This morning, the House Oversight Committee held a markup of the so-called “BIOSECURE Act,” legislation which would prohibit Federal contracting, loans, or grants flowing to #biotechnology providers connected to #China with arguable ties to the Chinese military. The legislation was sponsored by former Select China Committee Chairman Rep. Mike Gallagher who retired from Congress earlier this year, as well as Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi and current Committee Chairman John Moolenaar. Keep reading: https://lnkd.in/e9DZvARW

For the last year, ACG Analytics has hesitated to predict the outcome of the 2024 Presidential election, citing the possibility of 3rd-party candidates to change the outcome in the contest. ACG Analytics has, however, predicted a Biden re-elect. Now, there is greater certainty: while 3rd-party candidates could still change the outcome in several critical swing states, we have essentially a 2-man race: Presidents Trump and Biden squaring off again as in 2020. ACG Analytics reposted this
As I end my Junior year and head into the summer, I am looking forward to continuing to develop my personal and career goals. I have been awarded the opportunity to join the National Italian American Foundation on the #VoyageofDiscovery Session 1, an educational trip in Northern Italy to connect with, learn from, and serve the local communities. After my return, I will be re-joining ACG Analytics in DC for the summer. I am looking forward to continuing to learn from the talented team while researching all things defense, energy, trade, AI, Crypto, FinTech, EU, China and LATAM. For my senior year at Colorado College, I will be finishing up my last courses, and looking towards what comes after. I will be working all year with the U.S. Department of State as an intern for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, gaining critical exposure to the intelligence and national security community. Tangentially, I will be applying to J.D. programs for Fall 2025, with a specialization somewhere within the Transactional Law field. I have yet to hone in on what specific sector I would like to focus on in my post-grad work - my current interests still include national security & intelligence, defense, real estate, political economy, investment management, foreign affairs, international relations, conflict resolution, and law. I am looking to connect with any professionals or current students within those fields to discuss with and learn from! The after college question is closing in quick, and I would be grateful for any guidance.

There is bipartisan support for moving #trade bills, including reauthorization of the lapsed Generalized System of Preferences (#GSP), and amending de minimis exemption rules. House #Republicans have not made the necessary overtures to make that happen. Continue reading: https://lnkd.in/eCd_qwhU
