REMINDER: Help keep Unite growing!
With 2024 elections approaching, cynical attempts to bring library books into the culture wars and generate fear-based voter engagement will likely continue. We need Writers & Publishers Network's support more than ever to combat book banning. Please use the tools below to support our year-end friendraising efforts.

Dear Kathleen,

During this season of giving, we ask you and your colleagues at Writers & Publishers Network to help Unite achieve our top non-financial goal: friendraising!

Unite more than doubled the number of individual supporters in 2023. We need your help to expand our ability to fight for the freedom to read. When you ask your constituents to join Unite, you ensure that the campaign can alert and activate communities across the country when their libraries and schools confront challenges. Everything you need to make that ask is below.

This has been yet another record-breaking year for book bans, especially books by or about members of marginalized communities. Libraries are being defunded, and library workers and educators are being harassed, fired, forced to resign, or threatened with imprisonment for doing their jobs. The challenges to our First Amendment rights are unabating, so our efforts to combat them must be, too.

With thanks for all you do,

The Unite Against Book Bans Team
