Love Me (Townsend Legacy Book 2) Kindle Edition
“...give me three months.”
“Three months for what?”
“To make you love me.”
For years I’ve withheld my feelings for my best friend, Monique. After dating losers, she needs a man who’s docile, safe … a nice guy.
I’ve never been that.
When we were younger, I couldn’t control my temper when it came to keeping her safe. My loss of control forced the only woman I loved to move hundreds of miles away.
Over the years, I tried to accept that I wasn’t what she needed, even when she became engaged to another man, and it ripped my heart in half.
But then her fiancé turns out to be another scumbag who dumps her after a stay in the hospital due to her type 1 diabetes.
She finally returns to our hometown, desperate to find her footing in life again.
And I’m done sitting on the sidelines.
I’m a grown man now–still dangerous, but I’ve learned to manage my dark urges over the years. I can pretend to be the nice guy she needs if that means finally making her mine. That’s the side of me I don’t allow Monique to see when I tell her it’s time….time for us to be more than friends.
But Monique believes she is a burden I don’t need.
She doesn’t get it….
I offer her a deal. I’ll give her the money she needs to start the art gallery she’s always wanted. And….
“...you’ll give me three months.”
“Three months for what?”
“To make you love me.”
Then I hold my breath to see if she takes the deal with the best friend who’s also the devil in disguise…

About the author

Tiffany Patterson is an Amazon bestselling author of over 40 romance titles featuring women of color. She’s passionate about writing stories with relatable heroines and the male heroes who are determined to love and cherish them, while giving her heroines the freedom to explore their sexual desires.
Tiffany writes both contemporary romance and paranormal romance novels. Whether you enjoy falling in love with billionaires or firefighters, or seek the thrill of the paranormal, you’ll find passion between the pages.
When Tiffany isn’t at her desk, she’s often outside hiking the local trails or traveling to new destinations in search of inspiration for her stories. Unsurprisingly, she enjoys nothing better than curling up with a romance book, although she also has a soft spot for watching true crime documentaries.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2024I absolutely love the concept of reading about the children from the legendary Townsend series! Aaron and Patience I think, are my favorite Townsend couple.
This book was a great read as Tiffany is an amazing writer. Friends to lovers is my favorite trope! Enjoy!!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2024Audiobook review: narrated by J. Shani Michaels and Sean Crisden
Diego and Monique have one of the best friends to lovers relationships. The chemistry between these two is palpable. Diego's willingness to do anything for her had my heart melting so many times. The backstory was full and created a believable progression of their relationship. I also appreciated the chronic illness representation in the story. There was a little bit of redundancy in the story that was a bit distracting at times but overall I really enjoyed this book.
The characters were brought to life in my mind by some of the best, emotion filled voice acting. These narrators embodied their characters so well I had a hard time turning this book off. If you haven't read this yet, I highly recommend it on audio.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2023Another beautiful Towsend’s story, I knew after Kyle got married Diego wouldn’t be far behind. 😉
I can only imagine the pain a teenager had to through finding out that her conception was what Monique found out ( No spoilers) , however if you read Sandra and Damon’s story you already know… Sandra loved her baby with all her being in spite off. because she is also a part of her. What a woman, WOW !!! I am not sure if I could, but applaud her. They should tell her, as Damon suggested… but I can see her dilemma.
They were each other secret keepers …
Anyway, Monique and Diego were meant to be… it took them a while to figure out. They went through a lot… but never lost each other.
In a way they were already “married “ without the I do’s … lol, he had been taking care of her since they were kids, and like he said, Monique owned his heart since he was a kid , and you better be that the feeling was mutual.
Great read! What next? Kennedy and the Asian ?!
Just saying! 😜
- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2024Tiffany Patterson has written so many great books and Love Me, is no exception! I love the Townsends series and now we are getting the next generation of Townsends!
Diego and Monique are so good together. The storyline and interaction with the other family members is so good! This is a great book and I can’t wait for Kennedy’s story next. Hopefully, we’ll get to see more of what’s happening with Diego and Monique!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2023I am loving the new generation of Townsend. They are so much like their fathers but different. This storyline was very touching and loveable. However, I've been reading Tiffany Patterson books for a while but the editing in this book was subpar. Usually Tiffany doesn't have this many mistakes. From name changes to repetitive words to missing words. It was way more than I've ever seen from her. Another thing that bothered me was all the hint at dom/sub relations. They hinted at it a few times and by the time they finally decided to go there the book was over felt like that wasn't completed. The epilogue was just as beautiful however, I can't give my usual 5 stars because of the errors. Still a great read and fits right in with the Townsend family.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2024I loved book 1 with Kyle and Riley, but this book was just as good if not better. I loved the best friends storyline and how their friendship started as children and turned into love. I loved how Diego was so supportive and protective over Monique. He loved her all those years, but wouldn't tell her. And he did tell her, he couldn't reel his feelings back in, with all the drama in their lives. I loved their family relationships and how they were all intermingled. Especially the grief her dad gave Diego, but in the end was for him.
*I loved his saying about he needed to moisturize my beard. Romantic and funny. Loved it.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2023I really liked this story. It’s a very sweet, heartfelt friends to lovers story. I usually don’t love friends to lovers stories because it takes forever for them to get together but not in this book.
I was excited for this story as I loved Diego and Monique in their parent’s stories. Those are two of my favorite Tiffany Patterson books.
I loved everything about Diego. He knew what he wanted and when he decided to go for it you couldn’t tell him anything. I liked Monique because how can you not? But I wanted to shake her, she’s holding so much guilt when no one blames her or feels she’s a burden. She just needed to actually talk to her family. Her not talking to them hurt them more. But at the same time I understand why she was the way she was. I just wanted to see more of the sassy, cute Monique we were introduced to.
Another good Tiffany Patterson book. Check it out!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2024I really do love reading every book. This woman writes. She is totally awesome. I don’t care what the title is. Who’s in it? I got it, but the Townsend family are the greatest start the series. You will never put it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heck yes!
Diego is the so good. A lovely combination of being kinda controlling but very accommodating and sweet and just super in love and is like I’m going to convince this woman to be my wife. He insists. Also they’re BFFs so they’re halfway there already.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but…
I love Tiffany Patterson's books, I've read almost 90% of her books and most of them have gotten 4/5 stars. But in the last few books, especially this one, Love Me has bothered me. The author uses the same "cake recipe" for all the books about the Townsend family or something related to the Townsend universe. I expected something different from this book but, I was a little disappointed. I can see the same characters in all the books... the women have great jobs, they all volunteer to overcome something from their past (volunteering is good, don't get me wrong) but it seems to have become a tradition for all the women to have or do something to help institutions. All of them! There is not a single woman who is outside some charity. Men are all alpha and have some dark past that has traumatized them all their lives... can't he just be a control freak? Just want to protect the woman he loves? Does he need to have some traumatic past? Going back to the book... I felt that the author didn't give it her all, I expected a bit of interaction between Diego and his mother, and we didn't get that, I was hoping for this interaction when the family barbecue was mentioned, I really wanted to see it and maybe miss the old characters at the barbecue but, unfortunately, it didn't happen. Monique was annoying to me throughout the book, always talking and thinking about her insecurities, even though Diego told her several times that he would always support her.
The conflict with Diego's biological brothers was unnecessary in my opinion, it would have been more interesting if Monique's ex-boyfriend was alive and wanted revenge for what they did in college, maybe a rivalry between the architecture firms? I hope the next book is a little different, maybe Kennedy is kidnapped for a whole week and leaves everyone desperate? (I want a tragedy to make me cry and despair a little for 2 chapters hahahaha) I'm not going to give up on this author because I believe she has a lot of potential, and I pray to God that she becomes even more successful in this industry.

2.0 out of 5 stars Wasn't happy with this book
I liked 'Trust ME' a lot so was looking forward to reading book 2.
Not good didn't like any of it and I'm very disappointed because Tiffany Patterson is one of my favourite author s it felt like it was written by someone else
Don't want to say anymore
