Hi there,

Femke here from SPPP (Studio PIX+ Prints).
I am your host for this April challenge and beware cause it's gonna be quite a messy challenge...

First, I would like to tell you something
As our son got older, I had lost my purpose for scrapping. My inspiration became less and I noticed that I was not enjoying scrapbook anymore.... That made me sad, yet also motivated me to look for a way to enjoy scrapbook again. I took elements and papers from all of my products (PU to CU) and turned them into personal scrapbook pages about my (inner) life. I asked myself simple questions like "What do I actually like?" and "What do I really love to do?" Through this, I discovered that scrapbook is a great way to get to know yourself better and therefore lends itself very well to adult topics. Scrapbook can also be a very good tool for expressing feelings and emotions. The last reason is my assignment to you: You are going to create a expressive layout with one (big) messy cluster incl. 2 or more photo's...

Here are the rules:
- Try to express a feeling
- You may use (as background) only 1 (not noisy) background paper (not more!)
- You have to use use at least 1 photo frame and at least 2 photo's
- You are not allowed to work with templates
- This are the elements you must use in your design: thread, textstrip, paperpiece/snippet, staple, label, tape. The rest of the elements is entirely up to you

I feel like a very strict school teacher, lol

Here is my sample layout:

I have used - for the biggest part - the SPPP Find Your Way page kit for this page and recolored some items.
The whole month of April this page kit is on sale and instead of $ 8.35 it costs only $ 4.99 With this product and some extra elements I've added, you'll have everything on the element list included in this pagekit.

  2. You may use retired product if it was retired from PBP in the last three months. The retired product can only account for the 25% “non-current” PBP Designs.
  3. Upload your layouts to the PBP Gallery (be sure to select PBP Team Challenges as one of the additional categories that you add your layout to.
  4. Link your layout in this thread to your gallery layout
Make a post in this month’s tracking thread for all of your challenges.

How nice to see you here Maaike! I really appreciate you taking the time to participate :) I love your artsy/messy scrap- and design style :inlove: . Your page is gorgeous, I'm a big fan of mixing things up and combining goodies from different kits. The photos are great and complement the elements and background well. You did an amazing job!

Wow Véronique, your page looks :inlove: amazing! As a designer, I love it so much to see what is made with the objects I have designed. It is often very surprising and even more beautiful than I can imagine! I love the messy cluster with stitch, scribble and thread. Your photo and the cartoon version in the frame (yours?) are very nicely done. I love the message and the way you incorporated it into your page. Very well done! And thank you so much for participating!

Thank you so much for your participation! I love your :inlove:gorgeous page! You have done a wonderful job! Your photos are vibrant and happy, I love the "family time" theme. You placed the scribbles, staples and threads perfectly. It looks lovely and messy, but not chaotic. Even if you make something messy, it should still be pleasant to look at and you have managed that very well. Beautiful work!

Thank you Femke for the challenge, a little different to what I have normally done but I had some fun giving it a go. Everything is from Find Your Way – word strip – Both Sides – Photo – mine – Font – Lazy Day

Mine is messy for me, but maybe not for others. I generally don't do messy (in scrapbooking at least). ;)

It is beautiful :inlove:@Macsandy, I love the shabby background paper combined with the beautiful cluster, the lace border and the messy yarn. The contrast in your work is what I enjoy even more than your gorgeous work. It is the deeper layer, the messiness of your page is for me like a stormy sea contrasting with your beautiful pictures of the calm water and the Bible combined with the message about inner peace. I love it!

Wow Sandy, I love your gorgeous :inlove: page! I saw that you watched the video earlier on Facebook. How good of you! Love to see that you have used a mix of elements from different collections to create this beautiful messy page. I'm a big fan of mashups. Does DD mean Dear Daughter? If so, how is your daughter doing?

Yes it is my daughter. She had a softball size cyst removed with one of her ovaries. She is back to work now and gradually regaining her strength. Thanks for asking and for your sweet comments.
