Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
The USET Tribal Health Program Support (THPS) is exploring an
opportunity to apply for a grant through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration (SAMHSA). To gauge initial interest from our
membership, USET is seeking four (4) member Tribal Nations to potentially be
subrecipients as part of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 SAMHSA, Grants for the
Benefit of Homeless Individuals (Notice of Funding
Opportunity No. TI-23-005; Assistance Listing Number: 93.243)
funding opportunity. Additionally, if a
member Tribal Nation plans to apply for the for the funding opportunity
individually, we ask that you share that information so that we can discuss
collaboration opportunities.
The purpose of this program is to provide comprehensive,
coordinated, and evidence-based treatment and services for individuals,
including youth, and families with substance use disorders (SUDs) or
co-occurring mental health conditions (CODs) and SUDs who are
experiencing homelessness.
Subrecipients will be expected to: 1) engage and connect the population of focus to behavioral health treatment, harm reduction services, case management, and recovery support services; 2) Assist with identifying sustainable permanent housing by collaborating with homeless services organizations and housing providers, including public housing agencies; and 3) Provide case management that includes care coordination/service delivery planning and other strategies that support stability across services and housing transitions.
The anticipated sub-recipient award amount for each of the four (4) Tribal Nations will range from $25,000-$100,000 per year, for up to five (5) years. The final determination for USET applying to this opportunity is dependent upon interest from USET’s membership as well as alignment with THPS goals. All final subrecipient and budget amounts will be determined through the application process and communication regarding application requirements will be forthcoming.
