GREETINGS FROM OUR MISSIONARIES Jambo! We are the Okoth family and have been proudly serving with Good News Kenya for the last ten years. We are passionate about reaching Kenya with the Gospel. Together we run a sponsorship program for over 75 children, we are the directors of Good News Migwena Academy and Fred pastors a church. We serve alongside a great team of Kenyans that help cultivate Christ-like communities that live to proclaim hope for the future.

GOOD NEWS ACADEMY’S VISION Good News Migwena Academy has a vision to nurture children in their wisdom, knowledge, talent, and faith. In doing so we will provide them with quality education, equip them with tools to change their future, and empower them to impact their community with the love of God. Our school sits on four acres of land in Migwena village, in Western Kenya. Migwena is a rural village and previously did not have a private school. All of the public school classrooms are overcrowded and lack proper learning resources. Our goal is to keep school fees as low as possible while providing the children with quality education that develops their mind and stimulates their imagination as they engage in learning and creative play.

Good News Migwena Academy opened in January 2020 after completing construction Phase I. Our pioneers for Good News Academy were 20 first grade students and three staff members.

SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT
In April 2022 we opened for our third academic year and welcomed over 200 students in grade levels 3k-3rd grade. In January 2023 we will begin 4th grade with an additional classroom of learners! We currently have six classrooms and 15 staff members that provide innovative teaching styles to our students as they help nurture a Christian foundation. It is our desire to continue to expand Good News Migwena Academy so that we can provide more students with hope for a better future.
