All members of CUPE 4600 are invited to a Special General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, March 15th, at 7pm (Today)
As we inch closer and closer to possible strike action, we need everyone to understand how the strike will function, how it could affect you as a worker at Carleton, and how to stay safe while picketing.
At this meeting we will be discussing the following:
- How to get paid during the strike
- How to sign up for picketing shifts
- Accommodations
- Strike deadline
- bargaining updates
- ways to get involved
You can see the meeting agenda here
How to join the meeting?
The meeting will be a hybrid meeting, meaning it will be both online and in person.
The in-person meeting will take place in Azrieli Theatre 102, and the online portion will be done through Zoom, at this link.
Accessibility
CUPE 4600 strives to make our meetings as accessible as possible for our members. It is our goal to ensure that all members can participate fully in all aspects of the union. If you have any accessibility needs that you would like us to be aware of, please email mobcor@cupe4600.ca to make arrangements.
The room will be wheelchair accessible, and we will have vegetarian/vegan food options.
Childcare
The Child Care Benefit From The CUPE 4600 policy is accessible to both Contract Instructors and Teaching Assistants. It is intended to help cover childcare costs for members while they are participating in union activities, such as meetings or pickets. Reimbursement is $3/hour for subsidized childcare, or $6/hour for non-subsidized childcare. This benefit is administered by the Secretary Treasurer (treasurer@cupe4600.ca) and VP Internal (vp.internal@cupe4600.ca). You can contact them to make a claim. Any child care provider that can provide a receipt is acceptable
