Our Change for Change recipient for the month of April is OKC FOOD HUB farm fresh from local producers.
Mission: 1) increase wholesale market access and support small-midsize Oklahoma farmers. 2) increase fresh food access. 3) advocacy+ education about systems-based solutions to local food procurement. The OKC Food Hub would use the money to buy standardized boxes required by their customers. The HUB links OK farmers with wholesale markets such as schools, grocers, restaurants, tribes & the Regional Food Bank. The required standardized boxes can be a substantial cost for small & beginning farmers, many of whom are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color. C4C funds would help buy the standardized boxes to access these important markets.
