A recent article in Forbes indicates that U.S. Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) and high-net worth investors are increasingly looking at alternative investment funds – private equity and private credit. Alternative investment firms traditionally have relied on institutions, like endowments and public pensions, as well as the ultra wealthy to fund their investments, but growth in demand is now coming down market.
A recent survey by CAIS found that rising interest rates, market volatility, and a growing lack of confidence in strong returns across public markets have prompted a surge in demand for alternative asset classes.
