New York Billionaires #5

Suite on the Boss

Rate this book
Fake dating my billionaire boss to get revenge on my ex? Yes please.
But falling for him? That’s something I vowed never to do again.

Isaac Winter is the fourth-generation owner of the legendary 5th Ave hotel that bears his last name. He’s at the top of New York high society… and I’ve just left it behind.

When he hires my company, I’m thrust into endless meetings with him, determined to impress the cold, untouchable leader of the Winters.

The last thing I expected was to start fake dating him.

He needs his match-making family to take a step back. And me? Revenge on my cheating ex-husband sounds great, and even better when it’s with a man whose name opens every door in the city.

The line between fake and real soon gets smudged by our late-night conversations. Isaac’s driven, passionate, intelligent… and far less controlled than he seems. Revenge feels deliciously suite.

But I’m done with rich New York men and their cheating ways.
They think they can buy anything they want… but my heart’s not for sale.

Sophia is freshly divorced and throwing herself into her consulting job to cope. Isaac is a hotel chain boss and a prospective client. They are attracted to each other but Sophia is still affected by what her ex did and Isaac doesn't want to mix business and pleasure.

Series status: You could read this as a stand-alone but then you'd be missing a great book about Isaac's brother. Just saying. I love this author's polished writing, she has way of putting things in words that gives me the feels. I have highlighted half this book.

I should know better...NOT clean

I usually love these billionaire reads. Probably something I shouldn't admit too, but it's just true. This one had some real issues with verb tense and edit errors, but overall I thought it was a fun read. And then it dives dirty and I was done.

Content: Quite descriptive
Language: Lots of language, several f-bombs
Religious: No

Happy reading!!

Mature characters

I really liked the story and I liked the characters. Sophie was an independent, smart and strong woman, she was a great example of a hard working female lead. Isaac was the same way. They literally talk about how similar they are. I loved that he fell first, he was open to a relationship from the beginning and didn't mind waiting for Sophie.

My only problem was that the love story wasn't well developed. I swear we got to 80% of the book and she was still hang up on her ex. Well, that may not be totally true, she wasn't hang up on her ex but rather still hurt from his actions. However, the ex was mentioned so many times that he felt like the third person in the room. That didn't leave much space for the romance to flourish so I didn't really feel the connection and chemestry between the two main leads. I only felt it at the end and that almost had me giving the book 4 stars, but I just couldn't ignore the rest.

I wish the story was less focused on how her ex was an idiot and more on how she opened her heart to Isaac. Because she tried, but the other stuff was still there.

Overall this is a 3.5 read for me because the story wasn't as exciting or romantic as I was expecting it to be. I absolutely adore Olivia's writing and will keep reading her books because she's awesome and she creates characters that actually go to teraphy (or at least mention going to) and there isn't usually a huge miscommunication problem between her characters.

I read some people mention how pragmatic and cold their relationship was, and though I agree with the later, I think I actually liked the pragmatic part. We should normalize having an open communication with your partner, protecting yourself legally and morally, and actually listening to your partner's needs, desires and hopes for the future.

Suite on the Boss by Olivia Hayle

“Fake Dating your Boss to get revenge on your cheating Ex-Husband?”

YES PLEASE!

Olivia Hayle wrote another great addition to her New York Billionaire series. This is Sophia and Isaac’s story. They accidentally met in Isaac’s Hotel because of an unfortunate circumstance. Almost a year passed, Sophia, newly divorced and is now career driven, was hired by Isaac’s company to do consultant job. Both have attractions to each other however Sophia made it clear that she no longer wants to be involved with the upper east side men and for Isaac, he experienced a past closely relating to her and his sole focus is the company passed on to him by his Family. No mixing business with pleasure. Yet another run in with a circumstance made them agree to fake date. Fake dating will always involved feelings and both were clear what they can only give however as they navigate their attraction to each other, fake becomes real. The past experiences becomes a problem and I just love that it was resolved because both characters communicated very well.

I love the characters are well matched and the conversations are so mature and professional. The development of their meet up from the start until they meet again was fantastic. I love how the author made Sophia career driven after the divorce, love how she stand up for herself with the confrontation with her ex. Isaac’s character is not the typical alpha CEO but he is more mild and logical.

Overall, If you want, sweet, light drama and easy read, this book is for you!

ARC received in exchanged for an honest review.

Let me start by saying I discovered Olivia Hayle a couple months back. I loved her books and quickly read all of them within a week lol.

Suite on the Boss… whew 😅 I was immediately drawn into the book within the first few pages when Sophia was seen running out of the hotel with security hot on her tail and In distress. Here comes Isaac walking over to talk to her to discover she seen her husband having an affair. Like woah we just went right in the book with drama 😱. I knew from that moment that Isaac found her person and Sophia was given a second shot at love. I just has that huntch immediately.

Months after that Encounter they meet again but this time at a work meeting. Sophia who works at (Exciteur) is pitching a new hotel chain to Isaac Winters . She realizes quickly that the encounter she had months before was with the CEO of Winter hotel was that in fact Isaac Winters.

Isaac had been feeling a lot or pressure from his family to get out and start dating again. Sophia wanted to seem as if she moved on from her ex cheating husband as he was seen out at an event with his mistress. They both make a plan to start “fake dating” and going to events together.

Of course that didn’t last long before they both started to get feelings towards each other.
I immediately loved the back and forth banter between the two of them and how they could just be themselves around each other.

Although. It wasnt always easy and they had up and downs they conquered it and figured it and of course
Got their HEA .

If you love Millionaire books and HEA with a pinch of drama this book is a must read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

I had got an ARC copy and this my honest review of the book!

Olivia Hayle does not disappoint in the fifth installment of her New York Billionaires series. Anthony is my favorite Olivia Hayle character, so I was excited that we were getting his brother Issac's story! We only got a glimpse of him and his life (years prior to when the story is happening now) in Anthony and Summer's story.

Sophia is newly divorced and leading a team at Exciteur (which we have seen in previous books!) She is pitching a new hotel chain to the CEO of Winter hotels, Issac Winter. Sophia is not looking to date; and is definitely not looking to date another Upper East Side jerk.

Issac Winter has been single without any prospects for years since his then fiancé cheated on him. His family has been pressuring him to find love, but he wants nothing to do with it.

Sophia and Issac see an opportunity to benefit them both - they will fake date, so that Sophia's ex sees her with someone else and Issac's family finally sees him with someone. We all know what happens when characters fake date; things get complicated when feelings start to get involved.

Both of these characters were definitely jaded based on their own experiences with past relationships and love. They were able to compliment each other and move forward towards love, which neither of them saw coming.

I really enjoyed this book and am going to miss this series!

Isaac meets Sophia in one of his hotels on the day she discovers her husband cheating on her. Almost one year later they meet again, she's the project manager of the team that has to work with Winter Hotels.

Isaac is Anthony Winters brother, whose story is told in the second book of the series, Saved by the boss. He's a workaholic burnt from a past relationship.

Sophia is still licking her wounds after her ex's infidelity, and has become a workaholic so she doesn't have to see what her life has become.

I really enjoyed the way they meet the second time, and the admiration and respect on both sides beforehand. The situations they make them have the proximity needed are well woven in the story.

The evolution of the relationship is quite natural, taking It in the way both scarred people would. What I didn't enjoy much was the reason for those rocky moments, I understand the need of a good reason for the third act breakup but I didn't like the trigger of this one.

This is the last book of the series The New York Billionaires, I enjoyed all of them but this one is not my favourite one.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Thanks Olivia and Booksprout for sending me a copy of this to read.

This book follows the very sultry Issac Winter of the Winter hotels. The CEO who keeps the business afloat so that everyone can have their piece of the fortune.

Sophia is a women from a small town who lives to New York to make a life for herself. When we first meet Sophia she is running through the corridors of the winter hotel after finding her husband cheating on her.

Issa spots her and tries to console her like a true gent. 1 year and 1 divorce later Sophia is proving just how much of a valuable assets she is I. Her work and is projecting to the winter hotels for their new hotel brand. Only she doesn't expect to see Isaac and neither does he her but bit are they both glad.

They fight their attraction but then use each other as buffers against family/ Exs from the New York elite.

The attraction they have for each other is held off soo much it makes this book a really slow burn. These two really just click together I just found it a little irritating at times with how slow it was.

I did enjoy reading this book though and would recommend that you use your own views after reading.

Healing Their Broken Heart For A Happy Life -
Isaac runs into Sophia just after she discovered her husband’s betrayal and they both never expected to see each other again after they went their separate ways. However, fate brought them back into each other’s lives and working together had them embarking on a fake relationship that turned real. Unfortunately, Isaac’s past returns and creates a rift in their budding relationship, but time apart made them both realise they actually wanted to be together.

This is a really awesome book, that you don’t want to miss. The characters have their own issues, but they just can’t stop the heat that simmers between them. The storyline is filled with of different emotions and that make this a worthwhile page turner. I enjoyed reading every minute of this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

Sophia & Isaac first came face to face at a terrible moment in her life, and they wouldn't come face to face again around a year & a divorce later as she's hired as a consultant by his company. Of course neither wants anything to do with a relationship, her because of the cheating ex, and he won't mix business with pleasure but the best laid plans amirite?! And then they decided to fake date due to circumstances in each of their lives, but you already know that the fake won't stay fake forever or will it?! The sparks did fly, and yet, it was a bit of a slow burn at the same time but I won't reveal why I felt that way because it could have just been me. Suite on the Boss was a page turner that I read in one sitting, and now it's your turn to hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

"But I realize now, in more ways than one, that I'd confused an errant ray of sunshine for the whole sun"

I loved this story about Sophia and Isaac and their lovely friendship with witty and fun banter that's progressed into fake dating with revenge purposes that later transforms in a true connection.

I'm a big fan of the Winter's brother's, Anthony's my favorite MMC in the series (and his book's my favorite as well) and Isaac was becoming a 2nd in line until the 3rd act breakup (rushed, didn't make much sense to me, changed the whole flow of the story and frankly annoyed me so much. Not because of what happened but how it happened).

I love reading romance but sometimes i'm just so tired. This series have been a great read and i'm sadly disappointed with how it ended.

Suite on the Boss by Olivia Hayle is book 5 in the New York Billionaires Series. This is the story of Isaac and Sophia. Sophia is still fresh from her divorce and is throwing herself into her work. Isaac is the CEO of Winter hotels and is a positional client for Sophia. Isaac is a single man after he found out his fiancé was cheating on him. This of course has darken is look at love despite his family trying to encourage him to find someone. Both feel the pull to each other but both has previous issues that they will have to work out. Enjoyed this book.

Amazing!!

I received a n ARC copy from the publisher and read it in one day, I was not able to put it down.
Female lead is strong and independent, she not waiting to be saved. The male lead is sexy, alpha, appreciate an independent woman and showed multiple times, he is not the typical man that is perfect all the time, pretty surprising twist.
I love that the book bring the couples from previous books.
Hopefully we can get another epilogue with Isaac and Sophie.
Olivia you were a genius in this book, thanks for sharing your talents with us.

I really loved Anthony’s book in this series so I was a bit nervous about reading his brothers book but wow, I equally loved this! Sophia is just such an awesome main character, I loved how she was written. Isaac was also super dreamy and a nice contrast to Anthony!

This was going to be 4/4.5 stars until the third act conflict happened. It just seemed so far out of left field, and not what was hinted at throughout the story. I also just felt like the chemistry between the two main characters was lacking, but I liked Isaac’s personality a lot so that was the saving grace

Overall, I liked this book. Sophia catches her husband cheating and now she is starting over. She meets Isaac and they begin fake dating. I had trouble liking Sophia at times. She was so occupied with her career and yet complained she didn't have any real relationships. Thankfully she overcame her issues and they could get their happy ending.

Olivia Hayle writes the most wonderful billionaire characters, but also the most wonderful women who find their way to these men. There's a complexity to them that adds to the appeal. I loved the way both Sophia and Isaac couldn't articulate what about past relationships had scarred them so much, yet managed in the end. Very satisfying!.

Overall a really light and easy read. I really loved their first meeting and the characters were likable particularly Sophia. I did feel it lacked a spark that I can’t quite put my finger on. I wish there was more pop and chemistry to their romance. But it was a good read and I would recommend this.

Dragged on and terrible ending

This book was slow, so incredibly slow. Then finally when you see the couple start to actually progress you find out that the MMC doesn’t give a dang about fidelity, which is a huge sticking point for the FMC, and yet she somehow quickly convinces herself that just because he helped someone commit adultery, that he somehow won’t cheat on her in the future, just like her ex did.

There is literally no reason why she gets over this huge thing. She just does mental gymnastics to convince herself that it’s totally fine and not a massive red flag.

Authors shouldn’t make the third act break up so significant to the hurt character if they aren’t able to write their way to a logical and satisfying ending. This was completely awful.

I’ve never been cheated on and even I wouldn’t trust this man as far as I could throw him.

3.5⭐️ Fast, cute, low angst read. I would have preferred more details and fewer scene transitions which left me and my expectations hanging. Also more thought going into the 3rd act breakup would have been nice, but that’s just me. On the whole I liked all the MCs in this series. Looking forward to “Bossmas.”

Suite on the Boss by Olivia Hayle delivers a captivating narrative filled with intrigue, ambition, and the complexities of love and revenge. Set against the backdrop of New York high society, the novel follows Sophie, a determined and independent woman seeking to move on from her past while navigating a fake relationship with her billionaire boss, Isaac Winter.

The premise of fake dating to exact revenge on Sophie's cheating ex-husband sets the stage for a compelling storyline rife with tension and unexpected twists. Olivia expertly crafts characters that are both relatable and multi-dimensional, with Sophie emerging as a shining example of resilience and strength in the face of adversity.

Isaac, the enigmatic scion of the Winter dynasty, is portrayed as a driven and passionate individual whose allure extends beyond his wealth and status. The dynamic between Sophie and Isaac is underscored by late-night conversations and simmering chemistry, gradually blurring the lines between fake and real.

While the characters are well-developed and engaging, the love story at the heart of the novel may leave some readers wanting more. Sophie's lingering emotional baggage from her past relationship occasionally overshadows the burgeoning romance with Isaac, hindering the development of their connection.

Despite this, Olivia's skillful prose and attention to detail shine through, ensuring that Suite on the Boss remains an enjoyable read from start to finish. The pragmatic approach to relationships and the emphasis on open communication and mutual respect between partners offer a refreshing perspective on modern romance.

Overall, Suite on the Boss is a compelling tale of love, revenge, and self-discovery that will resonate with readers seeking a blend of drama, intrigue, and heartfelt emotion. While the romance may not reach its full potential, the novel's strong characterization and thought-provoking themes make it a worthy addition to Olivia's repertoire.

in a rare instance w these kindle rom books i’ve been tearing through i wanna talk ab this one and what it did so well for me
-superficially, love a tall FMC it is so rare in these books and i selfishly adore it
-man just overwhelmingly awed at how smart this woman is, explicitly not from a place of some degree of misogyny (ultra rare):

He smiles. “Fine. The word I’m looking for is sharp, Sophia. I didn’t expect you to be this sharp.” “Because I married Percy Browne?” That makes me chuckle, and I lift my glass. “You know what, I understand that. It wasn’t the smartest decision I’ve ever made.” A smile spreads across his features. If his good looks were austere before, this makes them come alive, and I catch my breath. “I’ll toast to that,” he says, and our glasses touch. Warmth spreads through my chest, and I can’t resist teasing him. “Do you often think women are less intelligent?” He gives a surprised chuckle. “I’ve never been asked that before.” “Because the women you surround yourself with are usually too dumb to ask it?” “Oh, I’d love to hear you say that around my mother or my sister-in-law.” I laugh. “So that’s a no, then.”“Definite no. And for the record, I don’t think women are unintelligent. I didn’t think you were.” His eyes glitter with teasing. “I made a snap judgement about your character based off what I knew of Percy’s. That’s all.”

-third act breakup (a formulaic given we come to expect) that actually made my gut twist and made me feel something instead of just “ugh can we get this stupid ass argument over with” like truly …….. just … gosh
-he’s consistently impressed w just how intelligent and amazing at her job she is and is so explicit about how she should never make herself smaller and is pissed off at the fact that she ever did that to even the smallest degree for her cheating ex husband
-great chemistry
-very supportive and respectful of each other as partners
-‘we all find our own path and that’s human and beautiful’ typa vibes

I love a good fake dating with the boss read, and when you add a hot alpha-roll like Isaac Winter to the mix, you get a solid romance book.

Working as a consultant for Winter Hotels is not the first time Sophie Bishop interacted with Isaac. When she discovered her husband in the arms of another at the Winter Hotel, a crying Sophie runs into Isaac, who helps her to escape her cheating fiancé.

After she leaves the cheater and works for Exciteur as a head consultant, she crosses paths with Isaac again. This time, he is her client. The more these two work together, the more they realize that there is a deeper connection than just a professional one.

When Sophie gets an invite to a high society event where she might run into her ex-husband, Isaac volunteers to be her date to keep the cheating jerk at bay. It will also benefit him by stopping his family members from meddling in his dating life.

I enjoyed this read. The connection between Isaac and Sophie is quickly established, and their chemistry is fire. I love them doling out revenge to their exes, who very much deserved their comeuppance. I personally love that they challenge each other to come out of their respective self-imposed shell. There are some moments where the pacing is a bit slow, but the revenge moments more than make up for those.

This low-angst read does well as a standalone, though there are appearances by the characters from previous books in the series.

** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. Thank you to Olivia Hayle and Social Butterfly PR for providing an ARC. **
