Visual Communication and Visual Routines
Wednesday 16th March 2022, New Lynn Community Centre, Totara Ave, New Lynn, Auckland
Learn:

- why visuals are important, different types of visuals, how to use visuals effectively and how to extend the use of visuals.
- how to use visual communication systems and incorporate a visual component into your resources.
- how to use visuals for your child, your student, the person you care for or works with you, and how to support the elderly.

Workshops are open to parents/caregivers, teachers, teacher aides and anyone who works with or cares for someone with a learning challenge.

Workshops run for approximately 2hrs each at a cost of $60 per person. The venue has a double vaccine mandate and vaccine passes must be shown prior to the workshop.

Support Group

We organise a special needs support group for the Auckland region of New Lynn, Green Bay, Blockhouse Bay, Titirangi and surrounding areas. The group is for anyone living with a family member with special needs of any age. We meet once or twice a term and have a mix of natter sessions, topic sessions and guest speakers. The group runs a positive environment where we offer each other understanding and advice.

TURN TAKING SCHEDULE - COMPUTER AND IPAD

Need to teach turn-taking at school or home? My iPad and computer turn-taking schedules provide a visual way of doing this. Use a photo of the person whose turn it is in the "my turn" space and track their turn using green - it's their turn, orange - halfway through their turn, red - their turn finishes. How to Start a Micro Business

Advice and help with starting a micro-business/hobby business/social enterprise for people with learning challenges and their families or service providers

Includes:

How to choose what to sell or what service to provide
Advice on where to sell your products or offer your service
Who will work in the business
Where to get specific business information
What business structure you need
Some mentoring to get you started

Initial consultation – 1-1.5 hour discussion on what you want to achieve $75
Sessions on getting you up and running $50 per hour.
Workshop - $60 per person
Staff training package - $450 for a 2hr session for up to 12 staff, please email for a quote if you would like a longer time and/or more staff to attend.

Available in Auckland in person or other areas via an onine meeting.
