It all starts with a little game of truth or dare...

That was my first mistake. I've never been able to resist a dare and he damn well knows it. Trust me, I realize it's a personal flaw I need to work on.
My second mistake?
If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it was when I agreed to a frenemies-with-benefits situation in order to get him out of my system once and for all.
The third one, just in case you're wondering, was in thinking this wouldn't explode in my face if I came up with a list of rules for us to follow.
1- This is in no way a relationship. It's strictly dickly.
2- No sleeping with other people while knocking boots.
3- Our situationship stays on the downlow
But then he tacked on one of his own- no getting myself off unless it's in front of him.
Oh...did I forget to mention that the guy in question is Ford Hamilton, my ex-stepbrother? The very same one who may or may not remain an ex for long.
There's only one thing left to say...

This has probably been my favorite Jennifer Sucevic book. It was steamy, fun, and just overall a great listen.
It also had the added forbidden element of the hero being her ex-step-brother.

There is some puck bunny shaming but no shaming of the hockey player, but that is kind of part of the territory in a new adult sports romance.

I’m definitely excited to read the last one that she has published so far in this standalone series

Definitely recommend to hockey romance lovers.

I’m loving this series so far. There’s something about Jennifer’s books that just really hook you in.

Love You Never is book 2 in the Western Wildcats Hockey Series, following Carina & Ford. They used to be step siblings & grew close but after Ford pushed her away their senior year of high school, they have grown to become more like enemies over the last few years. But what they can’t deny after all these years is the chemistry & pull between the two of them. So when Ford suggests a frenemies with benefits situation, what could possibly go wrong?

I just knew I was going to love these two from getting to meet them in book 1 of the series! Their banter was just so good. I loved getting to know their relationship on a deeper level. These two might as well have been tied together by invisible string. Ford was down bad for Carina since the moment he laid eyes on her & I loved seeing how obsessed with her he was. This was definitely Jennifer’s spiciest book I’ve read so far. The taboo aspect of it just added to how hot it was & I just absolutely ate it up.

I’m already so excited to continue this series, hoping book 3 is about Wolf & Fallyn!

What a journey Carina & Ford share in this book! They were characters with very complex feelings that made this love story fun and full of feelings, especially when their parents are involved. Jennifer Sucevic made me suffer a little more than I expected with Love You Never, but she also made me love this series and its characters much more.

Carina is Jules' best friend, a girl who is not afraid to speak her mind, a lover of dance and Ford's ex-stepsister, the boy whom she hates, but whom she has to see constantly because they are neighbors, go to the same university and move in the same circles, however, Carina never hesitates to let Ford know how much his presence bothers her, and although I think her character makes some bad decisions, I loved reading the strength and integrity of this girl. Something that broke my heart a lot and at the same time melted it was reading the relationship of love and support that exists between Carina and Ford's father, the only father figure that she has developed and with whom she feels very grateful.

Ford is one of the most popular hockey players on campus, an incorrigible womanizer who has actually been in love with Carina for years, he has a simple, charming and very flirtatious personality, and the truth is that I did not expect to love his character so much, I was surprised to read him accepting his feelings for Carina from the beginning, even when he is not ready to confess them, and I LOVED reading the sweet details that he always had with her.

Carina & Ford have a sweet & tender past together that ended abruptly and broke both of their hearts, but everything between them resurfaces when Carina accepts Ford's proposal to be friends with benefits, and if before that the tension between them was unbearable, when this agreement begins their connection becomes more intense, it becomes impossible for both to ignore what they really feel for the other, and for Ford what he really wants from Carina, BUT nothing is going to be easy because she has to protect her heart, the two have to face the obstacles that their parents' relationship puts in front of them and fight to keep safe what they feel for each other.

* hockey romance
* enemies-ish to lovers
* ex step siblings
* off limits

I love an enemies to lovers hockey romance but adding in the touch of taboo with step siblings. Holy hell yes please.

This book takes no time & starts off with a bang in the first chapter. Ford sees Carina show up to a party with another guy and he is not having it. He pulls her aside instantly and gives her the ultimate truth or dare to put her in her place.. she just doesn’t know it yet.

These two met at 14 when her mom married his dad, however that didn’t last but Carina still looks at his father like she’s also his & he’s still a huge part of her life.

In the past Ford & Carina had an instant connection that was primarily emotional given the age. But now they’re older and going to the same university emotional is now also turning into physical because they can never say no to each other.

What’s suppose to be a let’s get this out of our system and move on turns into a can’t live without you, but can Carina sacrifice the chance of losing the only father figure she had?

Overall a great read! 💕

(I received an ARC for this book)

Trigger Warnings include:
mention of death of a parent

Carina and Ford are neighbors at college. They have classes together. Their best friends are dating. They butt heads. They try to avoid each other. But the most important thing causing tension between them? They’re ex-step siblings. With years of built up tension. Which creates a delicious frenemies back and forth. And then when they are paired together for an assignment, what’s the harm in adding some benefits to it? I felt the heat the entire time. I was torn between needing the tension to be endless, and needing it to come to an end. Patience is a virtue, right? There’s some truth or dare. Plenty of possessiveness. Everyone sees what they’re trying to ignore. I love that Ford never fought her battles, but he always made sure she knew he was in her corner. Once his dad catches on to things going on, I knew how things were about to play out. But it didn’t matter, I was ready to EAT IT UP! Their epilogue was SO wonderful!

Ford and Carina have a routine. They play truth or dare together and always follow through. So when the dare is a kiss. Their frenemies situation turns into a frenemies with benifits situation. They have some stipulations... only with each other, it's not a relationship, and no one else finds out.

Ok ok... this might be in the taboo category for some. Ford and Carinas parents were married in high school. And then they divorced.

But Ford has always had Carina on his mind. He's been the mastermind of some situations since they've grown up. It's pretty steamy. I respected the relationship that Carina has with Crawford (Fords dad). And of course it's a hockey novel! Carina has her own interests too, and I enjoyed that Carina has her own thing too. It's something that the book doesn't gloss over and I liked that it was a big part of the book along with Fords hockey.

This relationship is very, very complicated with their history and relationships. But Ford is so Carina all the time, I loved it.

I was so excited for Ford and Carina's story, but this fell short for me. Something was missing between the two. I don't think they matched, Ford definitely fell harder, and Carina seemed kind of flat. It's still a good read, but I definitely hyped this up in my mind too much.

I always love books by this author, and this one is no different! The way in which Jennifer ties in her words always makes for an engaging story. For anyone that read Love You Always, you could pick up the tension between these two and you could just tell there was something that we didn’t know!

For those that haven't read it, do not worry, there isn't really anything you have missed.

The tension between these two was almost palpable and the further we got into the story, the more we begin to understand what may have happened in the past.

Ford was the typical, possessive alpha hole that made his way through the female population but as soon as anyone set eyes on Carina, he scared them off.

They end up having to work together for a class project and the tension goes from burning embers to roaring inferno! I loved the forbidden element to this story and how it made them concerned over what people thought.

Have I mentioned how much I love this author? The way in which Jennifer captures the everyday lives of college students and the pressures they face is brilliantly done. Their lives jump off the page and I really feel like I'm reading about college students. I am easily able to imagine every page and play it like a movie in my mind.

I've mentioned the tension between these two before and it's definitely worth mentioning again, it is off the charts hot! I feel like Ford is frustrating me as much as he's frustrating Carina!

You really see a different side to both of these characters whilst they're together and i like how sweet and thoughtful Ford is.

The more time they spend together the more they each realise there is something more and that scares Carina, scares her because of the past and scares her because of the idea of them being step-siblings.

Her mother is also a piece of work and she also doesn't help the situation.

Carina and her mum had a rough start and Ford and his father are the only family besides her mother that she has known. She care a lot about what his father thinks.

The pressure of doing the right thing or what she thinks is the right thing, is too much, and she decides that's what's best.

You feel sorry for Carina. All she's trying to do is appease everyone and please everyone, at the expense of her own happiness.

I really enjoyed this story, and I perhaps need a cold shower after this, because Ford and his dominance, along with his surprisingly dirty mouth makes for some hot and spicy scenes!

I liked the softer sides to both these characters as well, you couldn't have two more compatible characters, the fact that they shared some history as well, made this story that much better. Another amazing read by this author! I cannot wait to see who falls next! Though if towards the end of this story is anything to go by we may already know!

Carina and Ford's story is recommended to anyone that loves a well written college sports romance, with a forbidden twist!

Obsessed. 100% and totally obsessed! That is what I am over this book.

O-M-G this book!!! Jennifer Sucevic has surpassed herself in every delicious way possible. And I did not think that it was possible because I might be not-so-slightly obsessed with all of her books, some more than others, but this book - this book right here? It may just have eeked itself into my "Jennifer Sucevic #1" spot.

And that is saying A LOT.

Let me elaborate: I have been obsessed with her story of Brooke and Crosby - like I love those two so damn much. And obsessively so. So for me to admit that Carina and Ford may just have ousted them... I need a moment.... this is a milestone... I can't believe it, BUT Carina and Ford are just... they're everything. I'm tempted to have them tie with Brooke and Crosby, but I think they might deserve the spot all to themselves.... such a tough choice! But Jennifer Sucevic puts us in these positions time and again because she's just churning out one hit after another and so - oh wait, I got it! Let's just put Jennifer in her own trope of "why choose"! Why choose your favorites? ... Maybe.... but until I plot that idea out better, Ford and Carina are standing up on that podium with their gold medals and #1 book signs. *slow clapping* Take a bow, it is well deserved.

Ford and Carina's story, their connection, their dynamic, their chemistry, their attraction and tribulations are so compelling and it has us just riveted. I literally could not put this book down and may have completely binge-read it. Unapologetically so. And you'll feel the same way, because you won't want to put Ford and Carina down because you'll be so ravenous for their every encounter, whether it be one of lust, or hate, or love. And I am there for it all! I am there for every single one!!!

I can't even go into one detail about their story except the vague words above, because frankly none of it would do them justice. Only Jennifer can tell us about Ford and Carina and so this review is purely my fan-girling reactions to this book and to their story. It is phenomenal, it is beautiful, it is hot, it is smart, it it damn sexy, and it has just the right amount of love and hate. Delicious is what it is!

Now.... when will book #3 come out? I'm feeling pretty lost without the crew.... No pressure Jennifer, no pressure, but I can't wait!

Love You Never , the second book in the Western Wildcats Hockey series is a sizzling hot five star read . I was so curious about Ford and Carina and what's their story after they were mentioned in Hate You Always. And I knew it then that what they have is way back in their past an runs deep and beyond just being ex-step siblings. You see way back Ford more than cared about Carina . Even then he knew that she's it for him . And Carina always has a crush on him. And they have a routine back then - Ford dared her to do things she wanted to but was afraid to do and Carina knew that she always has a safe place with him . Suddenly everything changed and Ford freeze that routine and broke Carina's heart. Fast forward they are no longer step siblings but Ford still cares about Carina. They are in college and he throws her way the biggest dare ever to become frenemies with benefits in order to rid themselves of the attraction between them. Seems like a good idea at the time only for them to discover that they can't get rid of the feelings they have for each other and there's nothing temporarily. The tension and the angst just fuel up their insane chemistry and you're going to love dirty talking Ford . And as with everything kept in secret their relationship comes to light . I loved it how Ford confessed his feelings for Carina and defended their relationship. At the same time Carina was conflicted between her feelings and doing the right thing . Her mother was also a factor in her decision to break up with Ford . Hated it how miserable they both were during that period. And I loved it how Carina decided to fight for what's best for her and Ford . She was so sweet while grovelling and I loved it how Ford was there for her even though she hurt him. And that epilogue was so sweet and steamy. But the bonus epilogue was chef's kiss perfect. And they all got their happily ever after. And now I'm so curious about Wolf and Fallyn , because there definitely something's going on.

Ok so this was good BUT could have been better. Essentially, I think they fell in love in high school, it sounds like they spent a lot of platonic time together, innocent romantic time with light petting. We get told about this, but there are no flashbacks, we're never showed anything.

We hear more about lust in college (the spice is spicing and how refreshing to see SPOILER ALERT a MMC who realistically can't last hours in the sack 😂 END SPOILER ALERT)

I got a little bit annoyed with Carina because I felt like she broke Ford's heart at times and he was much more transparent about wanting them to be together fully. Enough of this frenemies/ex-step siblings with benefits crap 😂😂

Looking forward to Wolf and Fallyn's story and Lola and the football player (lord what a manwhore) have me interested enough to possibly check their story out too.

Love You Never was my first book by Jennifer Sucevic but I will definitely be going back for more!

Her only response is to raise her hand and give me the finger, letting me know that I’m number one in her heart. Exactly where I want to be.

Carina and Ford met each other when they became step siblings due to their parents’ marriage. Even though their parents have since split, Carina is still close to Ford’s dad and the three of them have regular dinners together. Ford and Carina are now in college for their senior year and, to Carina’s disappointment, they are also neighbors.

Ford and Carina used to be close in high school while living in the same house, as evidenced by them sleeping in each others arms every night, until all of a sudden Ford withdrew himself without an explanation. Carina, still harboring feelings for Ford, also carries a grudge for the events of their senior year and she does not hesitate to show it to Ford.

I’ve spent years trying to evict this girl from my head, but no other chick has been able to do it. I’m beginning to suspect that no one ever will. I’m obsessed with Carina. I always have been.

Unbeknownst to Carina, Ford was forced by his father to distance himself from her which has, however, not changed his feelings toward her. Without her knowing, he has chased guys away from her. Neither has also never had a serious relationship nor are they aware of how much they think of each other.

Once fate, with the help from Ford, makes them partner up on a school assignment, things slowly start escalating. Since they never went further than some kissing and cuddling, there is a lot of sizzling sexual tension between Carina and Ford. In the end, they agree to have a sexual relationship and keep things purely physical to be able to cleanse each other from their system.

When old feelings rear their head, Carina’s mother makes a reappearance and Ford’s dad catches them in the midst of having sex in Carina’s studio in his house, things get more complicated.

“Know what I’m going to do now?”
“Ruin you for all other guys.”
“That’s not possible.”
“Challenge accepted.”

The banter between Carina and Ford was great and I really liked how neither of them liked admitting their feelings to each other out loud, no matter how sappy they were in their head. Ford would keep up the game of Truth or Dare when he wanted Carina to do something or tell the truth and it was their own thing, had been since high school. He was the one pursuing Carina and ensuring things progressed.

Whereas I loved Ford, I have extremely conflicted feelings about Carina. On one hand, I liked that she did not take shit from Ford and could hold her own. On the other hand, she had so much childhood trauma that it still affected her behavior and made her so insecure (and anyone who reads my reviews knows I hate insecure FMCs). Also, she was way too driven by her jealousy instead of actually having her own opinion and knowing what she wants without outside influence.

There’s absolutely nothing normal about my feelings for her. There never has been.

Even though Carina and Ford, of course, end up back together at the end of the book, I did not like the third-act break-up at all. In my opinion, it reflected Carina’s insecurities way too much and was just unnecessary. Also, Carina hurting Ford like she did and him forgiving her way too easily made me like him less than I did earlier on in the book.

All in all, I really enjoyed Love You Never and I will definitely be going back to read Hate You Always before reading other books by the author!

**ARC REVIEW**
We're like two puzzle pieces. Both a little jagged around the edges. But somehow. we fit perfectly."

Love You Never is book #2 in the Western Wildcasts Hockey series by Jennifer Sucevic. I loved book 1 and I was sooooo excited for this book! If you haven't read book #1 you can still read this book as a standalone.

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🔥🔥🔥

If you like these tropes, you will enjoy reading this book :)
🏒 Hockey Romance
🏒 Ex-Step Siblings/Off-Limits
🏒 Forced Proximity
🏒 Overprotective/Obsessed Hero
🏒 Frenemies with Benefits

It all starts with a little game of truth or dare…

Carina Hutchins is a business major at Western University who also has a love for romance books and dancing. Dancing has always been her escape where she can lose herself in the music for hours on end. Now more than ever she needs to escape her good looking ex-step brother Ford Hamilton. She has always had a crush on Ford since her freshman year of high school but things were complicated since her mum and Ford's dad were together. They are not related by blood!

Ford Hamilton is a hockey player with the Western Wildcats. He has always kept his real feelings for Carina hidden due to his dad making it seem like he is a predator who will take advantage of Carina. He enjoys playing this game of Truth & Dare with her ever since they were in high school.

This game of truth and dare ends up with Carina and Ford deciding to be frenemies-with-benefits in order to get each other out of their systems. Can one time be enough?

This book was soooooo good!!! Jennifer did such a great job with yet another hockey romance book!

I loved so many moments in this book. I love that the chemistry and compatibility between Carina and Ford was off the charts. Every time they did they truth and dare game I got the shivers because there was so much sexual tension between them.

I loved how Ford was always looking out for her and sometimes his possessive tendencies were HOT! Ford does the sweetest things for her and it made me swoon so hard!!! The dirty mouth on Ford was HOT!!!! Also, every time he called her "Pretty Girl" I died and went to heaven !

I really did not like Carina's mum!!! She wasn't a nice person and I felt like she was just so selfish and self-centered and didn't think about Carina's needs at all.

Those last few chapters made me an emotional mess!!!

Here are my some of my favourite quotes:
"I fu**ing hate the idea of anyone else touching her. Touching what belongs to me."

"You're a real jerk." -
"Probably, but I'm a jerk you want between those pretty little thighs."

"Eyes up here, pretty girl. I want them on me when you take me deep inside your throat."

"When we're together like this, it's electric. More than that - it's addictive. I'm a fu**ing junkie for this girl."

Overall, I loved this book and I am so excited for what's next to come!! I hope its Fallyn and Wolf's story next!!

Thank you so much to Wordsmith Publicity and Jennifer for kindly sending me this arc to read and review. This review is my own honest opinion on the book :)

Carina and Ford's story is recommended to anyone that loves a well written college sports romance, with a forbidden twist!

Review: Jennifer gives us another amazing hockey romance between two star-crossed lovers! Ford and Carina rocketed to my top Jennifer hockey couple and I really loved how Ford’s character was so obviously in love with Carina the whole time. The enemy to lovers vibe was intense in the beginning and Jennifer does a great job with creating the tension between them.

“ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ’ꜱ ɴᴏᴛʜɪɴɢ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ɪ ʟᴏᴠᴇ ᴛʜᴀɴ ʜᴀᴠɪɴɢ ʜᴇʀ ᴀᴛᴛᴇɴᴛɪᴏɴ ꜰᴏᴄᴜꜱᴇᴅ ꜱᴏʟᴇʟʏ ᴏɴ ᴍᴇ.”

Ford is the GOAT in this book. He is swoon level x 100 and will make you wish for more MMCs like him. I loved how we could tell he was in love with Carina from the get go. I felt like his character took the brunt of the animosity from Carina and his father since he was not supposed to attach himself to her. The ex-stepsibling factor adds a taboo feelings to their romance and I enjoyed how Jennifer unraveled the events that lead Ford to give up Carina when they were younger. I felt for him throughout the book since he really gets pushed and pulled away from Carina from everyone he cares for and really wanted to hate how Carina seemed to use him without care for his feelings.

Carina is a strong willed FMC and harbors feelings for Ford that are tied up with how they ended when they were in high school. I enjoyed her backstory and how she strived to become her own person but also hated her and the unwillingness she had towards giving Ford a chance. I liked how Jennifer created the strong relationship with Ford’s father and developed the tension between Carina and her mother since it allowed me to understand her character better. I felt like the way Carina refused to admit her true feelings added to the plot since she believes Ford does not truly like her even when everyone can tell he does.

“ᴋɴᴏᴡ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ’ᴍ ɢᴏɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ ᴅᴏ ɴᴏᴡ?” ᴡʜᴇɴ ꜱʜᴇ ꜱʜᴀᴋᴇꜱ ʜᴇʀ ʜᴇᴀᴅ, ɪ ᴍᴜʀᴍᴜʀ, “ʀᴜɪɴ ʏᴏᴜ ꜰᴏʀ ᴀʟʟ ᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ɢᴜʏꜱ.”

Ford is full of the heat, spice and dirty talk. I loved how it all starts with a DARE. The parallels that Jennifer creates with how they begin in the book to how they were while in high school is strong. I appreciated how the “truth or dare” added a sense of playfulness. The development of their relationship seemed real and raw and fit in with the banter they had to a T. However, Ford really takes the cake and the alpha vibes he has will draw you in!

Rating: 10/10, Ford…a favorite hockey alpha everywhere!

Love You Never by Jennifer Sucevic is the second interconnected Standalone book in Western Wildcats Hockey series.
This Frenemies with Benefits, Hockey Romance follows the story of ex-step siblings Carina Hutchins and Ford Hamilton through the telling of their dual POVs.

Once upon a time Carina and Ford may have been step siblings, but not so much now.
Causing their relationship to sour with them being more of frenemies to each other, however after being partnered up together for a project and the start of Truth or Dare being played, their attraction for one another begins to grow blurring the lines they always kept clear, until now.

The narrative had us following two main plots, one of which was the characters of Carina and Ford.
Looking into their individual lives, whether it be in college with Ford playing Hockey and Carina with her studies and dance. Or outside of it with their family and friends.

“There are times when the chemistry that sparks between us feels as if it’ll explode, blowing us both to smithereens.”

The other plot being the whirlwind romance that was Carina and Ford’s relationship.
All their pushing and pulling, going back and forth made for some funny and entertaining moments. Especially with the banter they shared, building on the chemistry they had going on between them from sparks flying. Eventually leading to balls of Fire from the Fiery, Spice they brought to the table when it came to Sexy time between them.
Guess you could say the forced proximity helped to give them the nudge they needed to pursue their relationship by giving into the attraction they had to one other that they kept hidden.
This was something Jennifer ensured was made well known to us through the telling of their dual POVs, which had Carina and Ford opening up to us, the exploration into their character which included their inner monologue being put out there loud and clear for us to learn from.

Even though Love You Never was Carina and Ford’s story, putting them at the forefront and centre.
Given the insight into the secondary characters who were their friends, it not only gave us a look into their stories from the peeks included.
The teasers played into potential storylines for future couples to come from the secondary characters shown.

A fun and entertaining read that had a good balance in juggling the different aspects of Carina and Ford’s story. Ultimately making Love You Never by Jennifer Sucevic an enjoyable read to me.
And with the hinting towards the peeks given, it has me excited for the next couple and their story to come from the Western Wildcats Hockey series.

"Love You Never" is a captivating blend of frenemies-to-lovers dynamics, sizzling attraction, and the complexities of navigating a once-taboo relationship. Their story is entwined with the complications of being ex-step-siblings, making their journey an enthralling one.

Ford has been secretly drawn to Carina since they first met, but the familial ties kept their connection forbidden. Instead, he chose to become her steadfast friend and protector. However, a misunderstanding tore them apart, shattering Carina's heart. Now, in college and no longer step-siblings due to their parents' separation, they find themselves next-door neighbors, igniting a potent attraction that neither can deny.

Carina, a sweet and endearing character, grapples with a complex relationship with her mother, which casts uncertainty over her pursuit of a romantic connection with Ford. Ford, on the other hand, reveals a tender and caring side, even as he struggles to hide his undeniable attraction to Carina.

What makes this enemies-to-lovers romance even more enticing is the touch of taboo that arises from their shared history as step-siblings. The narrative wastes no time, plunging readers into the story's depths from the very first chapter. Ford's protective instincts are on full display when he confronts Carina at a party, setting the stage for their tumultuous relationship.

Their connection, originally rooted in emotional support during their teenage years, now matures into a complex blend of emotional and physical attraction as they enter college. As their undeniable chemistry unfolds, the narrative explores whether they can overcome societal judgments and personal reservations to be together.

This book expertly navigates themes of love, family, and personal boundaries, offering a fresh perspective on the challenges that come with unexpected attractions and the desire to redefine one's limits. While Ford occasionally reveals moments of insensitivity, his genuine affection for Carina shines through.

This is a compelling and enjoyable read. It skillfully combines relatable characters, intricate emotions, and a hint of forbidden love. The story of Ford and Carina is a testament to the power of love and the resilience of the heart, making it a must-read for fans of romance.

Love You Never is the second book in the Western Wildcats Hockey series by Jennifer Sucevic, featuring an entertaining frenemies to lovers, forbidden hockey romance with Ford and Carina. Carina has always had two weaknesses… the first is Ford Hamilton, and the second is her inability to turn down a dare. So, when Ford uses their Truth or Dare game to get a kiss, she knows that things will never be the same. She and Ford agree to a frenemies with benefits arrangement, but they’ve always had feelings simmering beneath the surface. The problem? He’s her ex-step-brother, and she still cherishes the relationship she has with his dad. When her gold-digger mom resurfaces, tensions rise. Is this situation just one big heartbreak waiting to happen, or is there hope for happiness if they fight for what they want?

I’ve been looking forward to this story ever since I read the first book, and it did not disappoint! Ford is an awesome example of a dirty-talking, possessive alpha who is 100% all-in and focused on Carina while remaining respectful and loving with her. The tension, angst, and build-up between them just added to the spice level, and I loved the use of the Truth or Dare games! So hot!🔥🔥 While there are a lot of steamy scenes, they didn’t overshadow the emotions and the drama going on that was applying the stress to Ford and Carina. There was even a little twist that surprised me, and made wish we could see more of when they spent time together the first time around. I was again impressed with the world building of the series, and the way the other characters support that found family vibe! That’s one of my favorite things about series. It was great to see more of Ryder and Juliette, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next player’s book! Don’t forget to download the Bonus Epilogue! It’s the perfect icing on the spicy cake!!

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

“Our relationship always teetered on the edge of something more, bursting with possibilities.”

Love You Never was a delicious, enemies to lovers story with a touch of forbidden romance. Ford and Carina were step-siblings who have always felt something more for each other. They were close when they were in high school, but when Ford began pulling away, Carina started to think of him as her enemy. Now they are embarking on an enemies with benefits situation but will those old feelings come back to the surface or have they never really gone away in the first place?

“I want to kiss her into submission until she finally agrees that whatever has been brewing between us for years is worth fighting for. That I’m worth fighting for.”

I loved Ford. He was completely obsessed with Carina and you just knew there was more behind his reasons for pushing her away in the first place. His dirty mouth and possessive ways were smoking hot, but he was also sweet and gentle when needed. This boy had my heart from the first page to the last.

‘Whenever we’re together, the air around us becomes combustible and it’s difficult to breathe.”
Carina was a spitfire and seemed determined to downplay what she felt for Ford. Her fiery personality and sharp tongue disguised the vulnerability and fear she had of losing those who mattered most to her. I liked how she kept Ford on his toes, but I did get a bit frustrated with her at times when she couldn’t seem to see what was so obvious to everyone else.

“There’s no doubt in my mind or heart that I was always meant to be here with you.”

The push and pull relationship and snarky, playful banter between Ford and Carina was absolutely electric. It was fun and humorous and full of sparks. Their chemistry was off the charts and the steam in this one is sizzling. Full of so much heat, a bit of angst and a lot of heart, Love You Never was fast-paced, addictive story that was a lot of fun. Ford and Carina were passionate, playful and light up the page.

“You understand what I’m saying, Carina? If I lay my lips on you, then you belong to me. You’re mine.”

Love You Never is the second book in the Western Wildcats Hockey series. This book follows college hockey star, Ford Hamilton, and his ex-stepsister and dancer, Carina Hutchins. Ford & Carina have been close since the moment their parents wed when they were just freshmen in high school. That is until Ford suddenly gives Carina the cold shoulder in their high school senior year, and Carina doesn’t understand why.

Now in their college senior year, and after managing to avoid each other all that time, Ford & Carina find themselves getting closer again. After one game of Truth or Dare, all their chemistry resurfaces, but will they give in to it…’

Anyone who knows me knows I love a good stepsibling book, and this has definitely made the list!

Ford was honestly such a sweetheart and you could tell how much he cared for Carina, even in their time apart. The fact that he’d stop in bookstores when he was with his friends in high school to buy her books… a man after my own heart! And the way she’d sneak into his room at night and they’d fall asleep cuddling each other!!

Ahhh the chapter when he was so nervous because he realised that he liked her but wasn’t sure if she felt the same, honestly too cute and I could reread that chapter constantly.

I can understand how Carina was conflicted with not wanting anything she did with Ford to impact on her relationship with Crawford, but just give the boy a chance!

You can feel that the friendship they developed during their childhood only made their relationship stronger and that much more explosive when they finally got together.

And the use of the ‘Truth or Dare’ games, yes please!

This book includes:
-Hockey x Dancer Romance
-Ex-stepsiblings
-Frenemies-with-benefits
-College Romance

Thank you to Wordsmith Publicity & Jennifer for the arc of this book.

Carina and Ford have a complicated relationship, one that started with them being step siblings a long time ago, and now they are no longer tied to one another, but find themselves neighbors on campus. Every so often they attend family dinners together at Ford's dad's house or a gala that he is hosting, but otherwise they keep their distance, well Carina tries anyway. Ford on the other hand makes it a point to always be in her business, which is completely annoying to her. But also makes her secretly smile too...

Love You Never is a love story that is impossible to put down, the moment these two wander onto the page life around you will stop and the only thing that will matter is them and the story that they have to tell. It's such a captivating, passionate, emotional, and tension-filled read. The deal they make is simple, friends-with-benefits until they decide they've had their fill and gotten one another out of each other's systems. But somewhere along the way a comfort and dependency starts to settle between them and lines become blurry. Then come the unexpected feelings, guards go up, and things get complicated. Carina wants to be brave and fall for Ford, but she has witnessed love gone wrong and she wants no part of that again. But giving up Ford seems impossible...

Oh how I loved these two, I have read several of this author's titles, and loved them all, but this one just hit me different. I'm not entirely sure what it was about these two, but they just found their way into my heart and it was impossible to let them go. They were so perfectly crafted and were so wickedly entertaining, their chemistry palpable the whole way through. It was hard to say goodbye when the last page found me, they are by far my favorite pairing from this author to date!! Highly recommend you get your hands on this book, the moment you crack the cover you'll be addicted!!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Love You Never is the second book in the Western Wildcats Hockey series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Carina and Ford had once been step-siblings – Carina’s “mother”, Pamela, had married Ford’s father, Crawford. Their parents got divorced, but Crawford still treats Carina as if she is his daughter.

There was always a connection between them, but they couldn’t be together because they were “siblings”. Now that their parents are no longer married, they can be together, but they because of their past relationship to each other.

Yet, Carina can never turn down a dare; so during a game of Truth or Dare, Ford dares her to kiss him. From there, they decide to be frenemies with benefits, but there’s a problem when Pamela comes back into their lives.

Ford and Carina’s story was great. It was obvious from the beginning that these two had feelings for each other. Ford was obsessed and knew Carina would kiss him when he dared her to. But he wanted more and didn’t want her to avoid him, so when a class project was announced, he instantly claimed her as his partner.

There was so much tension between them, stretching back to when they were in high school. The tension only increased when they had to spend more time together for their project. But again, there was just no denying that they both wanted each other.

I loved how Carina was respectful of Crawford. He was such a great guy, and she was actually protective over him. She didn’t want that POS Pamela coming back around, and it was because she knew Crawford deserved better.

Ford, though. He was so possessive over Carina. I’ll just say he went out of his way to ensure she stayed close to him and that no other guys dared to touch her. But my favorite part? He knew Carina’s love for books and bought them for her without her asking or saying anything , even when they were younger.

Anyway, this is a frenemies with benefits, college sports romance with a little bit of a forbidden twist. I enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what’s next.

“There’s no doubt in my mind or heart that I was always meant to be here with you.”
I absolutely devoured this book. I probably shouldn’t have started to read it the morning before work but I was so excited to start that it was difficult to get any work done. I love the Western Wildcats hockey team so much !

Ford and Carina have known each other since high school when their parents got married and Carina and her mother moved in with Ford and his father. They are the same age and became very good friends however senior year Ford cut their friendship off which lead to their new enemy relationship.

“Her only response is to raise her hand and give me the finger, letting me know that I’m number one in her heart. Exactly where I want to be.”

Now they are in the same college and next door to each other. Carina cannot stand how Ford is constantly around and inserting himself into her life. Even though their parents got divorced, she is still close to her stepfather.

When the opportunity for a group project in one of their shared classes comes up, Ford immediately partners with Carina and they are forced together even more and everything starts to change for them.

I loved all the little things Ford did for Carina without her knowing and was a massive fan of his way with words. Carina was a strong, independent woman doing everything she could to not become her mother and Ford was able to help her see she never will be and she deserves everything she has. They were perfect. I cannot wait for this serious to continue with Wolf next!

“I want everyone to know, especially her, that Carina Hutchins belongs to me."

In this book we meet Carina and Ford who were once step siblings when their parents got married. Carina's mom took off after five years and now things are all weird. She is still very close with Ford's dad because he took on the role of her father since hers was absent. He took care of her and paid for her schooling. However, even though she viewed Ford's dad as a father...she didn't really view Ford as a brother.

When they were younger and in high school they got closer creating an amazing friendship. Until one day Ford started icing Carina out and blowing her off. She had no idea what happened and it broke her heart. Even though she knew Ford and her couldn't really be together he still was her best friend.

Fast forward to now that their parents split up and they are at the same college all those feelings from before are starting to creep up. After some serious tension, it was inevitable that they would get together. But Carina wanted to keep it a secret. They kept their relationship private but what started as a fremies with benefits situation it quickly turned to more.

Just when they got a hold on things and talked about coming out to their parents that they wanted to pursue a relationship together they get hit with a bomb...Carina's mom and Ford's dad are back together...again. That puts them back at square one all over..but can they find a way to make this work?

This book was spicy, forbidden, and angsty! It was a recipe for a wonderful book and I can't reading til the end! I want even more...I can't wait for book #3 in the series!
