In remembrance
A dear friend passed away this month. David Heath.
Dave read over two hundred Christian audiobooks, many of which I had the privilege of producing - including the ESV Bible in audio, the most listened to audio Bible to date.
Dave started narrating audiobooks almost two decades ago, when I discovered there was a local Chrisitan-owned theater company where he was a resident actor. Dave put his heart and soul into the books he narrated. He loved Jesus with all of his heart and it was evident to everyone who interacted with him.
I worked with him to record the ESV Bible in the mid-2000s, back when the studio was at our house. I loved seeing him show up with so much joy on his face. A hug from Dave was epic. As we worked there for months recording the Bible, he ended up fixing many things around the house - a faucet, the front door lock, something in the studio, etc. It was like him to look around and consider others needs.
I always loved Dave's narration. I loved Dave. I will miss him greatly. But I know his hope and confidence was in the Lord, who he is with now. It struck me that many of you may not have had the opportunity to listen to a book read by this wonderful Christian man. And, it hit me that we have a platform that allows us to provide access to great Christian Audiobooks.
An idea was born. I'm offering a book on an important topic, narrated by Dave. Narrow Gate, Narrow Way.
If you think of it, offer a prayer for those he left behind: his wife, Beth, and his children, Allan and Carrie
