Secrets. Everybody’s got ‘em, including me. Especially me.

The difference is mine will never be revealed, whereas I can easily get yours, assuming the price offered by your enemy is right and the scales of justice appeal to my personal standards of ethics. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. The thing that’s not so easy for a shy guy like me? Finding Ms. Right and locking her down.

Speaking of Ms. Right, the very night I was set up with Hannah Milliken by our mutual friend, I knew I’d one day kneel before her with a ring in hand. Hannah’s the kind of girl who’ll gleefully dance like a gorilla with me in the coolest nightclub or belt out a karaoke duet from Grease like her very life depends on it. She’s gorgeous, too. Funny and smart. And she even wears librarian glasses. See? Perfect.

I don’t doubt Hannah’s the one for me. Indubitably, she is. I only wonder how a dork like me could possibly land a goddess like her.

Unfortunately, when catastrophe strikes, all my questions are rendered moot. Now that Hannah knows the truth about me not actually working in cybersecurity—as well as the questionable things I’ve done to win her over—will I lose my dream girl forever, or is there still a chance for us to chase our happily ever after?

Eight years in the making...Henn the Hacker finally has his own book!! Hacker in Love is L I V E!

If you’re new to me, you should know his book is a COMPLETE standalone and does not require any prior reading whatsoever.
If you're well established with my universe, you’ll probably remember our beloved Hacker from several books you might have read: The Club, Josh & Kat, Captain, Ball Peen Hammer, or maybe The Reed Rivers Trilogy. He’s been his clever, funny, weird, genius, adorable self in all those books while performing hacks and also romancing Kat’s work bestie, Hannah Milliken.

For eight years, I swore I'd never, ever, ever write Henn's story. But after my accident as I was lying in bed, rehabbing a shattered leg, I suddenly got the best idea and started writing. AND I AM SO GLAD I DID!!!

Hacker in Love is available now in all formats including:
ebook on Amazon and free to read with your KU Subscription,
Audiobook narrated by John Lane and Lily Reynolds
Paperback and Alternate Paperback!

I loved getting Henn and Hannah’s story! These are two characters I have loved for a long time and I honestly never thought we would get their book, but I’m so glad we did!

I had such a fun time reading about this couple falling in love, and seeing so many of my favorite characters from previous books… it was fantastic. It makes me want to re-read all the Morgan brother’s books again, plus Reed Rivers trilogy. I just love them all.

The audiobook was fantastic, I couldn’t ask for better narrators. It was a wonderful read, though I did feel like it was a little on the long side and some of the conflict toward the end wasn’t my fave. Still, such a great read! I highly recommend listening to this one.

2.5 realistically

I want to start by saying i LOVE lauren's books. she has a great voice and understands the genre better than anyone. that being said, this one was unfortunately a bit of a miss for me.

for starters this book is incredibly insta love. there is LITERALLY no push and pull of will they, wont they. from the very start, they immediately admit that they like each other. i understand why some readers may enjoy this, however, part of the joy of romance for me is the build of attraction, banter, and vulnerability between the characters. and unfortunately, when insta love is present that becomes difficult to do.

additionally, the insta love diminishes the stakes of all the conflicts. there is a consistent conflict of hannah not trusting hen and feeling like everyone knows hen better than her. however, i'd argue that in the early stages of dating, his friends should know him better than she does. the insta love nature of their relationship makes hannah feel like she is closer with hen than she actually is. i felt like hannah needed to take a step back and acknowledge that she was still getting to know hen and most of the conflicts would have been resolved. and i just never felt like any of the emotional conflicts were insurmountable. i want to feel like a couple overcomes obstacles together so that i believe the HEA, but in this case, none of the emotional conflicts felt like they had any stakes.

all this being said, if you like insta love, then you'll probably like this book. this could totally be a personal preference. hannah and hen are adorably nerdy and compliment each other well. i think i just personally like it better when lauren rowe does enemies to lovers better or a slower build. this book reminded me a lot of smitten (which i had almost identical issues with) so if you like that one then im SURE you'd like this one.

i will still 100% be checking out the other things that lauren rowe writes in the future!

5 “the gangs all here” stars ✨

My “gob has officially been smacked” thanks to the AMAZINGLY AWESOME Lauren Rowe!! I discovered her in 2018 and she quickly became one of my very favorite authors. From hand flexes to crazy sexy times (Peter Hennessy could GET IT), this book kept making me clutch my chest because it felt like a reunion with all my favorite people in one book. Don’t get me wrong, you can totally read this as a standalone, but for those hardcore LR fans this book is truly a visit from all your favorite characters from all her romance books.

From day one I have been excited to get Hannah Banana and Peter, the Great’s love story and this gave everything, PLUS spotlighting all the memorable times with our other beloved characters. Only a genius can do that and that my dear, is Lauren Rowe. This book made me laugh, tear up, get frustrated and swoon with every turn of the page. I wish LR would write in this world forever merging The Morgan’s, Jonas & Sarah, Josh & Kat, Reed Rivers and The Hennessy’s continuously. My heart aches, but until next time, I can always reread her books over again and revisit these stellar characters all over again.

Cringy dialogue and inner monologue, flat characters who are given a token quirk as a substitute for an actual personality, and the narrative constantly spelling out for us what just happened as if we need a recap for what we read 2 sentences ago.

“Reason number seven billion why I like you so much: you’re fucking hilarious.”

I'm a big fan of Lauren Rowe, her sharp intelligence, fresh ideas and fabulous characters make her a must read author. I've been binge listening to her back list and even though this offshoot of her normal clan, New characters that come into play, they involve me so much, they have managed to come on par with my fondness for Morgans

“Not only was my flabber gasted, my awe was struck.”
“Also, my gob was smacked.”

A man who has superpowers to peek into other people's lives and a live wire girl who is as open as they come.
A nerd and a ray of sunshine, the best couple to end up together. Hannah Banana Montana Milliken and Peter Henn Hennesseys light up the world that runs parallel to Morgans and Reeds. They are full of charm and wit, adorably cute, fresh pair with untainted hearts.
I fell in love at every page, and the perfect pair of Hen & Hannah are supreme level of Adorbsicles
I mean a (k)night on a Sybian Chariot...oooh-la-la!!!!

#FunFact: I may have laughed my way through this story. Even when the story wasn’t all fun and games, I laughed because, nerds for the #win *happy sigh* This is one of those stories that even when circumstances are bumpy, you’re entertained. I’m not even a fan of overly dramatic books, and I’m not saying this one was OTT overall, but it had its moments, and yet I still really liked it!

You know, books are such fickle little creatures, which makes them completely unpredictable to all readers. You think you know what circumstances you like or don’t like in your reading experiences but then an author writes those exact circumstances in a way that makes your heart sing and brings you joy!! For example, I prefer insta connections/stories to be short. I prefer that because it makes sense in my head. An insta story doesn’t need much of a story build because we already got to the sweet spot at the beginning. Anything after that is just inconsequential in a romance fiction story. Okay, maybe not so far as inconsequential, but definitely nonessential, in my opinion, and this story is very much an insta story and it is not short, like not even a little! LOL And I had fun reading most of it! See, you just never know …

I’ve read and/or listened to a few of Lauren’s books in the past and although not all my experiences have been stellar, for the most part I’ve found that she’s an author who creates likeable characters I’d want to be friendly with. She creates worlds I wouldn’t mind being a part of. She’s a talented author I don’t mind #oneclicking when I see she has an upcoming release and sometimes, I’ve loved her stories so much that I’ve jumped right into the audiobook to get the fullest experience out of that story.

Well, these are my 5 cents on Hacker in Love. Go forth and don’t spend them all at one :)

Sidenote: solid 3.5 Star story but half stars are not a thing and my experience wasn't enough to bump up, so 3 Stars it is. *shrug*

I've read most of the books in this "universe" and remember liking most, if not all, of them. In this one, the hero is a nerdy computer guy and the heroine is also a bit on the nerdy side and "not a size zero"- both BIG yeses for me -so I was really looking forward to diving into this story. Unfortunately, while this did have some humorous and enjoyable moments, the book as a whole didn't work for me for several reasons.

My first issue is, at least partially, a me issue. This story is VERY insta-love. I'm kind of ok with that in a novella or otherwise short novel because you know what you're getting and there just straight up isn't time to delve deaper, but in a 550+ page book, I expect more than that. I want to see the attraction, the tension, and the development of the relationship. All of that is missing here. I know some of you enjoy an insta-love story, so if that's you, you might want to go ahead and give this a shot.

That ties into my next big problem here. This book was simply too long for the story told. There was a lot to keep up with regarding all the characters from previous books (much of which felt forced), too many "big" conflicts, and a LOT of sex - all of which felt repetitive and wholely unnecessary. None of what I mentioned is inherently a problem for me when it serves a purpose in the story, but none of this was working to actually move the story forward. Editing down about 200 pages worth of all the extra fluff and streamlining the story would have a done a LOT for my enjoyment of this book.

Lastly, while there was a lot I DID like about Henn's character, he ultimately wasn't someone I could root for. I understand he's a hacker, and there's a lot that he does that is in morally gray area that I can make myself ok with. I am NOT ok with him hacking into Hannah's phone and computer (after one date no less) to try and glean information he can use to plan future dates. He justified this by saying it's like a normal person stalking someone's social media to get info, but there's a HUGE difference in utilizing information that someone freely shared publicly and accessing information they intended to be private. I mean, the man was freaking looking at her porn choices ffs. He also gained access to information about things in Hannah's past that she definitely wouldn't have shared willingly - and acted on that information. His intentions may not have been sinister, but it was no less manipulative and cringy. I know fiction isn't reality and we encourage a lot of "bad behavior" in our storybook heroes that we would never tolerate in real life, but Henn was otherwise portrayed as this super upstanding, nerdy, "good guy", so that sort of toxic behavior just didn't jive for me.

Obviously, this book wasn't for me, but it won't dissuade me from reading other works from this author in the future.

I enjoyed reading this book. As alway Mrs. Rowe's stories are fluffy.

If you need some fluff I recommend Rowe's books. Hacker in Love is interwoven with her other story but a standalone. It is nicer to know the people you meet in this book.

Thank you Che for suggesting this for a br.

I dnf in first chapter … the entirety is just like a middle schooler writing

The first chapter alone, we meant Hannah the fmc and Kat, the coworker bestie. Kat is out in Vegas with her billionaire hookup, Josh and Hannah was talking about how is nice that Kat move to Vegas and she had more work to do to show her potential. Next thing I know, Kat called Hannah during work and introduce her to Josh’s hot friend, Henn, and they ask Hannah to move to Vegas as well?????

Like how about your work??? Hannah said she was born and raised in Seattle but ditch her city in no thoughts like how about your family??? And the whole Hannah and Henn thing is literally just a phone call of awkwardness and a few pics suddenly she is all blushing and ready to throw herself to the man???

If shit started happening in literally first chapter I would expect it to be 200 pages but this book is near 500, what will the rest be? about how their kids grow up and found love ???

Anyway I shouldn’t have trust TikTok 10 seconds rec

WOW! This book was A M A Z I N G! Lauren Rowe came in hot with this book! I have wanted Henn and Hannah's story since they were mentioned in The Club trilogy when I found out we were getting it, I was beyond excited!

Henn was such an amazing character. He was shy, dorky, boy next door kind of guy, but still sexy as hell. Hannah was sassy, fun and so easy to fall in love with! These two together bounced off each other. The chemistry between the two was sky-high and the banter had me laughing my ass off!

Lauren has the ability to pull you into the story from page one and keep you hooked until the very last page. She makes her characters fun, relatable, quirky and so easy to fall in love with. This book has to be a 2023 top read for me and a prime example of why I love the romance genre so much! It was outstanding!

This book was adorable! Hannah works at a PR company and her best friend happens to be dating a super rich guy, as a joke, Hannah asks Kat if he has any friends. The next thing you know, she’s flown out to Vegas to meet Henn, a hacker. This book showed that people who are super similar can still be so perfect for each other! Henn and Hannah both love all the same things and are absolutely infatuated with each other. Henn is so sweet and considerate, just like a golden retriever. Hannah is such a kind and gentle person, they are both perfect for each other! This book shows how communication and trust is so important for a relationship no matter how in love one is. I loved that even in a fight, the characters were both super mature and were able to acknowledge their faults. The twist was super unexpected but super fun! I really enjoyed this book!

First I must admit I love everything written by Lauren Rowe. She is a author who I avidly stalk and she is such a sweet person.

Now I loved this book in her true fashion it was a long one. Sometimes I did find myself skimming a bit so I will give it 4.5 stars because of that.

There were times I wanted to scream at Hannah for being such a hypocrite. Henn is such a sweetheart who fell instantly in love with her. It's so adorable seeing him fall everyday with her. I love that we got to see these characters after all the yrs. It will be nice to have like a spinoff series with them. I love how they all are more than friends they are family.

This book entails LOL moments, I poured some tears in the Paris scene and there was a bit of suspense.

Arc read in a exchange for a honest review.

Peter Hennessy is the shy, quiet computer nerd who's sort of a superhero among his friends. To him, no secret is safe. He can get to all of yours without breaking a sweat. He has his own secrets and not even his close friends know that he doesn't exactly work in "cyber security". To the shy nerdy type, finding Ms Right has been a problem, until his best friend's girlfriend decides to set him up with with one of her best friends... and the hacker is immediately in love!
Hanna Milliken is coming from a traumatic experience of being catfished and swindled by her latest boyfriend. So, her biggest deal breaker now is secrets and Hen, though absolutely perfect, comes enshrouded in them. Is it possible for them to ever have an HEA?
I need to preface this by saying that I loved all of Lauren Rowe's books, so I was predisposed to like this one. I just wasn't expecting to love it so much! If you read her previous books, this one fills any little gaps in the stories that may have been left by telling a little bit of the stories through Hen and Hannah's perspectives. The genius in all this (and I'm in awe of how she pulled it off so brilliantly without spoiling anything) is that she wrote a completely fresh book about characters we know and love and that can be read as a standalone and hold its own!
I loved theses two from the moment they showed up in Lauren Rowe's universe and I couldn't be happier to finally see their romance in full!
Narration: Lily Reynolds is always the perfect choice to narrate LR's books (IYKYK) and John Lane is a familiar voice to all of us fans.
There is humor, there's spice - it's quintessential Lauren Rowe!

Lauren Rowe is a relatively new-to-me author, so I wasn't jonesing for Henn's story the way some other readers were. Did I enjoy it? Absolutely. But I feel like I would have been shipping this couple more had I read LR's back catalog.

I thought Henn and Hannah were a great couple, with sizzling chemistry. I loved how he was kind of awkward and dorky, a total golden retriever of a book boyfriend, and she was sassy and a bit of a fireball. The main plot of this book revolves around Henn's lie -- he doesn't exactly work in cybersecurity the way his friends think he does, and after being swindled and catfished by the last guy she dated, Hannah has zero tolerance for liars. And that puts our friend Henn in a bit of a predicament!!

This is a super cute book, and a complete standalone. But I felt like there were a bunch of supporting players in this story that didn't necessarily *need* to be there to contribute to the story. I later came to find out that these were other characters from the LR universe and this particular couple's story was long-awaited. So while I liked this book, I am in the minority of readers that didn't seem to love parts of it…

I read an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

This would've been a 5 stars if Hannah wasn't a hypocrite, she wanted Henn to be honest with her and tell her everything without doing the same for him!!!

I get that what Henn did was wrong, he literally violated her privacy so he deserved her anger! But before that she got angry that h3 didn't tell her staff that happened way before he met her!! She got angry that he didn't tell her secrets that wasn't even his to tell!!!

I mean why care about other people's lives and secrets? Just care about your boyfriend and shut the hell up!!!!!

Henn was the sweetest guy you could've ever known same as Fish in #Smitten 😍

dnf at 6%. The writing was a joke, the fact that she could just leave for vegas out of nowhere was ridiculous.

There’s a difference between a nerd and whatever the hell this was bc the way that this character talked, you would have to assume they got droppped a lot as a child.

Booktok failed me with this one.

I absolutely ADORED Henn and Hannah!! H squared for ever, my birdhouse peeps, because these two are the definition of soul mates!!! My face hurt so much from all the smiling and laughing I did while reading, and in a genre overrun by cocky alphaholes and bullies with questionable intentions (who doesn't always take consent in consideration) it was just SO freaking nice to read about your average guy who was so kind hearted and GOOD, get the girl of his dreams. Seriously, this entire book had me swooning so hard!

If you've kept up with all of Lauren's other books, and how they all essentially tie in together (especially Jonah/Josh/Reed, and then the infamous Morgan family) then you already know that Henny and Hannah met, fell in love and got married, but this time we see it happen in real time, while also getting glimpses of alllllll that happened with their friends/found family from their perspective. The fact that Lauren could keep everything accurate, down to the tiniest detail, just proves she's an author you must have on your list. That was just SO cool!

As for the actual romance, these two are smitten and infatuated with one another right away! I love how Hannah was Curvy and confident, and Henn just loved everything about her. And although maybe he didn't always do everything quote on quote the right way, he had the purest of intentions and just wanted to make sure that Hannah always knew how much she meant to him. And that craziness at the end?! OH BOY, what a ride!!

I could go on and on about these two, but if you're in the mood for a really sweet hero, who gets the girl of his dreams and will do everything possible to keep getting her, read this!!

You can’t help but love Henn and Hannah. After being set up on a blind date by their best friends-these two just know they are meant to be. They are both fun, caring and just the sweetest ….it’s like they speak their own language and they understand each-other completely.

These two have an instant special and deep connection, which leads to some fantastic chemistry and steam. They build a beautiful relationship, share so many similarities are goofy, silly and able be themselves.
It is wholesome and genuine between them.
You can’t help but smile when Henn and Hannah are together and want nothing more than for them to succeed and be happy.
They feel safe and trusting with one another to explore things they have never been able to, it gets spicy.

Both Henn and Hannah are holding on to some secrets, leaving you wondering if the strength of their connection will be enough. But when Henn’s withholding and actions come out, will they be able to work together through all the things they’ve hidden, or with it be then to the trust they easily had from the start?

I enjoyed the timeline of this, we really got to experience their whole relationship and meet all their close friends that have created this found family.
This is a great standalone read, but also gives you a lot of teasers and catching up with other characters in the fantastic world this author has created. I was so happy to finally be able to read Henn and Hannah’s full story after seeing them in a lot of the other books. These two really earned their HEA and are so perfect for each other.

Henn and Hannah are set up by their best friends Kat and Josh. Josh arranges for Hannah to fly to Las Vegas to spend the week with Kat and meet Henn,

Henn and Hannah have the most instant love I have ever read. From the moment he sees her, he instantly is thinking of her as his future wife. The connection is just that strong between the two of them. They are almost carbon copies of each other and every way. They always say that once you meet your match, you will know and is Hannah and Henn to a tee.

But with that instant love and connection, comes secrets from both ends. Henn is lying about a lot of things in his life and Hannah isn’t being completely open about her past. So even though their connection is so strong, will they their relationship be able to survive once all of the secrets come to light?

This book just shows that even though they say opposites attract, people who are completely the same can also work out and have a strong connection. One thing I will say, there are a lot of side stories about numerous different couples and I wish that I would read those books prior because I think I would have felt differently about certain situations. But even with that said, I never felt lost with reading this as a standalone.

What I love about Lauren Rowe and her books is that you can come into them as a first time reader or an OG and each have the same experience. If you're an OG, the world of hers that she has so masterfully created, is enhanced more and more, deeper and deeper. If this is your first ever read, you will be welcomed to a world of fun, swoon-worthy stories of not just some sexy men, but hot sexy powerful women, too.

Hacker in Love is the long anticipated story of Henn and Hannah. Again, if you're new to the Rowe World, it's fine, you don't need to know anything, you'll love it, but definitely want to learn more afterwards. If you're an OG, you'll love finding out about our friends computer geek bestie and his other half Hannah, in more detail.

Henn is just that loveable geek and Hannah is that sweet girl who has been hurt in the past and needs someone to figure out the code to hack into her heart. When their two worlds collide, even amongst their instant connect, can they keep the heat going and find that trust to stay together?

If this is your first read, pick up The Club Trilogy, which is Sarah and Jonas' story, for more details of not only all these characters, but the whole world of Lauren Rowe.

I lucked out and grabbed the audible version of this when they accidentally had it available for a few hours. I couldn't wait to dive in. Lauren Rowe is one of my favorite one click authors.

This book didn't disappoint. It reminded me a lot of her book Smitten. The hero is not the typical "hot" guy with the "hot" body. Hen is the average guy who gets the girl. I love his nerdy speak and how much Hannah compliments him.

If you've read the other books in this world, this fits right in like the perfect puzzle piece. Lauren did an amazing job making sure all the events lined up. This fits right into the stories of the other couples and it was awesome to see this couples' POV for all of these events. This book really completed this world for me. It was pretty awesome that she wrote a story for every side character that we asked her to write.

Lauren also did a good job not spoiling the storylines of other books that run concurrently or occur after this one. The Easter eggs in this one were plentiful.

If you have not read any of her books before, you don't need to read them to enjoy this story. It can be read completely as a standalone. But I will warn you, all the side characters have their own stories and you will want to dive right into them.

This is a one click if you love the average Joe.

Hannah Banana Montana Milliken and Peter Henn Hennesseys. They may actually be the same person in male and female form.

Everyone is shooketh when they see the two of them together, they can’t believe how well suited they are. They have their own adorable way of speaking, like the same things, and have a great connection which I think even surprised them. Her bestie Kat Morgan knew and set them up, she fancies herself an expert matchmaker.

I like Hannah and Henn from the previous book and could not wait for their love story. It’s rocky in some parts but full of humor, love, romance, and a bit of drama. You will fall in love with Henn and Hannah.
