Colton St. George is the league’s star quarterback, the most eligible bachelor in the country, and the poster boy for “nice guy”. Everyone wants a piece of him. Including me—because I need him in front of my camera to raise money for charity.

There’s just one problem.

Before he was famous, I took his already broken heart and shattered it. So he only agrees to do the photos on one condition—I go first. In his home, at his discretion. And in private? He isn’t quite the good guy I remember. Before I know what's happening we're unraveling in a game of favors and bets. One I’m not sure either of us can win

When Joss returns to Seattle for a visit with friends between photography gigs, she knows there’s a good chance she’ll run into Colton. Star quarterback for the Phantom, most eligible bachelor, and a flawless reputation, he’s the one she can’t forget.

Can I just say that I love all the characters in this series? Alex stole my heart, but Colton… Dang! He is just as sweet and filthy as his teammate and I ain’t mad at it. In all seriousness though, Maggie is solidifying herself as a one-click author for me. The connected worlds and overlapping storylines have sucked me in and I can’t wait for more from Seattle.

Let me start out by saying the dirty talk in this book was so freaking HOT. There’s something so hot about a good boy with a dirty mouth. I absolutely loved the frenemies to lover, second chance, opposite’s attract tropes. After reading Pick Six I couldn’t wait to read Joss and Colton’s story and it surpassed my expectations!

Joss is in town between shoots and after much pleading on Violet’s part, ends up staying with her and Ben. While she’s happy to spend time with the two love birds, it’s their connection to the one boy whose heart she shattered back in college, that’s the problem.

Colton St. George, the classically handsome, beyond wholesome farm boy, and now pro quarterback, is everything Joss shouldn’t want. He’s not her type, or so she claims, but there’s still a spark between them that just won’t die. With him & Ben being best friends and both playing for the Phantom, he’s completely unavoidable.

The more time forced together thanks to their meddling friends has the tension rising between them to the point of boiling over, and I swear I was on the on the verge of combusting just a few chapters in. Joss and Colton are fire & gasoline, the chemistry between them and the banter—fantastic 👌🏻 & my god, who knew the Priest had such a filth mouth on him 🥵

I think they might be my favorite couple, ever.

A fun, flirty, wildly sexy, almost-second-chance, enemies-to-lovers sports romance, this book is chock-full of fabulous tropes, and it’s such an enjoyable read!

This is the second book in the Seattle Phantom Football series, and though there is some character crossover between the first book in this series, and books in Rawdon’s previous series, Plays & Penalties, you can read this one as a standalone.

Joss is the best friend of Violet, and we first met her in Reverse Pass (Plays & Penalties, #4). She’s bold, flirtatious and completely filterless, and she loves her wild and free life travelling as a freelance photographer. She’s taking a break between jobs to visit Violet and her NFL star husband, Ben in Seattle, and her trip gets all kinds of awkward when she’s also reunited with Ben’s best friend, Colton, who is her ex-hook-up.

Colton is the star quarterback for the Seattle Phantom, and he is the golden boy of the league, with a reputation for being a good guy on and off the field. He’s quiet and reserved, and a total sweetheart! Joss and Colton have history from college, where she, as an older woman, took the young, virginal and recently broken-hearted Colton under her wing and became his sexual mentor, teaching him all the tricks and having a marvellous time doing it. It ended when Colton fell for Joss and she, being completely allergic to relationships and feelings, ran. They haven’t seen each other since, and they don’t particularly want to see each other now, but they’re suddenly back in each other’s worlds, and it’s clear that the chemistry is still strong.

She’d ruined me for most other women. I’m still hopeful I could find one. One who could make my heart beat this fast. Make my cock this hard. I didn’t hurt for options, but so far, she’s it.

They don’t hide from it, they both admit that their mad lust for each other is still there, but they both recognise the complicated feelings that exist between them, so they agree to just ignore it. Except they can’t, and they end up in this weird game of sexual chicken, not wanting to be the one who breaks, but baiting the other to crack first. It’s entertaining, and so damn smutty, and I loved watching it all unfold.

I want this man to wreck me. Take me and have his way with me any way he wants, however and whenever that is.

Colton may be a good guy, but Joss taught him to be all kinds of dirty, and in their time apart, he’s grown in confidence. Though she was once the one in control – not any longer.

“I’d do anything for you…So you can have the obedient boy you remember, or you can have the man you wants to fuck you how you deserve. But you have to choose.” … “Just know either way, for the rest of the time you’re here – you’re mine.”

Luckily, Joss is there for it, and when the tension snaps, it’s freaking on!

“This new version of you…the bossy-in-charge one. I think I might like it.”
“You might need it.”

Oh my God, these two are so freaking hot together! But while the sexy time is easy, natural and off the charts intense, things are more complicated emotionally. Though Colton is cautious, his feelings are right out there, but Joss is more complex. She lives her life untethered, and she’s legitimately fearful. They have a bit to figure out, but it’s a great journey watching them do that.

I need this woman like I need air. She’s mine now and always. I just have to make her see it.

This is a fun read, with just the right amount of emotion, and I loved seeing Colton and Joss get their happy ending.

Loved it – 4 stars.

4 STARS

Maggie Rawdon is quickly becoming a fave football romance author of mine. This is the 5th novels of hers, and I really enjoy her writing.

Overtime focuses on a second chance romance between the H and h. They were together in college and fell apart, as he wants solid and steady and she wants to be able to travel wherever and take photography jobs all over the world.

They come back together as adults, and let’s just say the sparks fly immediately! I loved who they were together in and out of the bedroom, and it was a great storyline. I fully love this whole team and the world she created!

☆ 5/5 & 3.5/5 spice

I’ve been putting this book off because I knew I was going to devour it in one sitting and fall in love with Joss and Colt. Like I said before, anything Maggie writes is a freaking automatic 5 star from me because it was that good. I’M OBSESSED. I’ve never highlighted so many things in a book before, but the banter, angst, sexual tension, heartfelt moments, and spice between these two were through the roof.

Joss is sassy, bold, and flirty. She has been traveling for her job as a photographer and feels somewhat lost in her life. She decides to

Colt is the star quarterback. He’s such a sweet guy and is labeled as “priest” by his teammates. Colt is anything but priest-like. He radiates golden retriever energy, but also has a filthy mouth that will make you melt.

“I’d do anything for you… so you can have the obedient boy you remember, or you can have the man you want to f*ck you how you deserve. But you have to choose.”

Joss fell hard for Colt, but he falls harder. Colt and Joss spend a lot of time with Ben and Violet, so they are always forced to be around each other. Despite not seeing each other for a while, the attraction and feelings they have never left.

Two words. Aquarium scene. 😮‍💨

I loved seeing the strong friendship dynamic between everyone. The friendship that Violet and Joss have seriously warms my heart.

Joss and Colt were perfect and I enjoyed this book so much. HIGHLY recommend!

I loved this book! I was so excited to read Colton and Joss' book and I enjoyed it a lot.

Joss is a very well known photographer who travels for work. Colton plays professional football for the Phantom. They had a connection while they went to college together but Joss broke Colt's heart by leaving him. Now, she's back in town and they both realize that their "connection" never died. Now, their chemistry is even hotter because Colton is not the young, handsome farmboy Joss knew in college. He is all dark and a dirty man and she is loving it! Whew! The banter between these two is just so good!

I have been loving everything Maggie has written so far and this one did not disappoint! I am so looking forward to her next book in this series! I highly recommend this book!

I knew I was going to love Joss and Colt and Maggie BROUGHT it!! Enemies-ish to Lovers; second chance; dirty talk; toys...it was just delicious.

Joss was a sassy IDGAF attitude FMC and Colt was a dirty mouthed cinnamon roll MMC and I loved them both. The story and the spice were spot on and honestly the fact there is no third act break up makes it 10x better. This is book two in the series and you ABSOLUTELY should read Alex and Harper were JUST as good!!

Colton & Joss

I absolutely loved these two in their frenemies to lovers second chance romance! Joss is a wild child and fiercely independent and a little jaded towards love and men so naturally it doesn’t end great for her and Colt the first time around. But now is a whole new story for them as she is back with her friends and Colt is every bit as incredible as he was in college just now a little older. I liked how Joss’s character grew up in a way and started to really face her feelings and their history. It had such tender and heartfelt moments but her fiery attitude also had me cracking up when those two go into those playful moments.

Colt was a surprise. I expected a good boy who is vanilla as they come. His nicknames are Farm Boy and Priest for crying out loud but what we got was a delicious alpha of a man named Colton that has you melting. I would climb that man like a tree. Their teasing was so charged and electric and while they were trying to stay away to win the bet…. God they were tantalizing and teased the reader just as much as they did each other. When they caved finally it was glorious and to see Colt be so commanding with her. Absolute perfection!

Listen, the love that I have to Wordsmith for sending me Pick Six by Maggie is indescribable. I couldn't put it down and was so excited when Overtime came out and this baby arrived in my mail box. Maggie is so GOOD yall! You will not want to put her down, I promise you that.

Colt and Joss have a past and they've basically been running from it for years. But when Joss returns to help with a non-profit, they're forced to be around each other again. It doesn't help that their best friends are married. The chemistry that these two have is just...whew. So HOT! Colt is the hottest quarterback in the NFL and Joss is everything that he wants but the opposite of who people except him to be with. UGH I love them so much! When I tell you that the spice that she writes is top tier....::fans myself::. It's SO good!

I can promise you that once you pick Maggie up, you won't be able to to put her down! She is absolutely one of my faves in the sports romance genre and I just love her and her characters.

(I received an ARC for this book)

Trigger Warnings include:
discussions of parental death (off page), discussions of depression and anxiety, verbally and emotionally abusive parent, descriptive sports injury on page, mention of vehicle accident, bondage play

Joss’s right hand woman is married to Colton’s right hand man. Which means the right amount of meddling and being stuck together when they would rather be miles apart. Like they’ve been, for years. They were different people all that time ago. Colt knew Joss never meant to hurt him, but that doesn’t change the fact that he was hurt, and left to pick up the pieces. Playing nice turns into something SO much more! It turned into delicious tenson that was so hot is was on the edge of bursting into flames from the start! And things only got hotter! All that sexual tension meant perfect banter and I LOVED it! I also loved their vulnerability, their inability to hide from each other. The way Colt looked at Joss, the way he thought but her? I obviously formed a crush, and serious FOMO. Plus, I loved Joss as a character and everything she said and did. The happy tears that poured from me during chapter 45. And then continued through chapter 46. Colton is my new favorite football brute not afraid to yell his emotions when they get too big for him to hide anymore!

"You ruined me for anyone else.... there is no one else who comes close..."

Overtime is book #2 in the Seattle Phantom series by Maggie Rawdon. When I saw the teaser in Pick Six that Joss & Colton might potentially get a story I was so excited!!!

FYI there is some character crossover from Maggie's other series but as someone who hadn't read that series this was still easy to read as a stand-alone.

My rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🔥🔥🔥

If you love these tropes, then you will enjoy reading this book :)
- Sports Romance
- Second Chance
- Frenemies with Benefits
- Forced Proximity
- Opposites Attract
- He Falls First
- Age Gap

Colt & Joss had a brief friends with benefits relationship in college when Colt was just coming out of a relationship and Joss helped him get his confidence back by teaching him "new tricks" as the older more experienced woman. When Colt declares he loves her, Joss bolts leaving Colt heartbroken.

In the present, Colt plays in the NFL for the Seattle Phantom and Joss is a well-travelled photographer who comes to town to help Harper with organising a fundraiser for the museum.

Colt and Joss are both filled with dread at the thought of being reunited but are forced to as they are best friends with Ben and Violet, who Joss is home to visit and stay with as their guest.

Colt and Joss make a deal that they can still be friends but also challenge each other to see who will cave first. I mean this could get tricky considering Joss asks Colt to pose naked for photos as part of her fundraising idea to save Harper's museum.....

They are both focused on their careers and seem to be on different paths. Neither think they will ever be on the same page in this life time to be together. Will they both be wrong and find their happily ever after? You will have to read to find out!

This book was such an amazing story of two people who are polar opposites and shouldn't work but just are perfect for each other.

The spice was so so good!!! Their chemistry made me get all flustered! The things they did to see who would cave first!🥵 I felt like the nicknames Priest (by Colt's teammates) and Farm Boy (by Joss) were deceptive to the mouth on Colt! 🥵🥵

If I didn't say how much I loved this book, I am going to say it again! Maggie knows how to write a 5 star sports romance book!! I am so excited for what's next which I hope is Tobias and Scarlett's story!!

Thanks to Maggie and Wordsmith Publicity for kindly sending me this arc to read and review. This review is my own honest opinion on the book :)

This second chance romance has such delicious sexual tension throughout, it’s a very hot & spicy opposites attract story.
Colton is a nice guy from the Midwest, clean cut, the golden boy Quarterback of the NFL. He has a reputation for being a great guy who doesn’t play around with women.
Joss is tatted, pierced and has an edgy vibe. She’s artistic, she’s a bit of a nomad who doesn’t believe she will ever fall in love. I really love her bold, give no f*cks personality, it made her kindness so much more meaningful.
Both are singularly focused on their careers, they don’t make time for dating or relationships. Hookup’s only, they both feel they don’t have the time or ability to have a relationship. It goes a bit deeper and adds a little bit of angst to the story.
The two had a brief, intense relationship in college that ended with a broken heart.
Their two best friends are married to each other so yet again they find themselves in each others orbit and it brings in the adversarial vibes that are fraught with sexual tension to explosive levels.
I love that the pair are playing a sexual game of chicken with each other. They have a bet and they both flirt, tease and push each other’s buttons to extreme levels. It is so entertaining, so sexy and builds such amazing anticipation.
The emotional things they are dealing with individually add another layer to this story.
I love the banter so much, I love the quips traded and the sexy teasing is so yummy.
Joss was the more experienced one in college and Colton was innocent but eager to learn. This aspect is a fun part of their dynamic. Time may have changed the dynamic and the way they express themselves sexually, it’s a really great part of their story. I love how it spices things up in unexpected ways for both characters.
I love this couple so much, the story has a high spice factor with tons of emotions and entertaining moments throughout. It’s a really engaging, fun, sexy and heartfelt story.
Colton is so swoony, sexy and intelligent.
I love the care, patience and maturity they both show for each other. I think because there is the past hurt they both feel, it show so much growth and true regret. The way they treat each other is really romantic.
It is part of a series and interconnected characters from a previous series, but in can be read as a standalone. I’ve enjoyed all the previous books and recommend them all as 4.5 or 5 star reads. The secondary characters are fantastic.
I can’t wait for more from this series and author. I’m always left satisfied and I’m love with a new couple. The author writes multifaceted characters with heart, tons of spice and a unique story every time.

This is book #2 in the Seattle Phantom series, following Colton & Jocelyn. We met these two back in Maggie’s Plays & Penalties series (book #4). Joss was Violet’s roommate & Colt was Ben’s teammate back in college. While in college, Colt & Joss had a brief friends with benefits relationship until Colt caught feelings & Joss broke his already bruised heart.

Years later, Colt plays in the NFL for the Seattle Phantom & Ben is still his teammate. So when Joss comes to town to visit Ben & Violet, things quickly become complicated as neither of them have ever really moved on from each other. They decide they can still be friends despite how things last ended between them & they end up making a bet on who will cave first & ask to hook up. Neither of them is looking for a relationship as they are both fully committed to their careers. So can they repair their friendship while also fighting their undeniable connection?

I loved this book! I’ve been waiting for Colt & Joss’s story ever since we met them in Reverse Pass & their banter was unmatched. I also really wanted to see Colt get a happy ending after getting his heart brutally stomped on by his ex. I love how well he understood Joss & always tried to give her exactly what she needed. I think they really balanced each other out well & it was really sweet to see them finally give into how much they love & care for each other.

Tobias’s story is next & I absolutely cannot freaking wait. His brother Easton was my favorite in the Plays & Penalties series & I already know I’m going to love Tobias just as much 😏

Joss is visiting her best friends, Violet and Ben, in Seattle, but the only problem is that she might run into her ex, Colton St. George. He is the quarterback for the Seattle Phantoms, and just so happens to be best friends with Ben.

𝐼'𝓂 𝑔𝑜𝓃𝓃𝒶 𝑔𝒾𝓋𝑒 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓌𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓌𝒶𝓃𝓉 𝒻𝒾𝓇𝓈𝓉, 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓃 𝐼'𝓂 𝑔𝑜𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓉𝑜 𝓉𝒶𝓀𝑒 𝓌𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝐼 𝓃𝑒𝑒𝒹.

Joss asks Colton if he will pose nude for a charity project that will help her friend out, and he has one major condition: she has to pose first, and he wants the photos.

𝐼 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓌𝒶𝓎 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓈𝑜𝓊𝓃𝒹 𝓌𝒽𝑒𝓃 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒸𝑜𝓂𝑒. 𝐼𝓉'𝓈 𝑜𝓃𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝓂𝓎 𝒻𝒶𝓋𝑜𝓇𝒾𝓉𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑔𝓈 𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓁𝒹.

These two want to hate each other, but they just can't help finding ways to spend time together. Overtime has some HOT banter, sexual tension, and SPICE, and who could resist Colton's filthy mouth?

Joss must have fallen and hit her head one too many times because I don't know why she wouldn't want to snatch Colton up; he is the whole package and more. I mean, the sweet things he does, and he buys her a building?! Swoon.

Maggie is an amazing author, and I am loving all her books. I can't wait to read Wild Card.

I was really excited to read this book, the hints of the characters from the previous book in the series (Pick Six) really intrigued me and I thought their story had a lot of potential. Unfortunately it did fall quite short of my expectations in terms of plot content. I felt like I was reading a sequel but I never read the initial story, there were a lot of references to their past without actually talking about the details. I felt there were a lot of missed opportunities for expanding on their history. I haven't read the previous series, where presumably you get those details from their story so maybe that's why I felt this fell a little flat.
I did find it a little frustrating that even though the book has been marketed as a kind of second-chance, she broke his heart and now they can't be in a room without making everyone feel awkward, the very first scene where they're alone jumps straight into sex talk? Maybe I just prefer a little slow burn with a truer hate-to-love plot but it felt a little rushed to me.
Generally speaking, the chemistry between them was great, and I liked that they were both a little scared of showing their hand in case it scared the other away. I loved the growth of the characters throughout, where it was clear they were maturing and learning how to navigate their adult relationship, when previously they'd been immature and inexperienced.

If you're looking for no plot just vibes, this is a great pick, but if you want a bit more substance to your smut, you might be disappointed.

Joss knows that when she returns to Seattle, she's going to run into Colton St. George the Seattle Phantom quarterback.
Especially when she needs him in front of her camera to raise money for charity.
But for that to happen, he wants her to do it first.

Joss and Colt are just perfect together no matter how much they try to fight it. The sexual chemistry is off the charts!

Joss may have taught him everything when they were together before, but Colt has some new tricks now.

So, I loved Alex from Pick Six, but Colt... Wow! This man has an insanely dirty mouth, and I'm here for it!

I highlighted so much for this story, and I devoured it so fast because I just couldn't put it down.

Maggie has quickly become a one click author for me.
I absolutely love how her stories interconnect, and we get more from my favourite characters with hints for what's to come, too 🩷

The tension was EVERYTHING 🥵🤌🏻 Colton has the filthiest mouth and the growth was amazing for each character.

Joss and Colton used to be friends with benefits…. Unless it because more and he admitted something that sent her running.
Now she is back and is needing to take *smexy* photos of the #1 NFL Quarterback in the league and the only way he agrees is if she goes first… 😏

Colt & Joss have insane chemistry. And the mouth on Colt… Whew! They annoyed me a little with their back and forth, but I still really liked it. I’m excited for Tobias’s story.

Harper & Alex are still my current favorites

‘The way he can talk to me like that one second and then hold my hand like we’re at the fairgrounds the next makes my heart do something that feels suspiciously like palpitations.’

Colton St George- WOW!
Midwestern farm boy, college football star turned pro quarterback. Once upon a time he had a thing with Joss, and now she’s back staying with their mutual best friends Ben and Violet. They haven’t seen each other in years- she travels the world as a photographer, his focus is all on football. Their attraction and chemistry never left, but what about any feelings that might have been involved first time round?

Colton is a dream, I loved him.
Joss I found harder to like. At first I really struggled to connect with her, but she did grow on me as the book went on, particularly nearer the end.

I loved seeing the rest of the gang, and if you haven’t already I’d definitely recommend going back to read Maggie’s college football series (it’s fantastic) as well as Pick Six (Alex and Harper’s book, also fantastic) before this if you can. The side characters and parts of the story will definitely make a bit more sense, but I’m sure this would be enjoyable as a stand alone too.

Thank you so much to the author for this arc in exchange for my honest review. Please tell me we’re getting Tobias next?!

Overtime by Maggie Rawdon

Joss & Colton 🏈❤️

Maggie scored another touchdown with this book! She has quickly become one of my favorites and my go to for Football romances!! I should change my bookmark to "Feral for Maggie's Football Players".

While Alex may have inspired it... Colt sure lives up to it as well! With all that good boy, wholesome charm! But holy smokes, that dirty mouth!!! 🥵🤤🫠 who would have thunk?!

& Joss! That girl is a spitfire! I love her and her sass! She puts up a good fight! But I love her even more in those moments where she let's her guard down and becomes vulnerable enough to let her insecurities show! And the way Colton shows her that she IS and deserves more! 👨‍🍳💋

Colton and Joss have history! That ended in heartbreak. While they know the score all those old feelings surface. Both independent and career driven. Who will cave first in the cat and mouse game they are playing!

This book is spicy!!! 🥵 There's that push and pull we all love, chemistry and tension! Fighting feelings but also playing with fire! It's hot! When they finally cave will it all go up in smoke or end in happily ever after?!

This book was so freaking good! It had everything I needed in more! And I absolutely loved every minute of it and more!!! Can not wait for the next one!!! Give me all the goods!
