An Australian philanthropic giving circle changing the lives of women and girls - locally, nationally and globally

About us

100 Women is an Australian philanthropic giving circle founded in March 2014. 100 Women enables everyday people to be involved in creating a world where all women and girls can live safely, with access to health, education, and economic freedom. We do this by combining our donations and knowledge to provide impactful grants. You can become a member from as little as $25 a month and 100% of your donation goes directly to the grassroots organisations that we fund. As a member - you get the opportunity to vote where the funding goes. All membership fees and direct website donations are tax deductible.

On the weekend, some of the 100 Women team got to attend a fundraising morning with our 2022 Grant recipient Living Child Inc. Our minds were blown. We are in awe of the incredible, tireless, passionate work of the Living Child staff and their in-field volunteers in the East Sepik region in Papua New Guinea - which is said to be one of the most remote places in the world. Even the global aid funds do not work in this region. Sara David AM, Founding CEO (pictured on the right) shared with us her journey of starting this small Perth based charity after first meeting the community more than a decade ago. At the time, she was one of the first western people to travel to this region to support the health and wellbeing of expectant and new mothers. After her first visit, the women were howling when she left and this stayed with her, she knew there was no other help coming. She promised to return again and again. To teach, to support and to walk alongside this community. Unfortunately in recent months, the community have been impacted by two natural disasters - floods and an earthquake. The 100 Women board responded in April by approving an alteration to their grant, to support a midwife volunteer to travel there and provide life saving aid through this difficult time for women and their children. You too can support Living Child with donations or become a regular donor. This is the only way they can continue to provide this service - where no other NGO will. https://lnkd.in/gsupJzv9

Well done Orana House on gaining more media around the incredible "Housing Families" program that 100 Women members voted to fund $50,000 toward last year. Orana House have so far (2024) housed more than 30 women directly through their Impact Agents and supported more than 100 women into homes through the Housing Families program. This program is working. If you are a Landlord in Perth and have the capacity to lease your property to a woman (and children) fleeing FDV - please get in touch with Orana House. This act of kindness could change lives for the better and for generations to come.

Men's Violence. Today is National Remembrance Day for the countless victims of Family and Domestic Violence. It serves as a solemn reminder of lives cut short and the families and communities forever changed. Today is also the commencement of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month. The number of women being killed by men in Australia is being described as a "national emergency". We need government, businesses, communities and individuals to stand up and address this crisis with real and rapid action. 100 Women will continue to support charities working at the coal face of this crisis and we will not stop until this narrative changes. #RemembranceDay #equalityforall #philanthropy #EndGenderViolence

Our members always share with us that the best part about our Gala Dinner each year is the grant recipient speeches that leave the audience with tears and with hope. Last week some of the 100 Women team had the opportunity to attend the launch of the stunning redevelopment and home of Sexual Health Quarters in Northbridge, Perth. Congratulations to Debra Barnes and the entire team at Sexual Health Quarters (2022 Grant recipients) on a wonderful evening celebrating a beautiful new space for all. Educating, informing and empowering people to enjoy sexual health and relationship wellbeing has been the core purpose of Sexual Health Quarters since 1972 and we are so happy to see this charity grow from strength to strength.
