During the night after Election Day 2020, Republican Trump was leading in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Yet during the days that followed, large numbers of mail-in and messenger ballots were counted. As a result, Democrat Biden took the lead and won those states. Trump supporters were shocked and angry. They cried "Stolen Election!" However, that pattern had been normal in local elections in and around Atlantic City, NJ for 20 years. That was because in political organizer Craig Callaway perfected legal methods to use absentee, messenger, and mail-in ballots to maximize voter turnout for the candidates he and his family supported. Because it often took days to examine signatures, open, and count those paper ballots, it was common for losers on the night after Election Day to become winners days or even weeks later. Although Callaway admits that in-person voting on one Election Day is the best way to minimize cheating, intimidation and manipulation, he said "the genie is out of the bottle" and that "the system is not likely to change in our lifetime".
