22nd edition of NITI's In-house Lecture Series! NITI Aayog organised an enlightening in-house lecture on “India’s Maritime Imperatives in the Indo-Pacific” today in New Delhi. The session was delivered by Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan, AVSM & Bar, VSM, Director General of the National Maritime Foundation, who brought deep insights into India’s evolving maritime landscape. The lecture highlighted the multi-dimensional importance of the Indo-Pacific region for India — emphasising maritime trade, strategic deterrence, sociopolitical influence, environmental concerns, and the emerging challenges of climate change. NITI Aayog organised a Regional Workshop on Darpan Portal at Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with the Government of Odisha. Smt. Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary cum Development Commissioner, Government of Odisha, inaugurated the workshop in the presence of Shri K.S. Rejimon, Joint Secretary, NITI Aayog and Dr. Yeddula Vijay, Additional Secretary, Planning and Convergence Department, Government. of Odisha. 90 State Government officials from 12 States, namely Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, and Nagaland, participated in the workshop. 🍽️ Chongkham Champions Nutrition Through Action! 7th Edition of POSHAN Pakhwada Observed at Chongkham Block, Namsai District, Arunachal Pradesh 🌿 From 8th to 22nd April 2025, Chongkham CD Block conducted a series of impactful activities to promote maternal and child nutrition under the POSHAN Abhiyaan. Key Highlights of the Campaign: 👩⚕️ Home visits were carried out jointly by AWWs and ASHAs to identify newly pregnant women, monitor child health and distribute Supplementary Nutrition Products (SNPs) to mothers, children and adolescent girls. 🥣 Nutritional support was extended across vulnerable groups including pregnant women, children aged 6 months to 3 years and adolescent girls. 📲 Pregnant women were newly registered under the Poshan Tracker to ensure continuity of care and better tracking. ✅ Children were routinely measured for growth and their health data was updated digitally for real-time monitoring. 👩👧 Mass awareness campaigns were held across Gram Panchayats to sensitise communities on issues such as childhood obesity, malnutrition among women and children, the importance of early antenatal care and available government schemes like PMMVY. With active participation from ASHAs, ANMs, HWOs and community stakeholders, the initiative reaffirmed local commitment to nourishing future generations.
