But, I’m not into MMF books even though this book was also MFM. A friends to lovers romance.

Fun little book to get you in the holiday spirit! Three friends who've known each other since college realize that the chemistry between them hasn't dwindled since their college days. In true novella fashion, the getting together happens very quickly. They follow through discussing how this will impact their lives, but they all communicate well and deeply care for one another. I wouldn't count this as a sports romance, because we don't actually get a POV of a sport being played. However, Drew is a retired hockey player turned sports agent, Dean is a retired hockey player turned NHL franchise owner, and Cody currently plays in the NFL.

2.5⭐️ may be 3⭐️ if you’ve read all the other books. There are so many characters and so little explanation, it’s easy to get lost in the relationships. It’s almost like the story of these three was told elsewhere and we’re showing up at 70% into their book. The dialogue was clunky and hard to follow at times, the banter did not flow smoothly at all. I wanted to love them but just couldn’t quite get there.

The Holiday Hat Trick is the fifth book in the Taking the Shot series by M.J. Fields, featuring a spicy why choose holiday romance for Drew, Dean, and Cody. The three of them came close to having a moment three years ago, and haven’t stopped thinking about each other, despite how busy their lives have gotten outside of college. Now, Drew is a successful female sports agent, Dean is a billionaire magnate who owns a professional hockey team, and Cody is a starting quarterback in the NFL, and they are all ready to finish what they started. The steamy chemistry is off the charts HOT🔥🔥, the witty banter is entertaining, and the emotion feels authentic. I was surprised by the low level of drama given their complex relationship, but it was a fun read. I love the world building of this series and how strong the found family vibe is! The epilogue was everything, and warmed my heart so much!!🥰 I hope we see more of these characters in some way in the future!

The Holiday Hat Trick is a spicy Holiday read is your wanting really spicy. It was perfect and just in time for the holiday season. I swear I've been singing Beastie Boys - No Sleep Till Brooklyn for 2 days now! Plus, the poem at the beginning was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ in itself.

This book is about a hockey team owner who is bi-sexual and knows what he wants. A star quarterback who is confused about his sexuality and thinks he's just gay. And a Sports Agent Lawyer who wants them both and wants to explore her sexual taste. One trip to Brooklyn for the holidays had memories flooding back in for Drew when she almost had her fantasy come true. A holiday party that forces all three (Drew, Cody, and Dean) together and a whole lot of exploring that could possibly get her what she wants!

I had a hard time putting this book down to even sleep. MJ Fields did it again in writing another great book. This one just happens to be extra spicy for the holidays. If you're into sports romance with a twist, you're going to love this book. Believe when I say there is twist and turns in this book that I was even gasping at. Pick up your copy today. I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Holiday Hat Trick . I absolutely loved this story . It's full of fantastic characters from other stories both in and out of the series . This is one of the most smoking and sexy holiday stories I have ever read . I have been waiting for their story . It's got an Unconventional relationship for some . Some people can't help who or whom they love . Drew Daniels Sport Agent finds herself with feelings for both college friends Dean Costello and Cody Warren . Drew was lovers with Dean but the two wanted to hook up with Cody also but it was interrupted before it could happen . Several years later they come face to face at a holiday party mega rich Dean is throwing. He plans on winning both Drew and Cody's hearts . The three have smoking chemistry and are perfect matches . To be together they must work to make it possible with the understanding and love from the family they built . This story is full of laughs and love a spectacular and amazing sexy romance . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

I’ve been looking forward to a story about Drew, Dean and Cody since they were first introduced earlier in the series. I am so happy we got them and it’s a why choose situation.

I enjoyed the connection between the three of them.

The book was the perfect length to tell their love story. Not too little but not too long.

I loved the ending they got!

Devon, Dean, and Cody have had feelings for each other since college, now adults with careers and lives, they reunite over the holiday and embark on a journey to the relationship of their lives.

This book has super funny moments, lots of witty banter and TONS of smut. I would say it is 85% smut 15% plot. So if that is your thing, this is the book for you. I will say - the spicy scenes are GIVING. SO much chemistry between the three MCs and you can really tell they have been developing that chemistry for years.

If you have not read the rest of the series, the characters and relationships won’t make as much sense as if you read it as a standalone, but it can be read as a standalone.

This was everything I wanted it to be and more. MJ Fields made me feel ALL the feels with these wonderfully loveable MCs, and she knocked my Christmas socks off with the absolutely, delicious MMF spice!

I completely fell in love with Drew, Cody, & Dean, and all of the emotional intricacies of their story. Even with the novella length, the character connection is strong, and the storyline didn’t feel rushed.

I usually feel like the quick & dirty, why choose plots are missing some depth or details, but this one delivers on both. MJ wrote it beautifully, and you can really feel the love, support, and admiration these three have for each other …plus, all of the amazingly smutty scenes were done to perfection!

Drew, Cody and Dean had a connection at school but never followed through on it. Now, several years later, they are back together. Will they allow themselves to fall for each other?

This is a stand alone story but I highly recommend you read the previous books in the series as it introduces these characters to us, and gives you an understanding of them all.

The connection between Drew, Cody and Dean is evident and wonderful when they all allow themselves what they truly desire. It was great to see them all in this why choose romance - it was the perfect way for them.

The banter and the spice hits all the right places, and although this story is short, it doesn’t fall short - in fact it delivers everything you want and need from a why choose romance.

Review: MJ Fields is at it again with this final book within the Taking The Shot universe! The Holiday Hat Trick is an ultra spicy, swoon filled holiday romance featuring Drew, Dean and Cody who were introduced in the main series and who never got their HEA. The way MJ was able to intertwine the college hockey boys and the professional sports worlds she has created is phenomenal and I loved getting to see Drew in her element. From the way Dean was always in love with her to the way Cody snuck into their hearts was exactly right for these three.

I enjoyed getting to see all the previous couples again as well as a few cameos of characters from older books MJ has written. THHT seamlessly blends the two worlds together and sets the stage for her upcoming releases. I loved getting to read more about Dean and his bond with Drew that we saw forming in Dylan’s book as well as getting more insight into who Cody Warren was from Kameron’s book. The character development within this book was a plus since MJ was able to grow them in a way that felt organic but not rushed and I flat out LOVE Drew! The way MJ created her character in this book and made her to be a bada** sports agent was perfect in my opinion since she always exuded that level of strength.

THHT is a SPICY book. The intense attraction all three had burned the pages and I found myself unable to put it down until the end. I loved how Drew and Dean shared the bond from college since it only made Dean’s POV more intense. I also appreciated how MJ tackled the topic of Cody and his sexual orientation with his career. She truly was able to make me feel the concern they all had about their relationship affecting his team. There was no third act break up in this book and I loved how both men just went after Drew full stop.

Rating: 5/5, Drew, Dean and Cody’s romance is the perfect combo of holiday swoon and fated lust!

The tag line says it all. The Holiday Hat Trick is a steamy why choose sports romance! This was a great story to get you into the holiday spirit. Can definitely be read as a standalone, but I loved knowing all the past characters and their backstories and how they all became friends. Dean, Cody and Drew have always clicked from the get go, they never took their attraction further as they were still confused themselves about the unconventional bond they shared with one another.

Once they took it to the next level it was all systems go, steam factor and chemistry was through the roof and I was absolutely here for every minute of it. It was such a fun read and yet the emotional connections were still the heart of the story. A fantastic read.

The Holiday Hat Trick: A Why Choose Sports Romance by M. J. Fields continues the Taking the Shot college hockey romance series of 4 books. This book is an MMF holiday romance, not my favorite sports romance read. The Holliday Hat Trick was as incredible a story as all her other books, penned with lots of spice sprinkled throughout. Drew, a lawyer turned sports agent (a former woman’s hockey player), has been friends with Cody, an NFL QB, and Dean, owner of his hockey team since college. When the three spent time together, they discovered love and a newly formed relationship that ended in a HEA for the record books. With M. J. Fields writing the story, you know it’s a book you will enjoy and savor long after reading the last page.

I loved Drew's story as she gets her chance to have both the men she has wanted for years. One is Dean Costello, who owns the hockey team her twin sister coaches for, and the other is quarterback Cody Warren who she represents as his agent. She has known them both since college and almost got her chance back then, but it wasn't to be. Since then they have all been busy with their lives, but now, the years later, she is going to finally have another run at them. The holidays are here and she is ready to get her gifts.

These three are perfect together. Love the 'practice kids' and the ending is epic. Can't wait for the next books that will extend the families... and the sports. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

When Cody, Dean, and Drew decide to try a relationship, they go ALL IN. I love that Dean and Cody finally get not just someone, but real family to go along with their relationship. They both needed family. And the three of them are being claimed by the Links/Ross clan, which just adds more fun. I wish so many of the scenes didn't end before the grand finales. The three of them together—yum. I like the family and friends responses to everything, especially Duncan’s. He was beyond amazing. Overall the story was good. I like the Links family had such important parts.

This is the fourth book following the hockey guys from Lincoln University. We get to follow Drew (the female college hockey player who started a sports agency) Dean (the rich boy who bought a hockey team) and Cody (a NFL quarterback who went to college with them).

The story at times was a little hard to follow with the conversations, I would reread them to keep track, but the scenes were spicy and there is always humor in all her stories.

I also love when you can follow past characters and see where they are now.

All In all a spicy/cute why choose sports holiday romance.

It’s been three years since Drew finished college and embarked on her career as a sports agent. The one regret that she has is that she was never able to explore the chemistry between Dean, Cody and herself but a Christmas party could change everything.

Cody now plays football successfully while Dean has transitioned from playing hockey to owning a team. They have both wondered what might have been with Drew and each other and now they finally have the chance to find out.

The chemistry between them radiates off the pages and the interactions between them are entertaining. I enjoyed seeing them have the opportunity to be together the way they always should have been.

Oh boy I was not expecting to love this as much as I did. This was an intense,emotional read and I was sooo here for it!! College friends who had feelings for each other, but didn’t know what to do with those feelings until now. Drew is successful in her own right and she is drawn to Dean and Cody. Three very successful people in sports related businesses all extremely drawn to each other. How do they handle their emotions? What do they do with their feelings? There are a few walls up but those feelings will knock those walls right down. This is a well layered book with a great story and strong characters. Characters that had to figure out how to make their relationship and feelings work and boy did they work everything out. I truly enjoyed this book and the journey the story took me on. The chemistry was hot and the banter was perfect. I have enjoyed reading everything written by this author so far and can’t wait to see what is next.

I love Dean I have from the get go… his heart is bigger than his bank account and THAT’S saying something …. He’s just this incredible man who loves bigger than life… Drew and all her sass …. Cody finally finding his family… his REAL family… that accepts and loves and nurtures… They all needed each other to be complete .. I do wish it had been full length, that’s my only complaint… I love how everyone rallied around them.. I love how other people from other series were pulled in… I LOVED the spice…. I just flat out LOVED this novella… and that ending was absolute chefs kiss

Oh wow this is such a hot steamy read that you will love.
Drew and Dean were drawn to each other in college and when Cody started at the college the chemistry went up a notch but nothing happened between them.
Now three years later and with the chemistry still there and even hotter will they take a chance on each other.
I loved how they were together but could they make it work especially when it's a taboo relationship.
A must read with plenty of drama and so much emotion but also a love that shines through.

I loved reading this quick, steamy Christmas romance! I’m so glad that Drew, Cody and Dean all got their happily ever after. The family they created together when they all let their guard down was beautiful.

MJ Fields has created a great series that I’ll definitely read again. I highly recommend reading if you love great banter, steam and feisty fmc’s and mmc’s that fight for what they want most.

Ok if the name alone doesn’t catch your attention then the blurb will. This was well written and had great characters who will suck you into the pages of the book. Absolutely loved the banter between them. I must that MMF is not my favorite genre but this was done well. You will love Cody, Dean and Drew they are fun. Yeah the way they handle their relationship may be unconventional for some but it just works for them. I would highly recommend this book

I’m not usually a big fan of MMF romances, however, the Lincoln U series was great and I was curious about these 3 characters.

Cody is a football player, Dean owns a hockey team, and Drew is a sports agent. The 3 had a moment in college 3 years prior and now during the holidays they have a chance to finish. They all fall for each other and have to decide how to proceed. Low angst and good spice. Definitely give it a chance!

Such a fun story!
A great sexy holiday read.
The trio have been friend for awhile and realize maybe they could be more.
And it quickly gets steamy as all MJ Fields books do(one of the reasons I love her)
But it's not just spice there is a love between the three that touched my heart.
I am really enjoying this series. Great characters! The interconnection between friends and sports are great.
I can't wait to see what's next!

I wasn't sure how it would work with these three, but damn they are hot together. Love seeing all the Lincoln troop together again. This is a love story I didn't see coming but have to say one of my favorites to read. Again, she knocks it out of the park. You will not regret reading this.

FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK

I am seriously sad that I finished this book as fast as I did and I get to reread it again and again. I don't have to say you need to be a MJ Fields fan 😉 but if you aren't you're missing out big time. This is probably one of the best that MJ has put out. I laughed and cried and couldn't put it down. Is ten stars an option well it should be.
