Sterling Golden—Cocky football star. Rich Playboy with a secret. Guy I’d most like to throat-punch. The cherry on top? I’m stuck pretending to be this d-bag’s girl for the next few months.

When I spotted him sneaking out the Dean’s window—a woman whose reputation precedes her—I could’ve minded my business. But it’s not every day you catch your nemesis in such a compromising position, so I did what any self-respecting person would’ve done.

I added fuel to the scandal that ignited, then laughed while the cops hauled him off in nothing but handcuffs and his boxers.
Of course, the arrogant prick found a way to rope me into the lie that got him out of trouble. Which means the only way I come out of this unscathed is to go along with it, pretend we’re a thing.

Most girls would kill to be on the arm of a Golden triplet, but I’m counting down the days until it’s over. In public, we give the city the show they crave—a chance to witness their local bad boy falling in love. But when we’re alone, the gloves come off and we give each other hell.

Only, who knew exchanging insults and cruelty could feel a bit like… foreplay?

There’s an expiration date on this arrangement, but as we turn up the heat to convince our city this “relationship” is the real deal, Sterling and I sometimes forget that it isn’t. He might think his recent fall from grace was a disaster, but if he makes me regret this, I swear I’ll make his life a living hell.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice… your belongings might mysteriously catch fire.

Consider this your final warning, Mr. Silver, because it’s the only one you’ll get.

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙💚🖤❤️💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📒
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌏
Character development: ☺️🤬🥵😘🥰

The heroine: Lexi Rodriguez - Her father is a drunk that often makes promises and doesn’t follow through. This left Lexi with a feeling of abandonment and the belief that men will always disappoint her.

The Hero(s): Sterling Golden (a.k.a. Mr. Silver) - One of the Golden Triplets (the kings of Cypress Pointe). He is the silent one, not because he is shy but because he isn’t unnecessarily outspoken like his brothers West (King Midas) and Dane (Pretty Boy D).

The Story: When they were Freshmen, Lexi and Sterling were partners on a project and became friendly. Lexi had a huge crush on Sterling and was let down by him after she opened herself up to him. Since then she has pretty much ignored his existence until she finds him in a compromising position.

I read the first two books in this series Golden Boys and Never His Girl. I absolutely loved the “Gossip Girl” angle. I’ll admit to not watching the recent remake/redo of Gossip Girl but I have binged the original more than once. After the last book I guessed that Pandora was either Joss or possibly Sterling (these are total guesses and in no way spoilers). Midway through this book I am leaning toward Joss and Sterling seems out of the running completely. Though Like I said, I never read Joss and Dane’s book, Pretty Boy D so it is possible that Joss was taken out of the running in that book and I just don’t know it.

The chemistry between Sterling and Lexi was explosive and things between them heated up pretty fast. They start out in a classic fake relationship and it isn’t long before each starts to really feel things. There is friendship, jealousy, romance and more. There are also a few secrets just to make things more interesting, like what Sterling was doing at the Dean’s house on the night Lexi caught him leaving nearly naked. I really enjoyed every bit of this one.

The one thing I didn’t understand or maybe it was due to me not reading the last two books or forgetting some of the ones I did read. Or maybe I just missed a part of this book, was at the beginning when Lexi is thinking about the night of the Monster Bash four years ago, she said that was the night she met her best friend, Tequila. Then nothing is said about Tequila for the rest of the book.

Pandora isn’t the only supporting character that adds to this story. There are Sterling’s brothers, West and Dane, as well as their girls and Lexi’s best friend Dez who has a bunch of secrets of her own. Lexi’s stepfather Benny, her boss, her ex-boyfriend, a guy named Cole who Lexi put in his place, showing what a badass she is, and last but not least the triplets cousin Ricky Ruiz (a.k.a. SeXyBeAsT). I can’t wait until the next book to find out more about him.

Later, Peeps!

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

i think Rachel Jonas is redeeming herself😌

after Dane and Joss’ book flopped for me, then the conclusion of Blue’s trilogy being incredibly underwhelming... i had low expectations for this book. particularly Sterling.

The Golden Boys – slayed.
Never His Girl – slayed the house down.
Forever Golden – no comment.
Pretty Boy D – literally traumatising.
Mr. Silver – partially slayed.

when Penny told me this was going to be Sterling with Lexi, i was honestly trying to picture it and came up short every time. they seemed a random af, unlikely pair.

and they worked so well??

im a whore for a hot-heated heroine who spits venom, down for some sweet revenge and can be a little bit of a bitch (i mean... my pp is my fave bad bitch Hope Mikaelson... so you can tell i have a type).

so immediately, Lexi was right up my street.

description

having the heroine being the monumental fuck up, the bad girl, was refreshing. i mean, she broke a guys fingers bcos he groped her... i kinda want to be her when i grow up.

wow, i really do have a thing for violent heroines💀

i loved that she was just as possessive and jealous as Sterling— it’s usually always an overly possessive hero, so loved the slight change up. i think it stemmed from Lexi’s somewhat unhinged vibes that i just loved ahah. she was just a whirlwind of angry, vulnerability, pain, loneliness and she’s for sure one of my faves from this series, hands down. my top three would probably be Ricky, Blue then Lexi.

Sterling i was nervous about... in the previous books, he’s just kinda been there. think he spoke a total of four times and each time it was something creepy, misogynistic or just plain boring lmao. and the mess that was Joss and Dane’s book, i didn’t have the highest hopes for this book or Sterling.

but he surprised the fuck out of me. dare i say Sterling is the superior Golden triplet...? (i mean not that it takes much when West and Dane are your brothers). he was definitely the most fleshed out, most relatable and likeable brother, that’s for sure.

he was pretty sexy at times too. i was like “okay, sir. i see you👀”

Sterling leans closer, until his lips are to my ear, then my eyelids lower. He breathes against my skin, and he has me right where he wants me.
“Be completely naked when I get there, Rodriguez. You fucking hear me?”

description

other things i liked:

💋 their mishap/miscommunication/fall out from their past isnt dragged out the entire book which i appreciated. it’s cleared up at just the right time to allow them both to explore the tension and feelings growing between them with a clean slate.

💋 Lexi’s family issues were handled really well. her family weren’t the black and white villains, they just sometimes struggled to see eye to eye but you knew that they wholeheartedly loved her. it wasn’t drama for drama’s sake (like with Joss’ parents in the previous book), but it really added to Lexi’s character development and why she acts the way she does.

💋 also... this author knows how to write some sexy male side characters? first my main man, the loml Ricky Ruiz and now the swoon-worthy, hot-nerd vet Matt Logan?

description

the things i didn’t like so much:

💋 there were a few things i wasn’t entirely okay with which is why this isn’t a solid four star read— one being them having sex when Lexi was extremely vulnerable after having a mentally and emotionally exhausting day. idk... it never feels right when this occurs in romance bcos they don’t seem to be in the right frame of mind to have sex, in my opinion.

💋 also the consequences of their breakup felt really harsh. like it wasn’t just a breakup that could be pushed to the side, it had a real psychological impact on Lexi. like her trauma was, in a way, used as a way to break them up, solidifying to Lexi that she’s unloveable, that people will always leave her and that she’s not enough... it just felt too harsh.

yes there was a reason for their breakup, i understand that and understood Sterling’s thought process, but the impact it had on Lexi and her self-esteem, her self-worth was brushed aside far too nonchalantly. it wasn’t even explored, as though Sterling didn’t fully rip into her trauma lmao (whether he meant to or not).

💋 i wish the transition into their relationship had been a lil slower, a lil more drawn out. i was a tad underwhelmed and unsatisfied since these two had a lot of heat and intensity... so low-key wanted them to clash with it all, but instead their relationship is softer than i expected therefore there’s less resistance when they get together. which was a bit boring and anticlimactic.

now, Ricky baby, i am ready for you 🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️ 🧎‍♀️ if Blue was dumb enough to choose West over you, i am not. like i would let this man destroy me.

but if his heroine is gonna be who i think it is...

Mr. Silver is a fake dating romance book that I absolutely enjoyed reading! It was a quick read for me and I just really loved both characters. Sterling and Lexi have insane chemistry that reading their moments was so interesting and I didn’t want to stop reading!!

I enjoyed the push and pull aspect in this book because of the way both characters really go against their feelings but the more you read the more you understand why that is. Even given the past between them the moments they have together are explosive. Getting to know Lexi’s characters was honestly so exciting! I hardly read any characters that have a similar personality to her so it was really refreshing and intriguing.

Overall I really do recommend this book if you’re looking for some enemies-to-lovers with fake dating trope vibes! Sterling and Lexi are both intriguing characters that make you want to root for them to the end!

I loved this book! Actually, I have loved this whole series! Rachel Jonas is such an amazing storyteller, and this one is right up there as one of my favorites!

Sterling and Lexi ("Rodriguez") were so perfect for one another, and they didn't even know it at first. It had everything I love in a good book: Jealousy, angst, and drama (3 of my favorite things!). In a nutshell, this book is a must read, and is highly recommended with more than five stars!

At last our final triplet Sterling gets his HEA. I was so curious after the last book just what Sterling was up to, but turns out I was oh-so-wrong about what his love story would be and the secrets behind the glimpses we got of him. And turns out he needs the help of fiercy Lexi to get him out of a messy situation.

But Lexi has been hurt by Sterling- wounds that have healed but left scars. And she is not a fan of the charismatic Mr. Silver- and she didn’t quite agree to this fake dating situation. Until she realizes it might be mutually beneficial.

Our heroine Lexi took a minute to grow on me- I both related to her emotional erraticism as well as struggled to understand it. I felt for her, while I also felt upset at times by her decisions. But when we got to see the real and best of her, I really enjoyed her. She’s sassy and fierce underneath the chilly parts of her facade, and I did relate to some of her insecurities and how distant she keeps those even she cares about. She’s been burned, and Mr. Silver is part of that.

And Mr. Silver himself, Sterling, is just what you’d expect from a Golden Boy. He’s a bit arrogant, a bit alpha, and has that charismatic edge. Like his brothers before him, we learn there is much more to him than his popular persona- he’s had real burdens to bear, weights to carry. These Golden Boys always have their own secrets and challenges- and Sterling’s was quite unexpected.

Of course, the fake dating forces them to confront real feelings, and the act becomes more real than fake. I loved the book once we got into them leaning into their affections- the characters shined a bit more, and the steam was delicious. The angst was still pretty low overall- I usually prefer a bit more romantic tension, but I was so happy to see something healthy evolving and less of the animosity we got from them early on.

Another sweet, sassy, and drama-filled visit with the Golden Boys, their heroines, and the secrets. Cypress Pointe has been quite fun!

Star Rating : 4/5 Stars

Cliffhanger : None

Hero : Sterling

Heroine : Lexi

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 6/10

Heat Rating : 4/10

Plot Summary :
Lexi and Sterling once knew each other very well. They were on their way for an amazing relationship when Sterling ruined it all. He humiliated Lexi by mistake, making her not believe in love anymore. And thus started the cycle of hate and torture. Their hate and Animosity continued until one night Lexi caught Sterling climbing out of a teacher's balcony. To save himself Sterling wraps her up in the shit and now they have to act together to get their happy ending. Sterling her and fake dating might just be the one thing which convinces her to be with him.

Overall Opinion :
Sterling was one of the intriguing golden brothers so I was really excited for him! This author writes contemporary romance books with some amazing chemistry between the characters so yeah, I loved this one!

Sterling and Lexi don't have an easy past but seeing them move on from it and build back their relationship was amazing. That ending was soo emotional and I can't have enough of it. Sterling was everything I wanted and so much more. I just love reading about males with depth and he had that.

Definitely recommending this one to all the contemporary romance loving people out there!

I'm sad that concludes the Golden boys' stories, although there's other stories for the secondary characters. I recieved this ARC, my review is voluntary.

I've been waiting for this story since Pretty Boy D and have been very curious as Sterling was the least known brother. This was labeled as an enemies to lovers story. However, aside from a little drama stemming from a misunderstanding and miscommunication, the MCs weren't quite enemies.

Sterling - hot, rich, football hero and 1/3 of the Golden triplets. He was the perfect guy - hot, alpha, athletic, generous, thoughtful, empathetic, loving, kind with a touch of badboy.

Lexi- beautiful, hot tempered, damaged girl who protects her heart at all costs.

Lexi and Sterling are thrown together by circumstances beyond their control and forced into a fake relationship. Although the drama, angst, tension and push-pull was over too quickly for me, this couple was super sweet and are couple goals irl. They navigate their relationship with grace until a couple of wrenches are thrown into the mix.

Good story overall. I love Rachel's writing style. It kept my interest and flowed well. There was some funny banter from Lexi. Pandora was ever-present as always.

(audiobook) After his brothers’ stories, I was excited to see what the authors had in store for Sterling. Bully romance/enemies to lovers in the first book, friends to lovers for the second, and now we get a second chance romance with a touch of fake relationship. And it was delicious.

It had been hinted before that Sterling had a lot going on behind the scene, something that was mostly a joke for his family. Now we get his side of the story, and it’s way darker. Being hit on by an older woman could be seen as great and desirable. Except when she’s married, a long time friend of the family, someone of power in one’s life, and she’s manipulating and threatening one for sexual favors. Especially if it starts when one is a teenager.

I thought it was well done. Sterling is shown as a powerless young man, who doesn’t think anyone would help him. His predator is charming and professional in front of everyone else, making it impossible for Sterling to come forward–who would believe him? The whole ordeal shaped his relationship with Alexia in a way that’s explained later in the story. So basically, it isn’t just a plot device used for shock value, it’s part of the character’s arc, and even an important component of the love story.

The authors’ message is that the victim is never to blame. Alexia’s stepdad is the messenger–for that and other positive messages, like blood ties don’t determine a parent’s love for their children, that failing doesn’t make one less worthy of love. It doesn’t mean that he’s a goody two shoes. Tough love is love too.

It was very interesting that Sterling’s arc is at the center of the story, yet the book mostly revolves around Alexia’s family and personal troubles. The book is set smack in the middle of Sterling’s father’s trial, so he has no family to rely on during this hard time, and Alexia’s makes a good substitute. By watching their interactions, Sterling tries to help Alexia too. And Alexia’s stepdad is instrumental to Sterling’s revenge. The plot, though mostly dramatic and not action-driven, was intricate and well written.

As for the main trope, the fake relationship evolving into a real relationship, it wasn’t that bad. Of course, the fact that Alexia and Sterling are enemies at the beginning because of their past, makes it difficult to believe that there’s more than attraction and lust between them when it becomes something real. Thanks for their respective hang ups and the way they help each other, real feelings can happen in the end. Maybe they happen a bit too fast.

The narration wasn’t bad at all. Neither the male narrator nor the female narrator are really good with the other sex’s voice, but they do some believable emotions. They never lessen the impact of the story anyway, making the audio a good performance.

Quickie

- Series: Kings of Cypress Pointe #5 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #new adult romance #interracial romance #second chance romance #enemies to lovers #fake relationship
- Triggers: coercion by an adult in a position of power, parental neglect
- Main couple: Alexia Rodriguez & Sterling Golden
- Hotness: 4/5
- Romance: 4/5
- + I loved the emphasis on how Alexia’s stepdad loved her as much as his own children
- – it was well done, but Gina Harrison’s predatory attitude made me sick

The Golden Crew is back and this time we get a front row seat to Sterling and Lexi. And what a seat it is, Because these two took me on one heck of an emotional ride!

As 1/3 of the Golden triplets, Sterling already has a reputation. But in this story, we get to see the side that most people don’t. And oh what a beautiful side it is! Sterling has this incredible depth to him that you can’t help but smile, even in his cockiest moments.

And Lexi is his perfect counterpart. She might be a bit rough around the edges, but once we delve a litter deeper, she is an insanely beautiful soul.

I ❤️ Sterling and Lexi! Their romance is anything but conventional, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love how their relationship seems to naturally take hold of my heart and give me all the feels.

Rachel and Nikki wrote a winner!

By far my favourite story and couple of this series to date….
I was totally captivated by Sterling….what a wonderful character he is….and a total surprise!
Lexi is the perfect heroine of her own story and she owns it!
I couldn’t imagine a more perfect paring than these two. With a much more adult approach to both the writing and relationships the author has brought us something really brilliant in this enemies to lovers/ second chance/ fake relationship that totally captured my heart.
My chest ached for both Lexi and Sterling as we got to know their lives and heartbreaks. Touching on some series subjects of abandonment and abuse the author doesn’t shy away, but instead brings the stories to the fore.

Oh and some lovely little nuggets for what’s to come…..can’t wait for the next visit to Cypress Pointe…even though I’m sad to leave Sexi!!

YASSSS!!! I love a great fake relationship trope and Mr. Silver was done beautifully. Every book in this series has been incredible and I loved reading each triplet's love story. In this one, the focus is on Sterling Golden. We're re-introduced to Lexi and provided with a little of their history together. The jealousy and the angsty moments were soooo good! And Lexi? I LOVED HER! The no-nonsense, take no crap, not a doormat type of heroines are my fave, but she still had an extremely sensitive and vulnerable side that I think we could all relate to. Fantastic read!

Do you love fake dating, forced proximity, enemies who loathe each other, a feisty heroine who gives zero f’s what anyone thinks, and one Smexy smooth cocky football player? If the answer is yes grab your pom poms and meet me in the stands for this sexy, delicious, delectable, steamy read.

Sterling Golden the third triplet of the sexy trio the Kings of Cypress Pointe will have you swooning, melting, and panting 😮‍💨 over him. Lexi and Sterling are an inferno doused with gasoline with no way of stopping the flames from rising. The constant tug and pull filled with angsty lustful moments will make you burn along with them.

This a complete stand alone, but for the sake of the flow I would recommend reading all the books in order. The triplets are a force to be reckoned with and so so sexy. There will be lies, secrets, and a whole lot of drama with plenty of spice to add to the climax.

3.75/5 ⭐️
2.5/5 🌶

Tropes:
- high school setting
- enemies to lovers
- fake dating
- forced proximity
- feisty heroine x cocky football player
- slight second chance
- little bit of bullying
- gossip girl vibes

POV: first person - dual

Type: interconnected stand-alone (book five)

3rd act break ups always ruin it for especially when their is an obvious solution. Other than that, this was very entertaining.

Hero groveled and shockingly won me over. I expected to really dislike him but I got over it. If anything the heroine was a bit much at times but not bad overall.

I did receive an ARC for an honest review.
I have no spoilers here but you should read the previous 4 books to understand more.

I didnt know what to expect when I started reading Mr Silver. Sterling as well and Lexie seemed like an odd couple. There were not many interactions between them before and Sterling was still a quite plain one in the books of his brothers. It always seemed that Sterlin was a minor character, just one of the triplets. Lexie was Blues best friend, loyal and sometimes rule breaking.
So, I was curious how that book will be cause tbh my first reaction that these two are in this book was "really!?"
At the end it was so much more than that. Rachel Jonas & Nikke Thorne did not just only pulled it off, they made it absolutely believable and probably one of the best couples in this series.
It took the first 4 chapters and I was absolutely convinced that these 2 need to be together.

So, what is happening in this book. Sterling is in his usual escapade with the Dean. Lexie was just fired again. To be off the hook they strike an odd deal, to mimic a relationship for Cypress pointe. Having to fake a relationship when you absolute hate your fake boyfriend/girlfriend is not easy. Selling it to the public and Pandora is not easy aswell.
But the moments these 2 are letting their walls down and just be honest to each other... I fell in love with this couple again.
Slowly the characters change, they grow, become responsible. They are brave to confront their demons and let their walls fall.
Benny is probably one of the best characters in this book. He is a caring loving father who just shows that blood is sometimes not thicker than water. Having just lost a father like this to cancer, made me wish that these characters are the norm. We need more caring dads who actively engage in their children's lives.

I decided to give 4.5 stars because I think that the last 15% of the book needed something more. Some extra pages, an extra narrative, extra statement. It wasnt rushed at the end, I just felt that one or 2 more discussions might have been nice. But this is complaining on a high level and I would definetely recommend the books.

From the start, Sterling and Lexi's story immediately caught my attention. Especially when it's a throwback of what happened between them that made them nemesis. Then years later, Lexi saw Sterling in a compromising position and he was arrested for it. The only way for him to save himself was to fake a relationship with Lexi, even though they abhor the idea. Lexi has been trying to find the right place for herself and she saw that opportunity as a way to get her stepdad off her back. So of course, they have to sell it to everyone even though their friends know it's an unlikely arrangement. I guess there's a fine line between hate and love.

Both of their characters are very complex characters. They have their own issues and secrets. And once they cease the fire, I loved their open and honest talks. I loved how Sterling is so mature about his decision when the secret he was keeping was about to implode. You can definitely see how much they grow. I loved how Sterling is with his own family and also Lexi's. Sometimes their story is kind of sweet and sometimes, it's full of tension but also chemistry between these two.

ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW

Mr Silver was a great, fun read. After reading the previous books, I didn't think anyone could top West, but Sterling really hit the spot for me. He's a well-rounded character with a sincere personality that makes you wish he was real. He and Lexi have such a great back and forth, the book was entertaining throughout. The tension between them is undeniable, and Lexi is my favourite type of heroine. She's flawed, with a feisty flare that makes you root for her. I could not put this book down and finished it far too quickly as a result, but that's how good it was!

Thank you Rachel Jonas for another brilliant book.

Sterling and Lexi are fantastic characters and this book is action packed and emotional. I genuinely held my breath at times when things happened and wanted to run on and read but also take my time. These characters will shock you, make you smile, give you a hot flush and make you frustrated but above all they will have you rooting for them!!

I cannot wait to read more from this crew!

Between a father who has never been there for her and not wanting to follow in her sister’s footsteps Lexi is trying to find her place even if college didn’t work out and she has difficulty holding a job. The last thing she needs is to find herself in a pretend relationship with the boy who she crushed on in junior high who took part in one of the most humiliating experiences of her life.

Sterling is the star football player, comes from a wealthy family and can have any girl he wants. When he finds himself in a difficult situation, he convinces Lexi to come to his rescue and now two people who haven’t spoken for years find themselves in a pretend relationship that is starting to feel very real.

Lexi shows how resilient she is as whenever life knocks her down, she picks herself up while Sterling shows that with the right woman he is a man that any woman would be lucky to call her own. Hot chemistry and a few twists as not only do we get Lexi and Sterling’s story, but we get to catch up with the other characters we know and love. I thought that the narrators were a great choice for the characters and brought out all the emotion of the story. 🎧Audiobook Obsession

Saving the best Golden Boy for last!

Still waters run deep and that’s Sterling Golden in one sexy package! Lexi and Sterling have known each other since freshman year but have spent most of that time hating and avoiding each other.

With high school behind them, Lexi’s a bit lost and hasn’t been able to find her own path. Sterling is a football star and playboy in college. One whose found himself in a sticky situation that only Lexi can get him out of.

While reluctant fake dating is the only solution, these two can’t ignore their chemistry and growing attraction. Lexi and Sterling are my favourite couple of the series! The way they grow together is everything!! Reformed playboys and loner girls with slight temper issues apparently make the best couples. Download this one today!! Can’t wait for the next book-Sexy Beast is FINALLY telling his story!

Thanks to the authors for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Lexi Rodriguez has hated Sterling Golden since high school. After high school, Lexi’s life is going nowhere fast with failed jobs and her stepdad tells her she has to get her life together.

From the outside, Sterling’s life seems perfect, but it’s far from that. When he needs a cover story, he seeks Lexi out. Even though the two can’t stand one another they agree to fake date. As they try to convince their friends and the ever watching social media site Pandora that they are the real deal, they start to question how much of their fake relationship is an act.

This was such a great read! I had never read the Kings of Cypress Pointe series, but I found this world to be so fun! I will definitely be going back to read this series from the start!

Pandora reminded me of a Gossip Girl type, constantly blogging about the lives of Lexi, Sterling and their friends, so it was interesting to see how they played up their fake dating relationship to appeal to Pandora.

Both Lexi and Sterling were great characters. Lexi was such a strong, resilient woman who was not afraid to stand up for herself, including with dealing how Sterling treated her in the past. Sterling’s life seemed perfect, but he was dealing with so much. It was wonderful to see two strong characters let down their guards around one another.

This book is everything!
I was actually thinking Dez would be the next girl to lock down a golden. I was pleasantly surprised it was Lexi.

I love when two broken souls come together like this.
The entire story had me on pins and needles waiting for the "big secret" to be revealed.
Everything leading up to it was amazing.
So much sweet and the chemistry between them was explosive. Whether it was the years of built up tension finally coming to a head, or the years of feelings that were pushed under the rug that came back to life. Whatever it was. It was swoon worthy.
Sterling is rough around the edges but he spends so much time ensuring everyone else is happy and puts his own wants and future on the back burner only for it all to be brought forward by a secret and someone he never would have expected.

I absolutely loved their story, and can't wait for Ricky's!!

From the very beginning of this series, I never thought that one of the Golden siblings would replace top ranking of the other, but with each subsequent book it's happened. Sterling and Lexi have not only joined the ranks with the other Golden couples, their story has turned out to be one of my favorites.

Fake relationships AND enemies to lovers are two of my favorite tropes and Mr. Silver has both. Reading this fantastic book was like diving into my favorite foods. Once I start I can't stop, it's yummy and delicious, leaving me full and ultimately satisfied with that high feeling and always wanting more when I'm barely done. That was me reading this entire book. Start to finish, I couldn't put it down, laughing, sighing, and loving this couple through to the very last page.

Lexi Rodriguez is a total spitfire from the very beginning. She doesn't budge an inch allowing Sterling into her emotional circle. Does she use his situation to her advantage...oh yeah she does, which I absolutely adore about her. Lexi is no wallflower to the ultimate Golden boy of Cypress Pointe, but I also love that she softens along the way, allowing Sterling to view the sensitive woman underneath that tough exterior she always wears. That girl has all been but extinguished inside her and Sterling has the rare advantage to know the real Lexi without abusing that privilege.

Sterling finds himself in a pickle and the only person able to pull him out of it just so happens to be the one girl who hates his guts. Sterling and Lexi, frenemies at best, form a fake relationship to help Sterling out of said pickle and while on a good day these two hold their animosity at arms length at best, they now have to look like they are dating in the public eye. How will they ever pull this off?

Understanding, appreciation, and emotional support go a long way in building what was broken between them, and while neither was looking for something long term out of this fake relationship (they were honestly just hoping not to kill one another) things changed that neither one of them ever saw coming.

I think what I loved most of all is that neither one of them originally went into this fake relationship with nefarious plans set to destroy the other one, but as their relationship grew organically they also didn't run and hide.  Both Sterling and Lexi were a beautiful surprise to this fantastic series and like I said above, this book was like enjoying one of my favorite meals. Totally delicious!

Sterling Golden is the boy every girl wants, but can't hold onto... and the bane of her existence. They have a hurtful history that changed her in ways she never thought possible and made her a person she no longer recognizes. That turning point in her life drove a wedge between her and her parents, lead her to live a life she's not entirely happy with. But that's all about to change...

Mr. Silver is the story of two sworn enemies that find themselves tied to one another by one little lie. When Sterling gets caught doing something that he shouldn't have been, he decides the best course of action is to drag Lexi down with him. Telling the cops the truth wasn't an option, and he needed an excuse, so in that moment he thought his enemy Lexi seemed like the perfect person to help him sell his story. This one decision sends them on a journey that neither were ready for or fully knew how to deal with. But it also lead them to a place they never knew they needed...

I loved the story these two had to tell, it was dramatic, passionate, emotional and wickedly entertaining. Their heated battles, the emotional push and pull, the indecision - it was all so captivating! Highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it's pages will hold you hostage from beginning to end!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

I really enjoyed this installment. Even though I was in a bit of a slump, at no point did this feel like a slog.

What I Liked:
* Sterling! I think he was my favorite of the triplets. He was romantic and had me swooning.
* Lexi. I wasn't sure if I was going to like her in the very beginning. She seemed like she was going to be one of those heroines that are abrasive and rude to almost everyone as a defense mechanism. Not only was I wrong but after the first couple of chapters, I really adored her character.
* The family and friendship dynamics. I am one of those readers who craves a lot of characters so I can experience many different types of relationships beyond just the romantic one. I know I can count on this author to give me that.
* The pacing. The story progressed well and had a great balance between the plot and relationship development. I never had the urge to put the book down due to boredom.
* Pandora. I still found this plot element fun though I am still dying to know who it is!

What I Didn't Like
* I can't think of anything I actively disliked. This wasn't a 5* for me because I never had any intense moments of feeling or satisfaction but it was still a highly entertaining read.

I would absolutely recommend this book however I would encourage others to start with book 1 because knowing the characters adds a richness to the story.
