Its the author's personal oddsey into how he came about his concept of Metaphysics of Quality distilled with a biographical account of his motorcycle journey across the States. Its a bloody tough read and definiyely requires multiple readings but its worth it for a curious mind. If highest impact any work of art can have on anyone is how it makes you think; how your perpective shifts and changes your worldview then this is that work of art. Its informative, reflective, insightful and towards the end, poignantly emotional.

This book is not a very dense in its structure, quite direct in tone. But some of the concepts that he lays down are not easy to understand at all. I have had this book for more than 2 years and i still go back to it and read parts of it. It has many quotable lines that are really eye opening and comforting for some reason. Its safe to say that this is my favourite book of all time.

There is nothing more down to Earth than fixing an old motorcycle.

So many memorable quotes from this.

A timeless classic. So many anecdotes from eastern philosphy, prisig's time in India.

Could have been shorter, but it was just like a motorcycle ride.

The get to book for someone who loves motorycles.

Well I must say it's one of those books which is a totally not an easy read. To start with there is this motorcycle trip and lots of self talk. The talks at ti eare so lengthy and there is so much of here and there. There were talks of philosophy, of human behaviour complexities, insanely long conversation on quality. It could have been compressed greatly. Though people have given this book amazing ratings and for that reason I picked it up, due to the unnecessary length of it the message I feel is lost somewhere.

Excellent read , have been reading it from my teens, must be the 5 th time I am reading it now, each time it’s being a different experience. It like a olive tree more the maturity more the value. But a note of caution it’s not exclusive about motor cycles. It’s a difficult read . But as you grow older with it you will realize the value more.

Wow! There are pats of Zen that spin far beyond my comprehension but the parts I do understand have made me a better, more compassionate person. The cycle journey is epic, his understanding of technology and human reactions to it are profound and prophetic. This is one you want to reread every few years.
