A group of funding agencies from various countries around the world (https://www.researchsoft.org/funders-forum) is discussing the possibility of issuing a joint multilateral call to fund projects related to Research Software. The goal is to strengthen the software infrastructure aimed specifically at supporting research.
(Research Software includes source code, scripts, computational workflows, and executables created to support the research process. Software components (e.g., operating systems, libraries, dependencies, packages, scripts, etc.) that are used for research but were not created with a clear research intent should be considered software in research and not Research Software.)
We would like to receive feedback from the international scientific community to understand the needs of scientists with regard to funding the development and enhancement of Research Software, as well the associated ecosystems (e.g., training, education, and policy). This will help us in crafting a joint multilateral funding initiative.
The information you provide will be used internally by the funding agencies working under the ReSA Funders Forum (https://www.researchsoft.org/funders-forum) and won't be disseminated outside of this group. Providing your name and email is optional, and it might be used to contact you in case we need more information from you to base our decision on designing the call for proposals.
