Art, Technology and Information

The Mapping Festival 2023, in Le Commun, questions the links between "Art, technology and information" from the point of view of the reciprocal relationship between humans and technology. By mixing artistic and interactive installations, participative projects, conferences, debates, workshops and cryptobars, we invite you to a collective, playful and argued reflection on the evolution of information and communication technologies (ICT) and their place in our society.

At the opening, a conference by Joanie Lemercier and Juliette Bibasse will address the links between "Art, Tech and Activism" before the discovery of the exhibition which will be animated by a performance by Katsuki Nogami "Yamada Taro Project". From the next day, workshops and cryptobars, led by experts, await you to refine your knowledge on electromagnetic waves, amateur radio, cybersecurity or the dark web. To go even deeper into the subject, three round tables will be an opportunity to cross the views of different actors - artists, scientists, hacktivists, journalists - on the themes of AI, information and cybersecurity and to encourage exchanges. The overall idea is to conduct a collective reflection on the society of tomorrow and perhaps to imagine a future democratic utopia inherent in the direction of technological progress.

True to its interdisciplinary approach, this eclectic exhibition honours young creators with an exhibition created by students from ECAL, "Fantastic Smartphones", and works by artists from HEAD, "Wetland" and the Lucern School of Art and Design, "Don't Answer Be Happy", as well as other creators with "Binary Deconstruction", "EMET" and the participative project "We Are Millions".
