“Now’s the time for all good men to get together with one another. We got to iron out our problems and iron out our quarrels and try to live as brothers. And try to find a piece of land without stepping on one another. And do respect the women of the world, remember you all have mothers. We got to make this land a better land than the world in which we live. And we got to help each man be a better man with the kindness that we give.” – lyrics

‘Yes We Can Can’ sees Brianna Knight encouraging listeners to think positive while trying to work in a cooperative spirit with others. Later, she sings with passion, “We gotta take care of all the children, the little children of the world. ‘Cause they’re our strongest hope for the future, the little bitty boys and girls.”

‘Yes We Can Can’ contains a relatable narrative and ear-pleasing soul vocals that will resonate well with fans of Kim Tibbs, RIVER, Mell & Vintage Future, and Ina Forsman. The likable tune possesses trendy guitars and groovy bass-laden instrumentation flavored with contemporary soul and retro R&B elements. Furthermore, “Yes We Can Can” serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear from Brianna Knight in the near future as she continues to release new music.

“‘Yes We Can Can’ is about encouraging everyone to work together as a community. Sometimes when facing issues, whether it’s racism, climate change, or poverty, we can feel isolated in our fight. For example, when talking about climate change, we pin the issue on the lack of recycling on an individual basis versus working as a group to pin the issue on larger corporations. Change comes when we work as community! When I first read the lyrics, I thought about how the words are still relevant 40 years later. We all need an upbeat reminder that we have the power to change things as long as we work with one another. Sometimes, especially in this political climate we’re in, we can feel powerless. And this song reminds me that I have everything I need to help the people around me.” – Brianna Knight explained

Brianna Knight has been featured twice at the Apollo, and she has opened for musicians like Samoht and Ruslan KD. Recently, she wrote jingles for Chime and performed for the Women Songwriters Hall of Fame. So far, Knight has grown her fanbase to over 40,000 monthly listeners. One day, she hopes to bring back neo-soul music to center stage in the music industry.
