ms. Hagen wrote a wonderful, emotional, and heartwarming story that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, strong magnetism, family dynamics, clever banter, the magic of love, and endearing characters giving Luke and Megan a chance at love, happiness, and a future together neither expected. I highly recommend Kiss Me Forever to other readers and look forward to the reading more books in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Kiss Me Forever

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I just adore the Maxwell family, and Luke is no different.

Megan Pierce want night up with the sooner soon in her mouth, she’s worked hard to get where she is and winning the architect prize is her next endeavour. She has scored an internship with Supreme Architecture, this is the stepping stone she needs to enter the award, and hopefully start her new life. What she didn’t back on was the owner being Luke Maxwell, last nights one night stand! Scared and embarrassed, Megan runs from Luke, her internship and her dreams… never fear good natured Luke reaches out to smooth things over but do down she knows that V might well be forever burnt into her soul!

Luke Maxwell is smart and talented, he runs his own architecture firm and is very good at what he does. If only his personal life was as organised, after a messy break up women are for sleeping with only – no relationships! Until a certain woman walked into a bar, went home with him and – yep now works for him! He can still smell her, feel her touch, and man this year is going to be killer knowing he can’t touch her!

Megan and Luke try so hard to keep everything profession, but these two have such amazing chemistry, it’s almost impossible, and I’ve they find themselves stuck out of town in a severe storm all bets are off. Placing lines between professional and personal they take that step, always in the back of her mind the prize she cane for. Megaton and Luke have a beautiful relationship, one that steams up the pages but melts your heart at the dans time. Luke us forever doting on Megan and pushing her to fulfil her dreams not realising it’s also fulfilling his!!

Kiss Me Forever is the newest installment of The Maxwell Brothers and is the story of Luke and Megan. Luke is the trouble maker brother that likes to cause waves in the family by not staying in line for Declan and getting a few of the other brothers to go along with him! He is rich in family, looks, intelligence, personality and emotion but not in relationship experience. His one serious relationship went bust and he no longer wants a long term thing, believing that love isn’t meant for him even if he sees his parents and brothers having it. Megan lost her parents when she was young and was raised by her aunt. She is a hard worker, determined, loyal, attractive and has a great personality but also doesn’t trust in relationships. Between losing her parents so young and then being screwed over by her college boyfriend after 6 years, believing in long term isn’t something that she wants to do.

Meeting each other, having a fling and then finding out they would be working together was a surprise for both! They were both intrigued with each other after their one night but didn’t think anything would come of it until they were working together every day and truly got to know one another. Each sees goodness in each other as they develop a friendship and gets to know one another more deeply. Their witty banter, and hard work ethic helped them to develop a strong friendship while the attraction continued to simmer even though they try to resist one another. I loved Luke and Megan’s chemistry. You could really feel it. Megan does her best to stay focused on work and put herself first after taking a back seat with her previous boyfriend. Since that was a huge regret for her, she focuses on her career and her future but Luke makes it tough! 😉

I absolutely LOVE catching up with previous couples and getting hints for where new stories might crop up. I also love that Reese is finally on the mend and that Gran has a beau! And Luke wanting to surprise Paisley by building her a treehouse for her birthday? Swoon! Love the family and the family dynamics and can’t wait for the next story!

I really enjoyed this no-nonsense, no-drama romance. I love a book like this, sometimes you just need a nice easy read and that's exactly what you get from this author time and time again. This book and the series to date have a feel-good feeling about them. And the laughs, smiles, and banter from all characters are brilliant. I expect nothing more from a family lead series.

Now let's get to the main characters. Luke and Megan were totally fated and I just loved the initial meeting and the days that followed. I know, I'm being as vague as anything but I really don't want to give anything away. It's becoming harder and harder to write these reviews because people are more sensitive about spoilers even if they're not spoilers.

Just know this book is brilliant, fun, and flirty and the characters are just brilliant. I loved how knowing each other, help them heal. This book and series are a huge recommended from me.

In a romance than can only be described as both swoon-worthy and heartwarming, Kiss Me Forever continues with the Maxwell brothers and family and focuses on Luke, the brother with the mischievous/troublemaker reputation who now runs a very successful architectural firm. He's everything we've grown to love about these Maxwell men: handsome, confident, loyal and very caring. He's determined to stay single until he meets a beautiful mystery woman named Megan in a bar. No last names exchanged. You know where this is headed, right? Yep, a hot one night stand because they're not going to see each other again. Well, that is until Megan shows up in Luke's architectural firm the next morning as his new intern!
Kiss Me Forever is a great forbidden office romance. As is her strength, Layla Hagan, makes us feel the sizzling attraction between these two as they try to keep their relationship professional. But, the pull is too strong and they begin a secretive relationship that could blow up in their faces if they're not careful. The heat may blow up your Kindle too. ;)
As with all Layla Hagan books, I loved the character development, the strong family relationships, and the true kindness of each character. There's also moments of wit and family banter that's always fun. Luke turned out to be a real charmer and Megan was someone I'd like to be friends with. She really had her act together. I truly admired her tenacity.
As with all other Layla Hagan family series, the Maxwell Brothers are a force to be reckoned with, but also a family that you'll want to get to know.

I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Another Maxwell Brother story! Of course another Maxwell saying he is not going down the relationship aisle! Luke is the Architect of the brothers and has a very successful business. He was supposed to meet his brother for drinks but his brother bailed so he decided to go himself. At this new bar Luke meets Megan and the attraction is instant. They have a connection and chemistry that they don't fight. Surprise surprise when Megan walks into her new job to find that Luke is her new boss. They try and they really try to fight the attraction but decide against it. Megan is still very gun-shy because of a past relationship. She is ok or so she tells herself with just having fun. Luke tells himself the same because Megan is 10 yrs his junior and he feels they are in different places in their life. I guess lucky for him Megan is what you call an "old soul" and once she makes peace with her past she is good to go. But they don't want to broadcast what they have because she does not want people to think she got where she got because she was sleeping with the boss. She puts all her efforts into a contest to advance her career. Her internship is only for six months and she doesn't even know where she will go or be after that is over. Unlucky for her, her Ex is also in the same contest as she is and you get to see what a pompous A** he is! When she finally realizes this it enables her to open her eyes to a future with Luke. This book was full of fun and all the Maxwells it leaves you wanting the next book.

One of my favorite things about the Maxwell series is how each of the brothers is different. They each have chosen a different career path that suits each of them. The Maxwell family have a great relationship and they are fiercely protective of each other.
Luke owns a very successful architecture firm. He also has shied away from relationships, but not the ladies. Megan is set on making her own way after a rough break up. She is very career driven. She is also very sweet, kind and often thinks of others.
I thoroughly enjoyed Megan and Luke’s story, and the way that their relationship progressed felt very realistic. I also appreciate the level of respect that they had for each other professionally. While they might have worked together they tried very hard to keep their relationship separate. I also adored how hard and fast Luke fell for Megan. And it is easy to understand. She is a wonderful character that fits so seamlessly into the Maxwell clan. Their relationship was about much more than their work, which I really appreciated as so many times with this trope it is all about the office and work. Not with Luke and Megan.
If you enjoy a strong family, with overprotective brothers, meddling Grandmothers and cousins this is the series for you! Once again, Layla Hagen delighted readers with a fun and low low angst love story. I am eagerly anticipating the next book….in all honesty, I am excited for all of the Maxwell stories!

Another amazing story from Layla Hagen! Luke is the always causing trouble or getting into mischief Maxwell brother. Having being burned in the past by a woman he thought he was in love with, Luke was determined to play the field. Megan was an up an coming architect that had put her whole life on hold to support her boyfriend of 6 years. She thought they were working towards the same goal of a business together. Then out of the blue, he tells her he wants to see other women. Megan is crushed. She applies for a coveted internship with huge architectural firm in Chicago. She decides to check out the area before her first day and stumbles upon a new bar opening right across the street. Much to her surprise, the bar is packed. Heading to the only table available, she arrives at the same time as the most handsome man she's ever seen in her life. They both agree to share the table. One thing leads to another and Megan breaks her six month dry spell with a one night stand. The next day she showes up at her new intern job, the get the shock of her life. Well, that's about all I will share for now. This book grabs you from the very start and holds you to the very last word, and leaves you excited for the next book. I highly recommend reading this book. AWESOME JOB LAYLA HAGEN!

Layla Hagen always brings the swoony in this Maxwell Brothers series, and Kiss Me Forever is yet another swoony and heartfelt visit with the Maxwell brood as we get to see another Maxwell brother fall hard for his lady. This series has great characters, a lovable ensemble, and always leaves me feeling warm- a sweet and low-drama treat.

This is a sweet office place romance between Luke Maxwell and Megan Pierce, a new intern at his firm. A meet cute at a bar with only first names results in a steamy penthouse night. Of course, the next day Megan shows up to her new job to discover that Luke is none other than the owner of the firm- unsettling them both, causing Megan to almost back out of the job but she stays, and both try to stay professional, especially when Luke becomes Megan’s mentor, but of course their chemistry keeps sparking and feelings develop.

Like the rest of the series, the story isn’t hugely angsty, a lot of sweet and a bit spicey. We get plenty of time with our past characters with this big, sprawling family that loves hard and shows up for each other in all the ways that count. The love story is a bit of instalove, or instaspark perhaps, but I enjoyed getting to dive into their attraction head first. All in all, another sweet and quick Layla read.

Luke Maxwell wanted a drink. He saw a bar was opening across from his building. He went in and the place was packed. He was looking for a table. One opened up and he was heading for it when a woman called out. He shared the table with her. They got to talking and he ended up having a one night stand. The next day he is walking into the office and who does he see his one night stand. Megan got an internship and she was checking out the area. This bar was open. She went in for a drink. She met this handsome man and did something out of her character. She had a one night stand. She never expected to see him again. He was her boss and she freaked out. She had to make a decision. She never expected to fall for him. His brothers could see how he looks at her. Luke wanted her badly. He never felt like this. It is an age difference. It didn’t bother him. Megan had goals. The award competition she applied for. Her internship gave her time to work on her project. She never thought about the future after she was with her ex for six years. She helped him get started with the business and then he left her. She was hurt but determined to make it. Great story line. I like this series. I ready for the next Maxwell book

I loved Luke and Megan's story! I absolutely love this series and the Maxwell family. Layla Hagen had always been great at giving us stories about a family we would love to be a part of and the Maxwell family is no exception! From the 6 brothers to their two cousins, their parents, their Gran, the women they fall hard for and their niece, this whole cast of characters has me smiling through the whole book.

Luke and Megan happen to meet by chance in a very adorable meet cute where they are both vying for the same table in a crowded bar. The two hit it off quickly but soon find out that they will be working together. Although they try to keep their feelings in check, those attempts prove to be futile and their feelings for each other soon overcome.

The chemistry and banter between these two is spot on. In true Layla Hagen fashion she's had given us another alpha H who will do anything to protect the woman he loves. Of course these are the parts of the book where you can't help but swoon because it's so romantic and adorable.

This was a quick read with a small amount of angst which made for a sweet story with lots of passion thrown in.

Having read Promise Me, Hold Me Forever, and Show Me Forever i couldn’t wait for more from this series! I instantly started looking forward to this fourth installment. I started reading and got right back into The Maxwell Brothers world! I so enjoyed this story!

Luke and Megan’s journey captured my attention right from the get go! These two shared a memorable night together. Little did they know the next morning they’d be brought back together. As they have to work together, can they ignore the sparks flying between them or are some rules meant to be broken?

I was so glad that Luke was getting his own book! I was so glad that i got to dig deeper with him as well as Megan. The chemistry between these two was undeniable! I felt many things with these characters all throughout!

It was so great being back in The Maxwell Brothers world! I enjoyed what the other characters brought to the story as well!

With Kiss Me Forever, Ms.Hagen has created such a good read! I can’t wait to dive back into this series with the fifth installment, Love Me Forever!
