Transparency School 2025

Who can apply?

The Transparency School is open to senior students, graduates and young professionals. The average age of Transparency Schoolers in 2024 was 30.

We welcome individuals from public, private, non-governmental and academic sectors, from all academic backgrounds. Transparency School does not discriminate its applicants on the grounds of race, color, national origin, disability, sex, gender identity, religion, political beliefs, marital, familial or parental status, sexual orientation or any other basis. Fees & Scholarships

  • In-person participation 

The Transparency School 2025 tuition fee is 1200 Euros. It covers 5-day programme costs, 6 nights of accommodation (29 June – 5 July), 3 daily meals, internal transportation and organised social and networking activities.

  • Distance learning option

Cannot join us in Vilnius this year? We have a distance learning option for you!  You can join our online stream programme and immerse yourself in a dynamic, interactive learning experience by following plenary sessions and participating in breakouts with lecturers and fellow online participants. The tuition fee of the distance learning option is 400 Euros.

Financial support

Please note that in certain cases we can offer partial or full tuition fee waivers to prospective participants in need of financial support. If you would like to receive financial support, please indicate which scheme you would like to apply for in the application form.

A limited number of scholarships provided by the partners of Transparency School 2025:

  • The Open Government Partnership will cover four full scholarships including a tuition fee waiver and international travel (excl. visa and insurance costs) to nationals of Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. One exceptional young professional working in advancing access to information will be awarded the Helen Darbishire Scholarship, in honour and memory of Helen Darbishire, a world-renowned human rights activist, erstwhile lecturer at the School and OGP’s former Steering Committee member. All exceptional applications from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine will automatically be considered for the OGP scholarships. Please explicitly indicate in your application if you would like to be considered for the Helen Darbishire Scholarship, detailing in your motivation letter how your (planned) work advances access to information in your environment.  
  • Taiwan Foundation for Democracy scholarships cover partial tuition fee waivers to the nationals of Taiwan and the broader East and Southeast Asia region.

Deadline for applications

  • The deadline for applications is 18 May 2025.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, thus we encourage you to apply at your earliest convenience.

Candidates will be notified about the outcome of their application by 31 May 2025 at the latest. Only successful candidates will be informed about the outcome of their application.

The application process

Applying is really simple – just fill out and submit our online application form (please find it below).

Please note that you will be asked to upload a short motivational letter along with your CV. We strongly advise that you prepare these in advance and have them ready before you start filling out your application form.

The following documents are required in order to complete your application:

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV);
  2. Motivation letter (max 500 words);
  3. Completed online form.

Upon receipt of your notification, you will be asked to transfer the tuition fee to the designated bank account. We will confirm your admission upon receiving the tuition fee.

Cancellation policy. Please note that a refund will be offered to all cancellations made in writing ONLY until the date specified in the letter of acceptance. No refunds will be issued for registrations cancelled after that date. An administrative refund fee 100 EUR will be withheld.
