I listened to you [Daniel] and Nouk on the webinar #1 about Helen's Notes. I loved two stories...firstly your story about welding the metal frames, using Holy Spirit's Guidance, and then Nouk's story about forgiveness of the roadrunner bird that was eating your garden animals.
Today I started a task, to stack old slabs of slate onto a wooden pallet for forklift removal. About two cubic metres of slate, and dusty with red-back spiders and webs all through the stack.
So, initially I was thinking in geometry terms - very left brain and intellect-based - how will the pieces fit? And also, as the black spiders came out to greet me, I was initially using traditional approaches like insect spray and trying to get rid of the spiders before they bit me...
And then I remembered your beautiful story, my friend, about welding, and also Nouk's story of how she forgave the roadrunner, and saw the forgiveness and peace of Christ in the bird...and the bird moved out and let your garden alone...
So I forgave the spiders, seeing them as children of God, and perfect, and just living their eight-legged lives, and deserving of my love. And from that moment, as I picked each dusty and web-covered slab of slate up, the spiders had gone. None. Just a bit of dust to sweep away. No spray. No standing on the little creatures. They had moved away and were not to be seen any more. A miracle. And I felt the peace and certainty of God as I reached further into the pile for each piece of stone.
