We are donating 10% of our income from The Great Post Office Scandal to help Subpostmasters

We are teaming up with author Nick Wallis to donate 10% of the income received from sales of The Great Post Office Scandal to a fund aimed at helping Subpostmasters, Post Office workers and their families.

The idea came to us in a telephone call a couple of weeks back, just after the Court of Appeal judgment was handed down, when we realised that these acquittals are not the end of the story: many of those involved are still working hard to get back on their feet. We also become acutely aware that the book could only come to light with their help.

As Nick says:

“So many Subpostmasters have been so generous with their time in telling their stories over the years. For some, reliving the darkest days of their lives has been a traumatic experience, but they did it to help others. I am now delighted that 10% of the income generated by each book sold will reach some of the families and individuals who haven’t been compensated or properly compensated for what they have been through. In the next few months I hope to establish a fund which will be able to offer grants to those who need it most. Once established, the fund will also be able to receive direct donations.”

And we, of course, share those sentiments. Over the last decade we have donated monies from the sales of The Family Court Without a Lawyer to help litigants in person get representation at court. This initiative is in the same vein and gives something back to those who are at the heart of this devastating story.

We will update you on news about the fund as soon as we have more detail.
