If you liked Dylan's book Thicker Than Water, you will want to make out with Release. I snagged an early copy of this book and proceeded to have my mind blown. It was beautiful, poignant, painful, and so uplifting and happy. It was like Dylan distilled life and put it between the covers of a book. I can't recommend this book enough when it comes out, my friends. The story spans continents and includes a reluctant-to-fall heroine with the scars of her past. But it's not heavy. There is humor—sharp and sweet. Family familiarity and all the baggage that goes along with that. And most importantly a love that unlocks doors long closed. READ. IT.

I don't think I could've come up with a better way to end the Symbols of Love series. Even though each of these three amazing books can be read as a stand alone you don't get the full effect of this amazing family until you've read all three.

Lily is the typical middle child: independent, social, peace maker, generous, flexible, secretive, etc... but like any human she still feels pain. Though she is strong and independent Lily finds herself needing her family more then ever but they don't see the pain she is holding. Lily decides to stay away, hoping that one day her family will realize just how much she's hurting. What she doesn't expect is to meet Harry.

When these two first meet their time together is anything but enjoyable but there is something that keeps pulling them back together. No matter what happens fate keeps throwing them back into each others lives. Can Lilly let go of the pain, anger and fear that she holds inside? Can she let it all go and become the woman she deserves to be?

I have never read a book where I had all the feels for each one of the main characters. At times I felt like I was loosing my mind because I was so back and forth. Lily is one amazing woman because she has faced the unthinkable yet she has found a way to survive. Some may say she wasn't truly living but she never gave up. She pushed through and continued on and when she was at her weakest she still rose to lend her shoulder when she could for her family. She met Harry at a time when she needed him the most because he saw her truth and challenged her to face it.

There were a plethora of feelings surging through me as I read Release. Hope, anger, elation, shock, dismay, peace and happiness just to name a few but the emotion that presented itself the most was pride. I am wholeheartedly and fiercely proud of Dylan Allen. For her fortitude and strength. She has poured out her soul in order to bring us Lilly's story and you can feel every ounce of it in these pages. I know this wasn't an easy story to write, it couldn't have been.

Lilly is the middle Hassan sister, you don't need to read Rise or Remember to start Release but you obviously SHOULD. You'll really miss out on meeting some of my favorite characters EVER if you don't.

One of my favorite things about Dylan's books are the locations, it's almost like a character within itself. The way she describes the scenery, landscapes, the people.....food, sounds and smells place you right there and definitely makes you want to book a flight immediately! Release starts off in lovely Ghana and that is where Lilly meets Harry. Is it a "meet cute", love at first sight, heart eyes???? Not exactly! Actually, not at all but it's a first meet you won't forget!

To be honest Lilly wasn't my favorite. Although I empathized with the gut wrenching tragedies of her past there was something blocking me from connecting with her which freaked me out because I immediately felt a kinship with her sisters. I did something I generally never do, I put myself in Harry's shoes instead of Lilly's. I saw what he saw and once I did THAT I fell for Lilly HARD!

As much of a beautiful, swoony, romantic, intense and passionate love story that this is......It's also full of heavy ANGST (which I love) REAL world issues and hard things that we sometimes want to hide from. Release is breathtakingly emotional and filled with incredibly powerful moments but there's also SO many situations..... one in particular that even as I write this I'm DYING laughing just thinking about it.....Oh Camille! LOL!! You'll also get some updates on our faves from Rise and Remember. SWOON!

In true Dylan Allen fashion these characters are highly complex and developed, fiercely loyal to each other and her gorgeous story telling will bring you to your knees. A MUST READ! Congratulations Dylan this is your best yet!

If their were 10 stars available to give, that still wouldn't be enough for this book! I'm in love with this story. I have read the entire series, and this book is my absolute favorite!!! Dylan Allen has a way with words that will resonate in your soul, make you FEEL, she is so awe inspiring with her words. They are poetic perfection, so raw, so emotional. This book, no words can do it justice, just #FEELS !
The pain, heartache, loss, and finally LOVE and self worth that Lilly goes through, will break you, put you back together, and make you FEEL!
And Harry,, OMG! SWOON!!!!😍💖💖💖 I am so in love with this book!

This is one of my favorite lines in the book,

~ I bask in the fairytale that is my life. I had to fight for it, we never once let go of each other. This love is my truth. And it has set me free. ~

This has been one of those weeks where the books that I have been reviewing have been mind blowing, so I was already close to being on my knees when I picked up Release. Well, Dylan Allen took me all the way down with her newest release that's for sure, and whatever was left of my mind has been completely shattered. See, I'm was already a huge fan girl of hers, already LOVED everything that I've read as she's already earned my opinion of her brilliant writing style, but seriously?! She's totally blown away everything she's written with Release, and that's why there will be no giving away any plot by me, because I'm terrified that I will give something away, and that would be a crime in my eyes. I can say that there's Lilly, the strong heroine, who has been through more than anyone should have to go through. And Harry, the straight shooter, who tends to come off like a jerk, but who just tells the truth. She's a beautiful soul, and he's a driven man, but not in a bad way. They meet in a very interesting, and funny way. And that's all that I will come off of. But every feel known to man I went through while reading this beautiful story, like it was my own story. Laughter, tears, anger, love, and colorful metaphors in frustration, they were all there. It's an EPIC story that I could go on and on about, but just read it instead as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Three sisters. Three stories. Three broken hearts. That’s what Symbols of Love is all about. Release gives us Lilly’s story.

I have been interested in Lilly’s story from the moment I read about her in Rise. There was something mysterious about her that had me intrigued. Let me tell y’all – Lilly’s story is heart-breaking and gut-wrenching. I cried! I’m not a crier but I had tears flowing down my cheeks during this story.

That prologue. . .oh my sweet soul. I almost died. I wasn’t ready! I wasn’t ready! Dylan Allen had me hooked from the first paragraph. You have to read it to know what I mean. It was so damn emotional.

Lilly is beautiful, raw, complex, and broken. She is everything that a woman is. We’re all a little broken if you really think about it.

Harry is handsome, caring, thoughtful, and genuine. He is everything that a woman wants in her man.

Lilly is hurting on the inside something terrible and Harry has no idea how much yet sees all the good in her that she tries to hide.

“You make me feel. . .perfect,” I say to him on a sigh of pure bliss.

“To me, you are,” he whispers in my ear. – Lilly/Harry

As fate continues to bring these two together, Lilly’s heart just doesn’t know what to do. Fate was also the thing that risks taking them apart.

The type of relationship they form is not an easy one. Their pasts make them a unique pair, there are so many layers to them both.

What do you do when you want to get to know someone and they don’t have the capacity to give their heart to you? – You find a way to convince them that they are worth it. You find a way to let that person know that you are there, standing and waiting. At least that’s what we hope, right?
“Let me prove I can take care of your heart. Even better than I take care of your body” – Harry

What drew me into the story more than anything else was how broken and kind of bitchy Lilly was. Like I said, we are all a little bit broken and I can be a bitch – a sweet one, but still a bitch. I guess that’s why I wanted more than anything for her to find some peace in this crazy, fucked up world. The same world that killed so much of who was in the past.

Dylan Allen writes Release with so much passion and grace. The words bleed off of the pages, right into the readers heart.

I really hope that you will give this story a try. Release is about family, love, heartbreak and how to find yourself again after everything is taken away from you.

Do I recommend this book? Yes, I truly do.
Will I read more books by Dylan Allen? Yep! If she writes it - I will read it.

Remember to follow all things messy. . .

“You make me feel… perfect,” I say to him on a sigh of pure bliss.
“To me, you are,” he whispers in my ear.

Oh my goodness, I love this fictional family so much! Best for Last is the third book in Dylan Allen’s ‘Symbol of Love’ series and it’s the middle child, Lilly’s story. This one has been teased through the series and I couldn’t wait to get to it! I loved it so much!

Lilly and Harry meet on an airplane and their meet cute is unforgettable and unlike any other. They just happen to be at the same resort/area they are traveling to and even though they don’t start out on the best foot, their chemistry is undeniable.

Harry and Lilly have an unforgettable time together and eventually have to get back to real life and go their separate ways. Until a year or so later when they are unexpectedly thrown into each others company again and get a second chance at their romance.

Lilly has always been the strong one in her family. She’s the pillar that has held them together when everything was crumbling. Then she went through something traumatic and didn’t know how to deal. She has been going through so much and doing it all by herself. I felt so happy and proud to see her deal with her trauma and finally be able to talk and open up about it. Harry was amazing with her and I adored him!

Dylan Allen always slays me with her captivating and addictive writing. This book was magnificent and I highly recommend checking out this series if you haven’t already!

"I want to know what put that sadness there. I want to tell her the source of my own pain."

Release is the third and final book in the Symbols of Love series by the awesome Dylan Allen. I have read every book this author has released and been a fan from the start. I had been looking forward to Lilly and Harry's story, after being introduced to them in the previous books. First I want to mention that the prologue was very intense and raw, and the author did an incredible job in giving the reader a very realistic view of the situation. It had me feeling so many emotions and I felt like I was present in that scene. It definitely wasn't easy to read but it gave me a very clear view into Lilly's personality.

"I will never experience anything as magnificent as the way he has adored me. It's like the sun shining on the darkest parts of my insides, disinfecting and cleansing. But, there are some stains that nothing can remove. And the one on my soul is one of those."

Harry was very honest and said what was on his mind. I loved that a lot about him, and his personality resulted in Lilly coming out of her shell. She brought down her defensive walls and let Harry get to know her a bit, even though what they had was just a holiday fling (or so they thought). Harry was more open then Lilly, but seeing what she gone through in the past it was very understandable. There was a lot going on in this book, and I didn't completely agree with the way both of them handles certain situations. But on the other side this did result in them growing as individuals and getting their life back on track.

"When you kiss me, it's like a shot of sunshine. Straight to my center."

There were also a couple of twists which added another layer to the story, which I liked. I loved that all the previous characters made appearances in this book, and I enjoyed seeing what they were up to. The setting of the story was great. The first part was mainly set in Ghana and the second in the United Kingdom. The author did a phenomenal job in telling Lilly and Harry's story and gave them a well-deserved HEA. I had a hard time keeping my tears contained a couple of times, so I just let them flow. I am sad this series is done, but Release was definitely a great way to end it. However, I want Harry's twin Freya to get her own story. Release can be read as a stand-alone, but I think you would enjoy it more if you read the previous books. I can't wait to see what Dylan has in story for us next.

Release is the third book in the Symbols of Love series and features Lilly and Harry. This story was fabulous thanks to Lilly and Harry. Lilly is a remarkable woman who has carried a secret for five years. This secret has changed her life irrevocably and now she hides herself behind anger and control. Not letting anyone close cause she’s afraid and ashamed. Harry sees right through her facade and never gives up. He pushes and pulls at Lilly’s walls which results in her finally letting him close and inside her heart. A heart which has been closed off and guarded for five years.
Their story was beautiful and emotional. It deals and handles a topic which is very important and current. Lilly and Harry’s love and their fight for each other and themselves were incredible. Release was a wonderful conclusion to the Symbols of Love series.

Best for Last is the last full length book in The Symbol’s Series and the longest of the three.
I know I shouldn’t haven favorites but if I *had* to choose, this book would be it.
I wanted the covers to be beautiful as well as meaningful. I love how they turned out.
Lilly’s symbol is Fawhodie. It is a visual symbol of independence, freedom, and emancipation.
The back cover of the cover with the man on front has a picture of Black Star Square - the site of Ghana’s Independence Day celebrations and a symbol of it’s sovereignty and independence from colonial rule.
Best for Last has got everything I love - high stakes romance, life, family, friendship, self care, food, travel (the first half is set in Ghana), ANGST, second chances (more than one!),and star crossed lovers who were made for each other.
It releases 9/14 into KU and I can’t WAIT. ❤️❤️

Release
by Dylan Allen
This is the third book from Dylan’s Symbols of Love Series. This is a series of stand-alones so you can read Release without reading the other 2 but if you ask me I’ll tell you to read them in order. That will make the ride much sweeter. You will laugh and cry in this story like you have no idea. It will be a rollercoaster of emotionslike you haven’t experience before. For me this is Dylan’s most intense book. It’s a story about survival, endurance, self love, empowerment, passionate love and family struggles. It has everything. I had a feeling Lilly’s story would be the one to break me but never thought it would be as hard as it was. Watching Lillian and Harry’s story unfolds it’s bitter sweet for there will be tears and heartache before they find their happily ever after.

If you haven’t read any of Dylan’s previous book you don’t know that Lillian Hassan is the middle sister of the Hassan goddesses. Lilly is the rock and glue of the family, the happy one, the resilient one. She’s also as beautiful as she is infuriating. I’ll get to the infuriating part later. Her family didn’t know that behind all those smile and strong facade, a deep sorrow and pain was hiding. Her struggles happened soon after her Dad went away. So to escape the memories and questions about those days, she stays away from every family member unless a vacation outside of her home town was planned. An attempt to regain her life and happiness after so long will bring her to beautiful Ghana where a very rude gorgeous Brit will bring all her defense down and force her to feel for the first time in what feels for her like a lifetime.

Harry Harry Harry!!! You were trying to steal me away from Simon and damn it I feel like I have to share the spot now. After seen the way you love and fight for Lilly there’s no other choice for me but to love you.

Harry, the gorgeous Brit with a very sexy and mysterious swagger. He is Louis brother and if you wanna know who that is READ RISE and RELEASE. Jajaja sorry I’m bad but it wouldn’t be as amazing of a story if I bring all the details. So, back to Harry. He comes from wealth and very high family expectations and responsibilities. Tragedy hit him a couple of years back making him a close up person dedicating to his work. Those work responsibilities will bring him to Ghana and to the arms of hell of a infuriating Goddess.

She came to vacation, he came to work but what any of them expect was for a holiday romance to become the center of their life and forever change their hearts. This two will banter and fight their attraction to the point of making me wanna strangle them. Lilly constant lying and pushing was making me wanna punch her. I know it’s her coping mechanism now but at the beginning was hard to see it as that. At some point all the fights will help them crumble all those wall they have created. Lilly will be force to finally face her demons and it will be devastating seen the strongest of the sister break. I was not expecting such ordeal in her life. The struggles she endured will bring you to tears. No blooded person can stand been unaffected by it. Harry will make her see her true beauty and worth. He will make her claim her power as a woman back and therefore her life.

This story hit book world on FEBRUARY 28 so don’t miss the chance to see how this story unfolds.

Wow. Release grabs your heart from the very first sentence and doesn't let go.

description

This book is raw, honest, emotional, and uplifting. There are situations that will hurt your heart and rock you to your core, but there are others that will have you laughing out loud (so loud in fact, that you will wake your sleeping spouse!) and smiling like a lovesick fool. Release is book 3 in the Symbols of love series, but can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend reading the previous books though because they are amazing and characters from those books do appear in this one.

Lilly and Harry were such complex characters. There was so much emotional baggage and demons of the past weighing them down. Their struggles were so internal that even their well intentioned families couldn't see them or their pain. Yes, Lilly and Harry don't quite have a fairy tale meet cute, but it's clear from the start that their connection is unparalleled. They challenge and argue with each other, each giving as good as they get. Though some of the exchanges are quite hurtful, they're also honest and real. I was equally in love with and annoyed by Lilly and Harry at different times in the book. What I appreciate most about Dylan Allen's books though, is that she allows her characters to be human. They make mistakes. They hurt. They overcome. They forgive. They love.

Lilly and Harry's story is not an easy one. There is plenty of family drama, twists, and revelations that have you on an emotional roller coaster. It's more than a love story between 2 characters. It's also a love story between parent and child, brothers and sisters, and most importantly, of yourself. I have loved each of these sister's stories so much and cannot recommend this series enough!

ps - I am still DYING from the scene in the car following Louis and Cara's wedding! Camille was seriously THE BEST comic relief ever!

What a wonderful, well-woven love story that gives you just about every emotion to work through. As a reader, I love that! Dylan Allen writes with so much passion, and with every story she has a better understanding of her own magic with words. I was hypnotized at times, tearful at times, but my big ole' heart just about exploded at the end.

Is it possible to hide the truth from you loved ones? From the moment I read about Lilly in Rise and Remember I wanted to know more about her. I had the feeling she didnt stay away by choice, that something had happened to her. With Release, I finally know her story. The book made me feel a lot, but I love it.
“His hand cups my face, my eyes close, and all of the breath leaves my lungs. His touch feels like…relief. And I am rocked with a feeling of happiness, so surprising and acute that it stings. No one has touched me like this in such a long time.”

Lilly is living a lonely life; away from her family and following her own set of rules. It’s not by choice, but she felt like she had to go away, to keep her secrets to herself. When Lilly meets Harry it’s obvious he’s different, but her own mind is her worst enemy. Admitting her feelings for Harry also means opening up about the past, and that the hardest…

Harry has learned the hard way women not only want him because he’s such a nice guy. But like a real man he takes his responsibility, and knows he wasn’t the perfect fiancé either. Lilly is nothing like the women Harry normally socializes with, and it’s hard to stay away from her.
“This woman…even now when things are messed up, she’s who I want to talk to. Who I want to be with this. I’ve never felt this way before.”

Release is already the third book in the ‘Symbol of Love Series’ and tells the story of Lilly and Harry. Like the other books in the series the story is written in a dual POV, giving a voice to both characters. You see their thoughts, hopes and fears, all descripted realistically. I had my suspicions before I started Release, but I’m ‘happy’ with the story as its written and how everything develops between the main characters.

I have to be honest here. The first few chapters I didn’t know what to make of Lilly. She went from hot to cold in the blink of an eye, completely confusing Harry (and me, the reader). But as I got to know more about Lilly and learned what had happened to her, all I wanted to do was hug her. Harry is an amazing character, I love how he owns his role in his previous relationship, and how he wants to do better. Harry and Lilly are both realistic characters, formed by their pasts and ready for their future. I love them.
“Wherever I am, wherever I go -if you’re there, it feels like home. Your heart is my home.”

This Love is the Truth!
Dylan Allen weaves a love story that will put your heart through a marathon of a workout. While reading Release I was immersed in all the feels. I experienced horror, laughter, sorrow, hope, passion, heartbreak, joy, and love! This story deals with difficult/complex issues and emotions in a thoughtful and genuine manner. Even though these issues are an integral part of the book, at its core it is a story of an empowering and enduring love.

Lilly is a mystery to those that "know" her. She is drifting through life trying to deal with her anger and self doubt that resulted from a traumatic event. She guards her emotions and her heart with impenetrable armor, wielding control as a weapon. Harry is a hard working and focused man. He values tradition, family, and truth. He has been burned in a past relationship and isn't looking for anything complicated. Both Lilly and Harry have internal demons they are trying to extinguish. However, their sorrow is a common cord that somehow connects them.

Lilly and Harry's meeting is not ideal. It is an awkward encounter that leaves both of them reeling and unsteady. Their is a magnetic pull between them that they try hard to deny. I loved how they would momentarily open for one another and then their heated dislike would return ten fold. It felt visceral and passionate. The sexy times are filled with five alarm blaze level passion that will have you overheating. Then their brief and intoxicating affair ends on tenuous terms.

When Lilly and Harry unexpectedly meet again, they struggle to find their footing. There is undeniable hurt, anger, and confusion separating their hearts and minds. Their road back to each other is fraught with fear, misunderstanding, and outside interference. Throughout it all, their connection is palpable and resilient. They must fight for their love. They fight with themselves, with each other, but most importantly for each other.
Release will take you for a heart-wrenching and exhilarating ride! You won't want to put this book down. These characters will make you ache and beg and cry and laugh. I finished reading Release and was left in a state of bliss and satisfaction. Dylan Allen.....mind blown!

If there is a story an author “has to write” this is it.
Release blew me away. The prologue grabs you right away, you feel like you understand Lilly’s pain. However, Lilly is such a complex character. She will continue to surprise you.

Harry is a very straightforward man. He’s masculine and take charge without being over the top.

This couple isn’t what you are used to seeing in a romance book. They transcend stereotypes. Lilly and Harry were meant for each other and fate will have its way.

This books deals with several very deep subjects, but the author still gives us doses of humor throughout. I enjoyed this book.

Dylan Allen has beautifully told a story of despair and shown how to heal and be whole again.

I have never been as touched and moved by a book before than I have after finished Release. Ms Allen has put her heart and soul into this amazing roller coaster read that I felt in every part of my body. I felt every emotion and word in this book and wanted to scream out with Lilly. I could even smell Camilles breath ( gagging ). My heart pounded, the tears flowed. This IS the book that MUST be on your ereaders, book shelves, in your heart. It is in mine forever! Xoxo

Grab your tissues now! You are going to need them!

Release was one of the best and soul-filling book that I have ever read. At this point, I’ve read it 4 times. Dylan Allen has touched a place in my heart with Lilly’s story. As it is, I’ve been writing my review for nearly 3 months now and every time I start, I write a few sentences just to stop again. No matter what I write here... there is no way for me to eloquently write what Allen’s words have done to my heart, to my soul, and the way I think of my life and what all I have been through. Allen has written a story that is going to resonate within too many hearts. It’s a story that is so close to so many people’s truth that it broke me a bit.

The language and imagery used throughout Release is so vivid, so full that you can see the beach, feel the sand, and smell the ocean. Allen created a scene in my head with her chapters. I can see and feel the current between Harry and Lilly, the pull, even though they both want to dislike each other at several points in the beginning. I know it will change and I already feel the tension, the suspense leading up to their combustible release.

The first intimate scene was insanely hot!!! Like I can’t even tell you how happy my husband was after that scene!! Their dirty talking intimacy was perfect for what was between them. Harry and Lilly deserve this intense, this strong, this bigger then them relationship. They’ve both been through so much that having a home in each other’s arms is what gives them the strength they need to live.

Harry is one of the most amazing book boyfriends ever. Good Lord he’s so flipping sweet and thoughtful! I just adore how well he takes care of Lilly after just barely a week together. He’s a total gentleman! The build-up of Lilly and Harry meeting up is killing me! Having them keep referencing Harry makes me giggle profusely. I can feel the tension building up for them to reconnect again after she just left without a proper goodbye.

Even though we have closure on the dad/family problem, I was so happy that we were able to see everyone again! It feels like your meeting with long lost friends. My heart breaks for Lilly and how she’s distances herself from her family. It’s a situation that I can completely relate too.

Oh my lanta!!! I can’t even handle you, Dylan Allen!!! That car ride has to be the funniest thing I’ve read in a long time!! Really?!? I know this road like a house on fire!?!? Bahaha!!! Where do you come up with this? lol I just, I just can’t!! You’ve killed me!

Allen took me on a roller coaster ride. Ugh, that father and daughter dance broke me. I literally have tears pouring down my face. You’ve broke my heart :( I laughed throughout this book. I cried throughout this story... no crying isn’t a strong enough word... I sobbed throughout, absolutely sobbed. I wish I had the words to tell you all the effect this book had on me. I can’t recommend Release Enough. Read it. Love it. Be consumed by the words.…

When I get a new book from an author that I am friendly with, I have that fear that I won't be able to say that it is great. Knowing how much time, blood, sweat and tears go into the story, I go in with fingers crossed. I am more than pleased to say that at 10% in with Release I was able to uncross my fingers and fall in love with this story.

Lilly, the middle of the Hassan sisters, is considered to be the backbone and binding of the family. The one who always listens and steps in when needed. Unfortunately, that meant that when she needed to be supported and seen she wasn't. Being a strong, independent and self-reliant woman, she went it alone. Retreating into herself for preservation, she created an alternate persona that couldn't be hurt.

This is a story of what happens to a person's spirit when their connections in life are broken. What happens when someone goes strictly into survival mode to get through. Dylan Allen takes what is an all to common experience and cuts it open to reveal the bleeding, festering wound that it leaves behind, a wound that time does not heal. Her characters are vibrant in their truths, all the good, the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. Lilly is someone you know. Her thoughts and responses are the ones you see in your sister, your friend, your co-workers ~ even if you don't understand them for what they are. Harry is the man who comes across as blunt and slightly cold but is the person you always expect honesty from. Each have deep set hurts that make them the way they are. Fate brings them together to give them what they are missing within themselves.

Release runs the gamut from heartbreakingly candid to bitter sweetly revealing to erotically sexy. Ms. Allen's story will, at times, will leave you with tears, at other times wondering what and why her characters are doing what they do and at others it will shine brilliantly hopeful and love filled. Release begs the questions, what would you not do to protect your heart and sanity and then what would you do to set yourself free?

5 "Mind Blown" Stars!!!!!

I took my time. Once I start a book, I usually finish it in a day or two. But this time, I took my time. Don't get me wrong, I wanted more than anything to devour this book in one sitting. But I just knew that this book meant to be savored. From the very first page I knew in my heart that this story was going to make me feel and break me. I knew that Dylan was going to take me on one of those rides that I wouldn't want to get off of. And more than anything, with this book and its story and the characters, I learned. Dylan taught me things, so many things I didn't know. And for that I am extremely grateful. Release is one of those books that'll stay with me forever. Its story is one that I won't soon forget. And Lilly and Harry, oh my word they made my heart beat ferociously. These two will ravish you in the best possible way.

Lilly will capture your heart. Her journey of triumph is one of strength. Lilly's growth throughout the book took time, but when she got to that point, it was so beautiful. The vulnerability she showed was a testament of her courage.

Harry, my gosh Harry was a treasure. Patient, he was so patient. He wanted more than anything to be there for Lilly. To help her in any way he could. He showed Lilly the importance of honestly. That no matter what she could always count on him.

Lilly and Harry's story is not light and fluffy. It's gritty and heartbreaking and raw, but most of all its real. And it will make you want to rip your hair out. It's filled to the brim with so much emotion and it'll make you feel everything. You'll be rooting so hard for Lilly and Harry to make it because their love story is one that should thrive and survive.

"This is what happens when souls that are meant for each other collide. They create something new. Something that no one has ever had before. It’s unpredictable, with a will of its own. It refuses to be mastered or tamed."

Release is the third book in the Symbols of Love series. Each one is a standalone and tells the story of the individual Hassan sisters. This is Lilly's story.
And, what an amazing story it is with such a strong message.
I ran the gamut of emotions as I furiously read every page. I laughed out loud, I felt my heart deflate with sadness and filled again with happiness...only to have the process repeat itself.
The first scene of Harry and Lilly on the beach brought me to tears as Lilly lost herself...found herself.

"His lips take mine again in an open, deep kiss that steals the breath from my lungs. And if it's the price I have to pay to feel this way, I'd be happy to never breathe again."

At this point, I believe I know what release is...but I don't have a clue. This is not a pretty little fairy tale. It's not make-believe it pretend.
It's raw, honest and unabashedly believable. I
I have no more words....
Thank you, Dylan Allen for sharing yours!

DISCLAIMER: I REQUESTED AND RECEIVED AN ARC OF THIS BOOK. THIS IS MY HONEST, VOLUNTARY REVIEW.

Holy crow. I think this is Dylan Allen's best work yet! And I know she's NOT through with writing, but I mean this in the utmost respect and admiration. Lilly's story was so emotionally heartbreaking. I literally don't know what to do with myself. And Harry! My goodness! Gimme a man like, I'll be a happy camper.
This is the second book in the last month to leave me so disoriented. And in a good way. RELEASE sucked me right in and didn't let me go. The book still has it's hold on me. What am I gonna do to get away? If I even want to get away.

Release is an emotional, sexy and beautifully written story about a strong woman and her journey to get back to herself. Dylan Allen is fearless in her writing, gutting you with the prologue giving you every bit of Lilly's story with a raw and flawless prose so you feel like you're right there with her: the pain, the shame and the joy of self-rediscovery. Harry goes down as one of my favorite book boyfriends ever. He loves her without apology or question and it's beautiful, and when they are together the chemistry burns off the page. Release was an amazing read and my favorite Dylan Allen book so far!

Emotional mess after this.

God where do I start. I thought the first and second books in this series were emotional but they are nothing compared to this book. Don't get me wrong the first 2 books are amazing but this book was brilliant. I alway thought Lilly was the more quiet sister but this book explains everything that this poor girl/woman has been through. My heart broke so much for Lilly in this book from the start to the end I just wanted to hug her. She is so strong and doesn't realise that she is. After what happened she see herself has this weak ugly woman. When she is the most beautiful caring and strong woman. Everyone sees this but she has drummed it into her head and pushed that person she used to be deep down inside her. She can't be that person anymore no matter who hard she try to come back.

Harry now this guy is just had messed up as Lilly in a way. He has been through some tough crazy times and is still dealing with them. He isn't very open to talk about his feelings and after what went down with his ex it's just something that he doesn't like to talk about. But the experience did make him a tough guy and there is certain things he just won't put up with. Harry comes from a very rush prestige family his father is an Earl and he is next in line. With the title hanging over him woman think that he's a catch the money and the title is just what they want. It doesn't even matter if Harry just wants a bed partner these woman will put up with that. Harry doesn't want this he want a woman to be honest and luv him for who he is not for his title and money.

Things between Lilly and Harry weren't easy and it was like that a lot through this story. There was so much to be told that it just didn't make a relationship easy. Lilly's past stop her from having Harry and being happy. He was the first guy to ever make her feel the way she should but she couldn't tell him the truth. She didn't want to tell cause she knew she would lose him. But she ended up losing him in a way with how she dealt with things. Though Harry with be so angry with Lilly he found it hard to get her out of head. He had never felt like this with anyone else. Lilly made him feel for the first time ever and he didn't care what happened between them he would fight the anger and forgive her he just need Lilly.

I would highly recommend this book it just amazing. The story is just pure anguish throughout the whole thing. I'm sore out after this book. Lilly God that character has had my feeling so many emotions I was goin crazy by the end. Harry I pretty much the same but Lilly I just want to mammy her she needed so much luv and I wanted her to be happy and Harry was the man. This author really know how to bring emotions into a story. Every book I've read from her as been so so good. She has become one of my favourite authors over the last 6 months. I just can't get enough of her books. I'm said that this series is over its been emotional but great at the same time the Hassan sister are brilliant. If you haven't read this series or this author get to it you won't regret it.

Dylan Allen knows how to write a sexy scene. And she can do heartbreak and angst with the best of them. But the thing that sets Ms. Allen apart from so many of her contemporaries is her subject matter. While other authors touch on second chances, or friends and enemies who become lovers, or even create lovers from opposite walks of life, Dylan Allen focuses on issues that are controversial. That are neglected. That are critical. And it's one thing for an author to write a book about a bad boy who refuses to change his ways and say, screw it, I'm keeping it like this and if the readers don't like it, too bad. (By the way, not knocking any of these kinds of books, I LOVE me some second chance, enemies, friends, bad boys, etc...) But it is an entirely different thing to write a book about the DREAM Act, as in Thicker Than Water, or rape and its long- lasting consequences. Then put it out there, hoping that not only will the public read them, but that they will pay attention. And not only does Dylan Allen tackle these extremely difficult topics, but she does them with grace, class, and respect. And oh, yeah, with one more aspect so often missing from the romance genre- multi-racial couples.

Lillian Hassan is living a half-life. For five years she has projected an air of confidence, self-assurance, and given off the appearance that she has it all together. Although she doesn't visit at home, she is still there for her sisters, both older and younger, when they need help in a crisis. Holds the family together. Runs a successful business. Dallies with men on her terms. So to all she encounters it seems like she has everything going for her. But the truth is that all you need to do is barely make a scratch in the surface of her protective outer shell of long sleeve tops, long pants and the armor around her heart, in order to see that she is filled with self-doubt and loathing, brimming with hatred and rage, lost to a past she has never shared. And for five years, no one, including the sisters she loves, the friends she once had, or the mother who relies on her, has ever noticed, or cared enough to ask. Until Harry.

Harry Carlisle is in Ghana for business. Only. Recovering from hurts of his own, he, too, hides who he is from those he meets and his true feelings from his family. But the caramel- skinned beauty with the dark, curling hair catches his attention from the moment he spots her. Though their first, and second, and possibly third and fourth, encounters are awkward at best, and downright terrible at worst, Harry can't let it, her, go. Something in her eyes, in her voice, in her, has embedded itself in his very soul.

And the journey will be arduous for these two. Lies, deceit, distance, obligation and the past will have their wicked way with the pair. But as they say, the truth, although exceedingly painful, and incredibly difficult, can set you free.

Harry and Lilly's story will captivate you and anger you. It will have you questioning them, yourself and societal values. But, luckily, it is, after all, a love story. And fortunately, another thing Ms. Allen does well, is provide an HEA worthy of both her characters and the readers who adore them.

This is what happens when souls that are meant for each other collide. They create something new. Something that no one has ever had before. It’s unpredictable, with a will of its own. It refuses to be mastered or tamed.

This whole series has slayed me! Release is the final book and this is Lilly's story. I hurt for Lilly so much. I felt her pain to my core but even more than that I understood why she made certain decisions. On the outside if you don't know her story you may question her choices and judge her harshly. However, as you get to know her you realize she actually puts everyone before herself. Even in her darkest times, she was a rock for her sisters and mother. She puts on a brave face so they won't worry about her but it's all an act.

Then she meets Harry who sees that she is hiding. He doesn't know her story but he sees the mask she wears and makes it his mission to break down her walls.
"Oh, yes. It's happening. And Lilly, I'll fight for it. I'll fight for you."

Can I just say that all the men in this series have captured my heart!!! Harry is wealthy and is next line to be an Earl but he is also a down to earth guy who has the sweetest heart. Poor Harry also had his own share of troubles that he had to overcome. Of course he is another sexy hero and the heat in this book was on point.

I will say that there was much more humor in this book compared to the others. It may just be Lilly's personality as well as her cousin Porsha who was a hoot. Or maybe it was just the chemistry between Harry and Lilly and the fact that they started out as sort of enemies. They were just a fun couple to read about. Even the first encounter between Lilly and Harry had me laughing out loud. That scene had me feeling a lot of other things as well but I won't spoil it for you.

Jeez! I can't sing the praises of this book more. My heart was so full after reading this. Simply amazing! I highly recommend this entire series.
