I was four when my parents gave me my first pair of skates. By six, I was hooked on hockey and couldn’t get enough. At twelve, I had made a name for myself on the ice. And when I was fifteen, colleges were starting to take notice.

Life was great—until it wasn’t. Because when I was seventeen, my best friend died in my arms. And nothing made sense after that. Drinking turned to smoking. And smoking turned to pills. But no matter how high I got, I couldn’t erase that night. Or the guilt I felt.

Because that night had been my fault. And my friend was dead … because of me.

As my best friend’s baby sister, an actual angel sent from above, Haley Thompson is forbidden fruit, and I should stay away from her. Because everything I touch turns to crap. But like all things I’m not supposed to do, chasing her is another temptation I’m not strong enough to avoid. But when I spiral down, hitting my lowest point, I know I can’t take her with me. Because innocent, sweet souls like her, they don’t belong at the bottom.

The trouble is, she refuses to let go of me. Even if it will ruin her.

Even if I will ruin her.

Goodness. Where do I even begin? I truly didn’t think any book was ever going to be able to top Filthy Boy for me, & it’s definitely a close call… but Lost Boy won my heart over just a tiny bit more. The way I was able to relate to this story & really feel each & every emotion through these characters… unmatched. I just absolutely adore their story.

Lost Boy is book 5 in the Puck Boys of Brooks University Series following Haley & Cade. We met Haley in book 4 as Hunter’s little sister. She ends up having to move in with Hunter & two of his teammates — including Cade — when her dorm is flooded & needs a place to stay. Cade Huff is a star defenseman on the Brooks University hockey team & is known as a bit of a playboy who likes to party. But what nobody realizes is how much Cade is struggling behind his funny playboy persona due to trauma from his past. He knows his best friend’s little sister is off-limits, but what happens when she might be the only one who can save him from himself…

Cade is truly the perfect example of a broken hero. He reminded me so much of Brody who has always been my favorite. But Cade’s character development & the way he really turned his life around was amazing. & I loved that Haley was his constant. Being a major support person in an addicts life is one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through personally & I really admired how much she cared for Cade & never gave up on him. I know it’s only January but I’m pretty confident in saying that this will 100% be a top read for me this year. It’s my new favorite book & one I haven’t been able to stop thinking about since I finished it. As always, Hannah did an incredible job & I highly recommend reading Cade & Haley’s story — just be sure to check TW’s beforehand 🩵

I still feel like days after finishing this I don’t have the words to truly express how much I loved this book and the writing. So many heavy topics handle with such gentle care, adding so much emotion & depth to this story and these characters.

from finding out in the last book that Haley was pregnant and Cade was the father I was so excited for their book and to see how things would pan out. It was everything and more that i could have hoped for in a book. Cade is this fun, down to earth hockey player dealing with his demons through drugs. His past is heartbreaking and seeing his character spiral out of control and those lucid moments when he wants to do right but knowing he isn’t capable of that. My heart shattered 😭.

Haley crushing on her brothers bestfriend for a long while and finding herself being their temporary roommate. I love the relationship she built with Cade. The hot/cold vibes he gave thought 😭. But the kind gestures and things he did to remind her he does care 🥹🥹. & once she came yo realize the demons he was battling and just wanted to save him broke me all over again. Wanting to be enough to save him but knowing it takes so much more than that and making the tough decision to reach out for help. Haley truly handled everything so well and I think that speaks so much about her character but also the friends/family she has supporting her every step of the way.

watching Cades recovering, talking through those therapy sessions and learning to love & forgive himself was beautiful.

This book was wrapped up so perfectly and I wasn’t ready for it to end. I love Cade & Haley so much and already want to re read their story.

Thank you so much Wordsmith Publicity & Hannah for the eArc In exchange for an honest review.

THIS IS A MASTERPIECE!!!! That is literally all I have to say about Lost Boy…. Yeah, not really. I can talk about this book ALL DAY.

Lost Boy is the 5th book in the Puck Boys of Brooks University Series following Haley Thompson & Cade Huff. We met Haley in Hunter’s book towards the end of Chosen Boy makes you want to jump right into Lost Boy. Haley moved in with her brother & a few other hockey players because her place was flooded. Cade Huff is Hunters best friend, roommate & teammate. Haley has always had a crush on him and now he finally notices her once she moved in. Hunter told his friends that his sister is off limits. Will that stop Cade from making a move?

Haley & Cade become friends and the flirtation between them doesn’t stop & Cade keeps telling himself that its not a good idea to get involved with his best friend’s little sister. But when Cade sees her at a party with someone else, everything changes. He can’t hold back any longer.

This WHOLE BOOK had me all emotional. I laughed & cried. I cried SOO MUCH. Cade Huff is number one boyfriend from the Puck Boys series. Brody you’re still my number two don’t you worry. Cade just did it for me. You guys know how much I love this series if you follow me. I can’t stop recommending this. If you haven’t read this series yet, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

I can’t wait for you all to read Cade & Haley’s story when it’s released on 1/11.

When I look at Cade, I don’t see an addict. I see the funniest person I’ve ever met. The best gift giver. A sturdy shoulder to cry on. A lopsided grin that lights up the entire room. A strong set of arms that gives the greatest hugs. And mostly … I see the world’s greatest dad. And the man I love.

Cade Huff.
The hot hockey player with a troubled past.
A history of substance abuse.
The outgoing life of the party.
The skillful facade.

I don’t blame Hunter for not wanting me to get too close to his angel sister. I’m a bad guy. And bad guys should stay away from good girls.

Hailey Thompson.
Forced to move in with her brother and his teammates.
She’s had a crush on Cade for years.
He did not seem to know she exists.
Suddenly, she has his attention.

Just because I can’t be with her doesn’t mean I want anyone else to either. Because I sure as hell don’t.

I LOVED CADE. This was such a refreshing and a new take on a hockey romance with a plot that had something traditional but something completely new.

I never thought I’d be the hero in any story. But holding her like this sure makes me wish I could be.

The way Cade’s addiction was described was so skillful it completely ruined me. I felt like I could understand the reasons behind it and how, once he was deep enough in it, it felt impossible to get out anymore. Also, the way the addiction affecting his life and behavior was described was *chef’s kiss*

I’m not a good guy. Even if I wish I could be, just to be worthy of her. She is the sun. And I’m just a storm moving through that could ruin her if I got too close. I refuse to do that. She’s too special for me to destroy her.

Hailey was sweet and a bit innocent as well. Her infatuation with Cade was something I did not know how I felt about but when he started being all possessive about her, I was all for it.

In addition to the traditional brother’s best friend and roommates tropes, there is also a dash of addiction and a surprise pregnancy. A little bit of something to everyone, if I may say so.

This whole time, I’ve felt like he didn’t see me. Maybe I’m the one who had my eyes closed.

I was actually a bit surprised of how fast the whole rehab and pregnancy were skirted over but, at the same time, I understand that the main focus was on the development of Hailey and Caleb’s relationship before everything blew up. However, I love how Cade stuck with the rules from the rehab and they spent a whole year apart after he got out before getting back together and being intimate again.

At some point, I thought this might be a five-star read for me but the slow beginning and the boring end brought it strongly down to the four-star camp.

I received an ARC of Lost Boy in exchange for an honest review

SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥

Hello book hangover! Y’all I am not okay after reading that… my heart took a beating during that one, and sent me on a whole rollercoaster of emotions, because Hannah Gray has a way of taking real life gritty things and making them beautiful. My heart broke a few times, and I sobbed ugly tears through like half of this, but the happy ending more than made up for all the heartbreak.

Just a fair warning, this book deals with heavy topics such as addiction, loss and recovery, but it was handled so well, and really added depth to Cade and Haley’s story.

It’s no secret Hannah is one of my auto buy authors, but this book… this book hit different! Cade is the funny, brash defenseman hiding a growing addiction, and Haley is his best friend’s sunshine little sister. Haley has always had a bit of a crush on Cade and when she moves into the hockey house with him and her brother, that attraction grows and even though Cade knows he is no good for her, he can’t stay away.

Watching Cade fight his demons while keeping everyone, especially Haley in the dark was gut wrenching. He was hot and cold and you could feel his struggle through the pages. But one thing was certain- how much he cared for Haley even if he couldn’t express it in healthy ways. And Haley… the world needs more people inherently good like Haley Thompson. She was so loyal and understood Cade’s needs and recovery so well even when she had to make the hard calls.

Ugh, I’m getting emotional just thinking about them again. And when it all falls apart and Haley finds out she is expecting, the way she and Cade both handle it in time is just gorgeous and hopeful and everything an accidental pregnancy trope should be. I just fell in love with these hockey boys, and Hunter and Gentry just wormed their way further into my heart in this one. This was such a great twist on brother’s best friend and how Hunter handled everything.

And I have to say, Coach LaConte deserves to be in the side character hall of fame. Someone get that man a best coach ever trophy.

I loved every second of this and even though the plot was heavier than the spice. The spice was perfect and I finally got my “crawl to me” moment so I’m a happy girl.

I don’t know what else to say other than read this. Let this book shatter your heart and put it back together and fall in love with these characters just the way I did.

Ans I never thought I would say this after Chosen Boy, but I want Poppy to get a book now. 🤣

I've been trying to figure out how to review Lost Boy for the past two weeks & the one thing I keep coming to is that this read deserves something higher than infinity stars. Hannah gave us such a heart breaking yet beautiful love story. This book broke me but my god was the happy ending so worth it.

Lost Boy is a book centered around addiction & recovery. Haley falls in love with her brother's best friend, but while falling in love she misses the signs because Cade has spent years hiding his addiction.

I would like to note that Hannah made me cry for about 85% of the book. The way she was able to captured the inner dialogue of addiction, broke me. While Cade has an outward sunny goofy personality but the thoughts in his head are the complete opposite.

Overall, this book needs to be read by everyone. This was the most beautifully written love story I've ever read. Hannah will have you crying, laughing and giving you the

I would like to start this saying.... Hannah Gray writes actual masterpieces and I am actually obsessed with her writing and the stories she tells through her work.
Cade and Haley..... I am not sure how to put into words how much emotion this story brought to me. Cade struggles with a dr*g addiction. This is quite a heavy topic for most people but I will say.... this is not just your regular hockey romance/love story.... this is a love letter to everyone who has struggled or has been there with a family member who struggles. Thank you, Hannah, for releasing this book and giving people hope.

Now... onto my actual review.
Haley Thompson. Someone Cade should absolutely stay far away from... the good girl.. the girl with a traumatic past....and the sister of his teammate. Her apartment flooded and now she has no place to stay... until she moves in with her brother and his teammates (Cade being one of them). The tension is high. They can't seem to stay away from each other or keep their eyes off one another.
After one drunken night.. with no protection... it begins the spiral of their whole lives changing.

From the prologue to the epilogue of this book I was in tears... whether it be from crying or laughing. You will feel every single emotion during this read and man oh man is it worth it.
I absolutely recommend reading this book. If I could have rated it infinity stars... I absolutely would have. Enjoy the ride friends and the hope this gives family and friends of people who struggle with addictions.

This is the 5th book in Hannah’s Puck Boys series and this is the most emotional one so far. This book was a roller coaster…so if you decide to go in, you better buckle up. At the end of the 4th book you find out about Cade and Hailey’s relationship and what is going on there. This book starts 4 months prior to that scene.

Cade is the ultimate playboy, and Hailey is Hunter Thompson’s little sister. When she needs to move in he starts feeling things that he is not used to and he decides he won’t act on it because he thinks that he is not good enough for her, and he never will be.
Hailey has always had some feelings for Cade. She sees him under the surface and knows that he has some demons. She is not afraid of them no matter how much he tries to warn her away.

This story is heart wrenching and beautiful. It’s about redemption and overcoming. These two definitely had to work for their HEA, but once they get there? It’s SO sweet. Their relationship was so genuine and I was so happy for them to overcome all the obstacles they faced at the end.
I loved Haley so much. Despite her own trauma, she never backed down from Cade and offering herself for whatever he needed.
CADE….This man says over and over again that he’s selfish. He knows he isn’t perfect…he admits his faults. And still for her he is so willing to give her everything he can. The lengths that this man goes to…My heart!!!

Thank you Hannah and team for eARC. I really enjoyed reading this one and cannot wait for the next one. If you decide to go into this one, please check trigger warnings as there are discussions of drug/alcohol addiction, rehab, and death of close friend.

I’m so speechless still! I’m completely blown away with this book! I knew going into it from the last book Chosen boy, that this story was going to be an emotional read. And boy was it! I think that I cried throughout most of it!

Haley is an angel sent to Cade to get him through everything! While he was struggling to come to terms that he indeed needed help, Cade found something he needed and out of it came a beautiful love story!

Cade's struggle and journey to recovery was a rough one and I felt for him the whole time! And Haley, she is one strong FMC to have gone through everything she does and to still be positive and supportive in the end.

Honestly this is a must read if you love a story of redemption with a HEA!

I have to be honest, I wasn’t too sure about Cade in the beginning. He was a very blunt playboy who’s comments rubbed me the wrong way a time or two, but by the end HOLY HANNAH, I loved him, the real him so so freaking much. Cade and Haley’s story was heartbreakingly beautiful, there is no other way to describe it. By the end of their story I was absolutely sobbing in the best way. Highly recommend.

The fifth instalment in the Puck Boys of Brooks University series by Hannah Gray releases 11 January and it is not one to be missed! This book is a beautiful example of you never know what demons someone is facing behind their smile.

At the end of the fourth book, we find out that Cade has relapsed and Haley drops a pretty big bomb 💣. The book starts four months prior to this scene. The way that Hannah wrote the connection and developing relationship between Cade and Haley was so special, even as Cade began to spiral and his addiction took over. His behaviour was SO frustrating and gut wrenching at times but learning more about his past and his trauma made me feel so deeply for him. It really goes to show that you don’t know the pain others are in when they are hiding it behind goofy jokes, sexual innuendo and a grin.

This story had so many profound and important conversations between the characters and my favourites were definitely the ones between Cade and Coach LaConte. He offered him such stability and support once he was out of rehab.

I loved Haley so much. Despite her own trauma, she never backed down from Cade and offering herself for whatever he needed. Their relationship was so genuine and I felt super proud of them for what they achieved despite the obstacles in their way, their ages and their past traumas. I loved how Haley’s love and support was unwavering and their baby really bought them closer together.

This story was SO emotional and Hannah really wrote it so beautifully and with respect.

What to expect:

- Bad boy x good girl
- Close proximity
- Accidental pregnancy

all I can say is THIS IS A MASTERPIECE

Cade Huff is her brothers best friend. She’s had a crush on him forever and now he finally notices her. Hunter is quick to warn his friends off of Haley because she’s been through a lot. That doesn’t stop Cade though.

Haley and Cade become unlikely friends, with the occasional flirtation between them. But when Cade sees her at a party with someone else, everything changes. But then Haley finds out he’s been using again and doesn’t know what to do.

I don’t wanna say much more without spoiling it! But I will say this had my emotions all over the place. Cade is HYSTERICAL. He had me laughing throughout this whole book. But there were some really sad parts and I felt every emotion possible. Cade definitely took the top spot for pick boys of Brooks.

Can’t wait for y’all to read this on January 11th🥹🫶🏼

hannah gray actually managed to make me love a book with accidental pregnancy.... i am SHOOK. that's talent 🤣👏

seriously tho, cade & haley's story was quite the emotional rollercoaster. i have said it so many times before and i will say it again - sports romances with emotional impacts are some of my favorite types of books and hannah gray pulls that off so well every time. this story focuses heavily on addiction and i thought it was portrayed really, really well.

haley was one of my favorite FMCs of recent reads. she was so strong and supportive of cade always, but still called him out on his sh*t. she was so incredibly good for him and i loved how fiercely they loved each other. 🫶

cade was such a goofy, loving guy with some tough demons. i adored his character and he was so strong once he really committed 🥹 i'm highkey proud of a fictional character 🤣

now this accidental pregnancy - if you are someone who hates that trope, swears there's no way you could ever like it, believe me, i was that person 110%, but somehow, SOMEHOW, in this book.... it was perfection 👏 it was so good for the story and made so much sense. i lowkey feel like something would have been missing if it wasn't there 🤷‍♀️ trust me, JUST READ IT! 🫶

The way this book destroyed me and put me back together surprised me. Cade's story is without a doubt my favorite of the whole series, Hannah said since she announced it that this was going to be one of the hard ones because of the subject it deals with (addiction. check TW) and also one of the hard ones to write and I think she did one of the best jobs in bringing a story that seemed so real to me because it shows us every scenario of what a person is like in this kind of abuse and I think that is the only reason it gets the 5 stars (10 actually because this book deserves more than 5 stars).

Haley and Cade's story was not easy, she is his best friend's sister, temporary roommates and she is very "innocent" (in Cade's words) so he had his reservations about a relationship with her, but come on, the forbidden is tempting and if you read the previous book we know how this couple turned out but we didn't know their whole background and reading it was a wild ride, but in a good way. Haley was a saving grace for Cade, but he was a saving grace for her too. Their personalities were opposite but they complemented each other so well that even with Cade's fears he knew she was the one for him.

This story is about overcoming, it's clear that the love of family, friends and true love can help you save yourself, but if you don't do your part, they won't be able to help you.

This book made me cry a lot, I cried a lot for Haley but most of all I cried a lot for Cade, Hannah, you wrote a story that will stay with me forever, a story that made me see a reality, a story that made me believe in love and that's why I say THANK YOU.

✨ Thanks to the author and Wordsmith Publicity for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!!

---

🌶🌶🌶

This is my first Hannah Gray book and she has ruined me. She literally left me speechless. It’s raw. It’s gritty. It’s beautifully written. It’s a masterpiece. This book isn’t just your regular hockey romance. This is an ode to anyone who has struggled with addiction or who has loved someone struggling with addiction. I cried from the prologue to the epilogue tears of laughter, sadness, and happiness. The emotional roller coaster I was on was epic. It took me a while to process what I was going to write because I have to give this book the justice it deserves. Hannah set the bar high for all 2024 books. This right here,is ranked a top read for me.

Haley Thompson is the good girl. The girl with a traumatic past. Hunter’s sister, which makes her forbidden. She is the one that playboy hockey star Cade Huff is drawn to. Cade is battling his own demons and knows he should stay away from her. Haley doesn’t allow anything to keep her down, so she seems to see behind the mask that Cade hides behind. Tensions between them are high and no matter how many times he pushes her away, she stands strong. When Cade realizes that this angel was sent to save him, he works hard at giving her the HEA she deserves.

Thank you so much Hannah & Wordsmith Publicity for ARC.

I am truly in AWE and at a loss for words, Hannah you have 𝘼𝘽𝙎𝙊𝙇𝙐𝙏𝙀𝙇𝙔 outdone yourself with this book. This book deserves all the recognition and hype.

Two words to describe this book perfectly: 𝙍𝙖𝙬 and 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙡. This book is truly an addict’s love story, there are ups and downs and heartbreaking moments. Read your triggers.

Let me start by saying, I read this book in one sitting - less than 24 hours, could NOT put it down. I knew Cade was going to be damaged and I was going to be heartbroken while reading this, but I did not expect to be emotional from prologue to ending. There was not a page, paragraph, sentence, word, letter… that did not belong and enhance this book.

"𝙎𝙝𝙚'𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙄'𝙙 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩."

This book 𝙏𝙍𝙐𝙇𝙔 captured the ups and downs, ins and outs, and tragedies of addiction and recovery. Cade and Haley’s story was heartbreaking, but oh so beautiful. Cade is a pain killer addict who falls for his teammate and best friend’s little sister, Haley. While he knows he should stay away, Haley becomes the light in his darkness that suppresses his demons, even if temporarily. Haley falls hard and fast for Cade, ignoring or not noticing the signs of addiction. Once she recognizes it, she’ll do anything to make him whole again.

“𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙨' 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙜𝙪𝙮𝙨. 𝘼 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙚. 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙣."

You are able to see the true development of their relationship and dealing with addiction in this book, Hannah didn’t just deliver us a happy ending where everything works out perfectly without trails and tribulations. We as readers are able to see the stages Cade goes through to become a better man for Haley and his baby, which I appreciated and just made the story more authentic. This story isn’t black and white, as addiction isn’t either, there are many shades of gray of recovery and being and staying sober. Each shade of gray was written beautifully, Hannah.

"𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙤 𝙬𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙥 𝙞𝙣 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣'𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙮 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥."

There were so many wholesome moments in this book - the pizza and bookstore date, the little gifts he left her, the handwritten notes, the moment he shows up at her door in the rain, him telling Haley she saved his life. I just melted, swooned, sobbed, all the emotions.

"𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙄'𝙡𝙡 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝘼𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨."

4.5 Stars

I loved Cade and Haley's story so much. If you are reading the books in order, this starts before the big reveal in Chosen Boy then catches up and keeps on going. So, if time jumping isn't your thing, then this book isn't for you. Also, there are some heavy topics (addiction, loss, recovery) to be mindful of when reading. While these topics were handled with the utmost care and respect, it does read heavy and the levity takes quite a while to reach.

But, the story is overall so well written. It didn't feel like a typical read of this type, the issues are thoroughly discussed and lived on page. Nothing about this book feels easy, making it a hard hitter right to the feelings gut. The HEA here is totally earned, by the characters and reader alike.

As much as I truly loved this book and its characters, it did feel so heavy for me at times. I know that this is appealing to many, and while I do appreciate it so much, I just didn't care for the overwhelming sadness throughout the first 2/3 really of the book. For what this was it was SO GOOD, but I think it just wasn't perfect for me.

Overall, I would read this book again. Hannah's writing style has grown on me so much and I love the perspective she brings to her novels. I love how her stories are so well woven into each other and the characters feel like real people. I LOVED the ending and how Cade's life plays out and I am so excited for Gentry's book!

Outstanding read!! Lost Boy is book #5 in The Puck Boys of Brooks University. It's the story of Cade Huff and Haley Thompson. Haley is Hunter's (from Book #4) little sister. Cade is Hunter's teammate and BF. Cade and Haley's story was an emotional roller-coaster with lots of highs and lows. I love a book that portrays struggle and trauma realistically. I want the raw emotion and hard truths. Lost Boy definitely delivers. It shows Cade's struggle with drug addiction in a completely honest way. No sugar coating or rushed solutions because that's not how drug rehab works. Haley has her own past trauma and my only negative in this book is that we didn't see more of her dealing with the aftermath of her kidnapping and assault. We get glimpses about how lost she feels in her place in the world and which allows her to see beneath Cade's "fun" facade.

I loved this couple. They always supported each other and protected one another. Cade and Haley fit each other and their chemistry was electric. Their story is not for the faint of heart. But the pain and struggle is worth the HEA.

5/5⭐️ 3/5🌶️

Now I know I keep saying every time Hannah brings out a new book the male main character from that book is then my favourite from the series… well she’s done it again because I am officially a Cade Huff girlie.

Lost Boy follows Cade, Brooks’s very own playboy, hockey god and team joker. But no one truly knows him, no one sees his daily struggles and no one thinks he’s relapsing from a drug addiction. When his best friend’s little sister, Haley, becomes his new roommate, she is a different type of temptation Cade is used to and one he’s trying not to get addicted to. What happens when he finally gives into that temptation?

I truly think this might be my favourite book in the series so far! It’s was emotional yet made me laugh, it touch on real life struggles but made me so hopeful that they would be overcome. Cade Huff may have been suffering with his mental health and his addiction but that didn’t take away from the type of person he is. I emphasised with his story but so happy we also got to see the caring side of him throughout his interactions with Haley.

I also loved Haley. Every person should be like Haley where she cares so deeply and will always be by a persons side when needed. This book may not have been a typical love story, but it certainly was an amazing one! I can’t wait to continue this series with Watson and Ryann.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I read Lost Boy: A Brother's Best Friend, Hockey Romance (The Puck Boys of Brooks University Book 5) by Hannah Gray. I LOVED this book and it had my heart feeling all kinds of emotions.

Haley Thompson moved in with her brother Hunter, and his best friends Cade and Watson after an incident with a stalker. She is immediately drawn to Cade. She loves to read smutty books and eat junk food.

Cade Huff can’t seem to stay away from Haley but doesn’t feel like he can be with her either. Cade is a star on the hockey team and has never had a relationship but is ladies man with a reputation. He is dealing with a lot that he doesn’t talk about among them is a drug problem and the loss of a friend.

This book explored what it’s like to have a dependency on drugs and how hard it is not just on the user but his loved ones as well. I loved how Haley was strong, stood beside him, never pressured him, never made him feel bad, and never stopped showing him how much she cared. Cade put in the work, forgave himself, and stuck to his sobriety. My review is not doing this book justice you just have to read it for yourself bc this book and these characters will win your heart!!! I was given this ARC for my honest thoughts and opinions. I loved EVERYTHING about this book!!!

I’ve read the other books in Hannah Grays’s hockey series, “The Puck Boys of Brooks University,” but “Lost Boy” grabbed me from the prologue, and I didn’t put it down—I didn’t want to. My heart ached for Cade and those especially around him. The destruction he made with his life due to drug addiction, believing he was hiding it well, was beyond sad. Hannah Gray was able to provide perspectives from both those who loved and cared for him that were impacted, as well as Cade’s denial that he had a problem.

I appreciated the author not making this a story of a character going to rehab and being “healed” immediately but showing that it is a struggle. Cade did go to rehab and still had challenges. He tried to stop on his own several times. It wasn’t pleasant. But ultimately, he needed help again.

“Lost Boy” will undoubtedly be one hockey story I will remember.

I received a copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

love this couple!!!

Oh Cade is so funny! I love his crude humor.
Haley is such a sweetheart with a sweet tooth.

Cade is a hockey player who is dealing with a drug addiction. He hides it well but he is starting to get in deep.

Haley ends up living with her brother and some of his hockey teammates because her place flooded. She has always had a crush on her brother’s best friend , Cade, and now she is living with him and is trying to not let her feelings show.

They both get jealous when they see the other around a guy or girl.
They both come home from a party, drunk and let all their feelings out (drunkin’ words are sober thoughts *wink*- which leads to accidental pregnancy).

Oh the trials they both have to individually overcome and together.

I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one!

Hannah has once again absolutely outdone herself writing such an incredible story!! The way I want to hug Cade and Haley so tightly and keep them close to me forever!!

This story was everything, I felt so many emotions while reading it and that’s when you know a book is good. Cade is such a flawed character and Haley is the heroine of his story, proving the love can truly change someone and can give you the help you need even in the darkest of circumstances.

The Lost Boy has a complex plot and it is done so perfectly, I loved how raw and realistic it felt. I can’t praise this story enough, I loved it so much ❤️❤️

This was such an emotional journey for both main characters!

Right away in the book, you can feel the connection and chemistry between Cade and Haley. I loved reading about all the little things Cade did for her and how he paid attention to the little things, and acting on them.

My favorite part of the book was just how Haley stuck with Cade through the highs and lows. Definitely make sure to have your tissues ready!

This mostly sucked. I never got a true sense of who these characters were. I read this as a stand alone so I’m willing to admit that maybe that was my mistake. But this doesn’t work. There’s references to Haley (the fmc) being stalked and kidnapped last year, I have to assume that appears in another book? She never deals with that. She’s fine. No big deal. Eat candy, everything is fine.
The mmc is an addict, which is interesting but the book feels too scared to do anything with it. He just goes to rehab, he’s fine.
The fmc has a big medical issue with her pregnancy, something is happening! Nope, the book cuts to hours later, it’s fine.
I couldn’t turn my brain off either, how old are they? Like 19? The fmc has zero issues with her family about being pregnant, her parents buy her a house, she doesn’t have to reckon with making choices between her studies and raising a baby, so no issues there.
This is also a brother best friend, her brother also seems totally cool with everything. Even when the mmc is in rehab.
Nothing about this felt real.
Would not recommend.
This also has strong ‘she’s not like other girls’ vibes. She wears sweat pants! reads books! likes candy!
what a rebel. 😒

4.5 pls I might love Cade as much as Cam 🤪
I knew this wasn’t gonna be a cute fluffy story but boy did I wanna hug Cade so bad 🥺🥺🥺🥺
The way he worked on himself and then decided the NHL wasn’t it? Had me done tbh had me done. And don’t even get me started on how he showed up literally at midnight for Haley 😻😻

I love a man who redeems himself but even more than that I love a hot dad and Cade turned out to be a 10/10 DILF tbh.

God just when you think this series can’t get better, Hannah Gray goes and gives us this book. 😭

I read hockey romances because normally they’re cheesy or just cute and fluffy and make me happy.

This was more, this was emotional and the way I just wanted to hug Cade. Ugh

I don’t normally love the one trope in this book but it was perfect here.
