The South Australian Food and Beverage Five Year Export Strategy sets the goal of increasing export sales from AUD $2.6 billion in 2021 to just over AUD $3 billion by 2027.

The industry-led Strategy (excluding wine) was developed through in-depth interviews and feedback from a broad range of exporters and key stakeholders and aims to provide a simple roadmap for exporters and decision makers to determine where to export, why and how, while also recommending the priorities for resourcing and support.

The Strategy is built around the principles:

  1.  Nurture the current seeds of export growth
  2.  Plant the seeds for future growth
  3.  Leverage the competitive strength of the food and beverage businesses in South Australia
  4.  Leverage, the strategies, and initiatives of national, state and industry bodies.

Leading the way is a Steering Group comprising of experienced food and beverage exporters across product categories including seafood, beer, spirits, meat, cheese, olive oil, honey, and biscuits/snacks, along with representatives of Food South Australia and the Department for Trade and Investment.
