Christie Running For President Again. As Most Unpopular Governor In NJ History.

Short Timeline of Chris Christie’s 29 Years In Politics:

1994: Christie won his first election to be a Morris County freeholder (now commissioners) by lying about his opponent.  He falsely accused his opponent of being under criminal investigation. When he was sued for defamation, Christie settled the case and apologized. When his freeholder term ended, Christie left Morris County politics.  He then became a paid lobbyist in Trenton.  He worked with politically connected lawyers who got special government deals for their corporate clients.

2002:  George Bush appointed Chris Christie as U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, even though Christie had no trial or law enforcement training or experience.  This was Christie’s reward for getting the Bush campaign big Wall Street campaign donations.

2002 to 2008:  Christie as U.S. Attorney made corruption by government officials his top priority.  During his six years as U.S. attorney, his office convicted 130 state, county, and local political figures.  One was Charles Kushner, the father of Jared Kushner.

Christie’s political prosecutions were selective and in consistent.  He got a insisted on a long prison sentence for Louis Mister of Pleasantville.  Mister was an unpaid volunteer for an unpaid school board candidate.  Mister delivered an envelope with a $1,500 campaign donation from a small roofing contractor who had been promised public school roofing contracts by the candidate. However, Christie did not prosecute Camden County Democrat George Norcross or anyone in his organization. For years, Norcross used threats and campaign gifts to win millions of dollars of sweetheart contracts from local and county governments throughout South Jersey.  In 2001, the mayor of the small town of Palmyra recorded hours of conversations in which Norcross giving details of  how he systematically used bribes and threats to get profitable government contracts.  These recordings were known as the “Palmyra Tapes” and turned over to state law enforcement officials in 2001.  They were given to Christie’s office when state officials failed to prosecute.  When Christie went into politics in 2009, he depended on funds and political support from the George Norcross political machine which included State Senate President Steve Sweeney.

2009.  Christie narrowly defeated conservative Steve Lonegan in the Republican Primary.  Christie asked for and received support from Lonegan and other conservatives to defeat Democratic Governor Jon Corzine that November.

2010:   As Governor, Christie excluded all conservative Republicans who helped him win the election.  Christie appointed leftist Democrats to the key positions of Attorney General and Environmental Protection.  Christie increased state government spending.  He paid for this by cutting state aid to suburban towns, causing them to raise real estate taxes. Christie also stopped state payments to the state’s government employee pension funds.

2010-2015:  Atlantic City lost two thirds of its real estate tax base after competing casinos opened in Pennsylvania.  When Atlantic City government could not pay its bills, Christie had state government take over Atlantic City’s finances.  However, Christie refused to cut the city’s spending to match the decline in real estate tax collections.  At the time, Christie was running for President and his main rival was Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.  Christie criticized Walker for cutting government spending and pushing back against government employee unions.  Christie did not make spending cuts in Atlantic City until he stopped running for President six years later.  During that time, Christie approved six yearly budgets with illegal deficits that put Atlantic City taxpayers roughly $400 million in debt.

2011:  Christie began investing NJ government employee pension funds in hedge funds with higher-risk “alternative investments”.  Some of those funds were used for the $800 million bailout of the failed Revel Casino project.  The Revel closed one year after opening in 2012.  It was then sold to the current owners of the Ocean Casino for $82 million or ten cents on the dollar.

Above Image:  This isolated section was damaged by storms in the 1980’s and slated for demolition for more than 30 years.  When it washed away during the Sandy storm of 2012, the national media falsely reported that “Superstorm” Sandy destroyed the “iconic Atlantic City Boardwalk”.

2012:  Hurricane Sandy caused severe flooding along the New Jersey shore on the last day of October.  The storm was not severe.  However, it caused severe flooding along the back bays.  That is because the storm lingered off the coast for more than a day and then suddenly landed during a full moon high tide.  Christie repeated Democrat and media lies that Sandy was a superstorm caused by climate change.  He did not deny false media reports that the storm destroyed the Atlantic City Boardwalk.  (The storm washed away a section of Boardwalk that had been damaged by storms 30 years earlier and about to be demolished. Christie embraced and praised Democratic President Obama days before the November, 2012 election.  Christie also took Obama and the national media to Brigantine so they would not see the undamaged Atlantic City Boardwalk. Christie demanded and got massive federal spending for Sandy relief.  He did that by joining Democrats to attack Republicans and set aside a previous deal to balance the federal budget.  Christie also joined Democrats to falsely blame beachfront home owners for back bay floods by opposing artificial dunes on the beach.  Almost all Sandy damage south of Long Beach Island was caused by flooding from back bays, not the ocean.  Christie forced Margate to build sand dunes after residents voted overwhelmingly against them.

2013:  Chris Christie was re-elected in landslide victory.  He claimed his ability to win over Democrats made him an ideal Republican candidate for President.  Christie got help from Democratic State Senator Steve Sweeney who was backed by George Norcross.  Sandy relief payments from the federal government let state government spend lavishly without raising taxes.  Christie won favorable media coverage because federal Sandy relief funds included millions of dollars for “Stronger Than The Storm” media advertising.  To be sure of a landslide victory in 2013, officials working for Christie also threatened local officials who failed to publicly endorse him.  One of them was the Democratic Mayor of Fort Lee.  When that mayor refused to publicly endorse Christie, state officials shut down lanes of traffic from his town to the George Washington Bridge.  That incident became known as “Bridgegate”.

2016:  Christie bailed out the insolvent NJ Transportation Authority with a massive 23 cent per gallon gas tax hike, toll hikes, and law mandating future tax and toll hikes to guarantee the Authority’s junk bonds.

2016-2017:  Newly elected President Donald Trump appointed Chris Christie to his transition team, and to hire his top officials to run the federal government.  Christie recommended and Trump agreed to leaving many Obama holdovers in place.  Trump ditched MAGA and instead hired many of Chris Christie’s recommendations from the Swamp.  They included Rex Tillerson of Exxon Mobil as Secretary of State and Steve Mnuchin of Goldman Sachs for Secretary of the Treasury.  Trump also hired Christie’s recommendation of Chris Wray to replace James Comey as head of the FBI.

June 6, 2023:  Chris Christie announced that he is a candidate for President.  He stated that is main mission was “to take out Donald Trump”.
