The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Community Mental Health Association of Michigan are pleased to host a statewide training opportunity for practitioners interested in advancing their Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based method that targets the conditions and symptoms of persons who have Borderline Personality and other character disorders. This unique training opportunity will focus on program development, implementation, sustainability, and impact. HOTEL INFORMATION & RESERVATIONS: Grand Traverse Resort, 100 Grand Traverse Village Boulevard, Acme, MI 49610-0404 Attendees can call (800) 236-1577 and speak with a reservations agent to book their accommodations. They will receive the discounted State rate of $85 if they mention the DBT Summit or code DBT2023 or CLICK HERE to make reservations online. Rate does not include 6% state tax, 5% city assessment, or $20.95 nightly resort fee. Deadline for Reduced Hotel Rate has been EXTENDED: Monday, Oct. 16, 2023 at midnight Cancellation Deadline & Policy: If you cancel up to 3 days prior to your arrival, your reservation is fully refundable, minus a $25 fee. |
Fees |
$150 per person. The fee includes training materials, breakfast, and lunch on both days. Registration Deadline: Attendee registration is LIMITED and closes on October 26, 2023 at 5 p.m. or once sold out. Individuals registered for this grant-based event will be reviewed by DHHS for approval to attend and may be contacted for more information and/or cancellation of registration if not within the parameters of the grant-specified audience. Payment Information: Payment will be required prior to attendance. Payment methods available in advance and onsite: credit card, check or exact cash. If payment has not been received, fees will be collected at registration the day of the event unless alternate arrangements are pre-approved by CMHA. Purchase Orders are not considered payment. All No Shows will be billed the full amount. |

Who Should Attend |
This event is sponsored by the adult mental health block grant and is intended for persons who serve adults with severe mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders only through the mental health network (CMHSPs and/or their contract agencies) in the state of Michigan. It contains content appropriate for CEOs, COOs, clinical directors, supervisors, case managers, support coordinators, therapists, peer support specialists, and any other practitioners who are currently on/in process of starting/joining a DBT team that provides outpatient community-based services. |

Social Workers: This conference qualifies for a maximum of 10.5 social work CEs. The Community Mental Health Association is an approved provider with the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative. Approved Provider Number: MICEC 060818. Qualifies as “face-to-face (in-person) education.” Substance Use Disorder Professionals: CMHA is approved by the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP). CMHA maintains the responsibility for the program and content. Substance Use Disorder Professionals participating in the full conference may receive a maximum of 10.5 contact hours. It is important that attendees keep a copy of the conference program brochure containing the workshop descriptions along with their attendance record form. Continuing Education Requirement: National Accreditation Rules: National Accreditation rules indicate that if you are over 5 minutes late or depart early, you forfeit your continuing education hours for the entire training. Please note that this is a national rule that CMHA must enforce, or we could lose our provider status to provide continuing education hours in the future. This rule will be strictly followed. Certificate: Attendees must participate in the entire Keynote or Workshop and obtain an In-Code & Out-Code for each session. At the conclusion of this conference, turn in your completed form to the CMHA Staff to be initialed. You will turn in the top sheet and retain the bottom sheet which serves as your certificate of credit and/or attendance. |
Cancellation Policy |
Substitutions are permitted up to 3 business days prior to the conference. No-shows will be billed at the full training rate. Cancellations must be received in writing via email at least 10 business days prior to the conference for a full refund less a $25 administrative fee. If cancellation is received less than 10 business days prior to the training, no refund will be given. Refunds will be issued within 90 days of the training. |
