Thursdays in the Garden
Master Gardeners of Cuyahoga County work throughout the growing season on Thursday mornings at 10:00 in the demonstration gardens (Herb, Perennial, Vegetable) weather permitting. The public is free to visit, observe the demonstrations gardens, and ask the Master Gardeners questions.

Did you know?

Since 2013 Ben Franklin Community Garden has been zoned as Urban Garden District (Ord. 825-10 by [-then-] Council Member Brancatelli). Community gardens play an important role in creating healthier communities but they need support from local governments to be sustainable. Zoning determines what can/cannot be built and what activities can/cannot take place on a parcel. Adopting land use policies such as "Urban Garden District" is one way our city protects and supports BFCG.

Thanks to everyone who made Mai Tag 2024 a fun community event! We sure served up some good brews! The weather? Pfft. One attendee commented that he thought it added to it as during the couple of showers we huddled together and struck up good conversations! That's the spirit! Prost!

Thanks to Schnitz Ale Brewery for partnering with us (to our benefit!) and for rounding up the terrific batch of local brewers: Blue Monkey Brewing Co., Brick & Barrel Brewing, Broadview Brewing Co., Forest City Brewery, Four Paws Brewing Co., Planted Flag Brewing, Working Class Brewery. Thanks to each one and also to all the volunteers.

It takes a little "green" to keep us growing.
Please make this your GIVING SEASON to help our GROWING SEASON!

Please consider contributing to the stewardship and preservation of this one-of-a-kind eco-friendly urban space. We receive some funding, but we must also reach into our own pockets to keep the Garden viable. Contributions help with expenses such as equipment, soil improvement, and grounds upkeep.
