Knox
I’ve lived and breathed hockey my entire life. As Captain of the New York Slammers, I live my life the way I do on the bench.
Calm and in control.
Getting a top five defenseman wasn’t anything new, until he came strolling into the locker room.
Now, nothing about my life is controlled, and I soon find myself in the fight of my life.
And his.

Asher
Getting traded to New York was never on my bingo card.
A chance to play for the best in the league.
Hockey was my only priority.
But then I met him.
He’s my Captain. He’s off limits.
And I’ve always followed the rules.
Until now.

Risky Shot is book 1 in the NY Slammers series. Boy oh boy (pun intended) it’s a good thing. it's a series because I’d be demanding one after reading this fantastic story. Aptly named with the way these characters slammed into my heart at a breakaway speed.
Cassidy: Is a family man through and through, whether it be by blood or choice, he will always have your back. He’s loyal, dedicated, supportive, hard-working, and captain of The NY Slammers. Knox Cassidy is the ultimate team leader. Oh, and sexy as all get out too!
Bryant: Family to the core, sweet, funny, flirty, and rather competitive. A force to be reckoned with. Rose Bryant will steal your heart. Oh, sorry you thought I was talking about Asher, her grandson? Well, I might as well have been, Asher Bryant very much takes after the amazing woman who helped raise him. And I might add that this beautiful man is a work of art, and oh so hot!
Some rough times and a trade to a new team sent Asher Bryant's life in a new direction. From the minute he set foot in the Slammers locker room, you could feel the connection between him and Knox. Not just as teammates or friends, but more. I laughed, cried, yelled, cheered, giggled, swore, swooned, wtf'd, sobbed, sighed, and grinned like mad. The chemistry with these two was off the freakin’ charts!! The back and forth, ups and downs, twists and turns, and intensity of this story were worthy of a Stanley Cup final.
Oh, and Heather Lyn, I'm sending you to the penalty box for cross-checking... and you know why!
I felt like I was actually there, a friend at Knox's house, a fan in the stands, part of the group chats, and the lucky fly on the wall in that wonderful locker room. I can't wait to spend more time with the new friends and family I have gained from Risky Shot! Chop chop woman! I need book 2 stat!!

Without giving any spoilers I enjoyed this book. I love the friendships of the team and the 2 main characters. The friendship between them and falling in love omg. I love it. This story had me laughing, crying, and going awe! This book is definitely worth reading. I can’t wait to read more of this series and see what Heather has in store for us with this team.

I believe this is my first book from this author & what a emotional one it was. Asher was traded to New York to play hockey but what he didn’t realise was he was about to meet his future. Knox is the captain of the team but is worried he’s at the end of his career until he meets his new teammate.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant characters, emotional plot, and so many grammar errors

I will start by saying this really should have trigger warnings in the book/product description. It mentions something about triggers, but the warnings weren't actually listed. There is death mentions, another situation where a pov character nearly dies, and ptsd.
The characters are amazing. You fall in love with them immediately. The story is great with most of the drama coming from outside the main characters relationship, so it's a beautiful story of a supportive and healthy relationship.
The grammar issues are bad though. It's stuff that should've been caught by an editor or beta readers. Missing or wrong words, awkward sentences or descriptions that leave you unsure of what is happening in the scene. Sometimes they pull you out, but in general the story is so good it just keeps pulling you back in.
Definitely worth the read, and I will be looking forward to the next book in the series. I recommend you read it when you have a weekend to devote to it, because I got so wrapped up I ended up late to something 😅

A beautifully written love story. Asher and Knox are now teammates. Both are attracted and drawn to the other. After another run-in with paparazzi, Knox invites Asher to stay with him in his home. Soon they are good friends, soon after that they are more . This is their story, the ups and downs to the hea.

5.0 out of 5 stars The book I didn’t know I needed and the love they weren’t expecting

From the very moment I opened this book I was captivated by the characters. Heather immediately drew you in with such relatable and raw emotion that you couldn’t help but to be transported into their world. I couldn’t tell if I needed a Kleenex, a therapist, a drink, or all the above. From beginning to the end you fall harder for Asher and Knox and their developing story. I am a huge hockey fan and obviously a huge Asher and Knox fan. I can’t wait to see what’s next in their adventure. 100/10 recommend.
