    Well if the emotional roller coaster of the first book wasn't enough , this one definitely ripped my heart out and put it back together again. The road to forgiveness and healing is long. It takes time and hard work and seeing both Sky and Noah talk to one another made my heart ache. Nevertheless this was a gorgeous ending to this duet and I love how it not only made me fall in love with our MCs but with Curt as well. I'm so glad I picked this book up.

That’s not to say, that I didn’t shed a fair few years and I’m not usually one to cry at books but my heart was breaking reading parts. If you love an emotional angsty romance than you need to read this duet. Noah is perfect book boyfriend material and seeing another side to him, how he is just as devoted to skylar years on, you’ll love him even more. It’s a really enjoyable read

    After ARC reading The Boy I Once Hated, I preordered The Girl I Once Loved as soon as I was able to. Skylar and Noah have been living rent free in my head as I anxiously awaited this book and it did not disappoint!!!

    This book brought out so many emotions and really got me in the feels. It was set quite a few years on from the 1st book, when Skylar found herself back on the island for her sister's wedding. As a side note, I would love to read more about Daisy and Derek in their own book ladies 🤞💜

    Skylar and Noah's story was one of an amazing and deep love. A heart wrenching love. It encompassed loss, suffering, drama and such emotional angst and self sacrifice. Noah really did have a lot of work to do to redeem himself. Not only with Skylar, but because of the domini effect it had on Skylar's relationship with her mum after moving to the mainland for college. He really did sacrifice his own happiness for Skylar in doing what he thought was best for her future. I was totally invested in their incredible love story and feel at peace now after their tumultuous journey to their HEA.

    If you like fast paced, dual POV's, heartbreak, angst, drama, emotions and trauma don't hesitate to dive between its delicious and emotive silky pages. I highly recommend it 🖤

    Having been a while since book 1 came out, I did a quick re-read and was reminded how much I loved Noah and Skylar in The Boy I Once Hated. Their complicated relationship, together with the way it ended on that cliffhanger had me hooked.

    Noah was very different in this one which I understand given how much time had passed. But the traits and actions which made him ‘him’ had vanished completely. His intensity, both when he was being cruel and when he doted on Skylar wasn’t there anymore. Skylar’s heartbreak and issues were written well. Her struggle through to the truth, then wrestling with how to come back from it was emotional at times.

    I found myself wishing we knew more about Daisy and Derrick’s story though, they were great secondary characters. The Girl I Once Loved didn’t have the magic the first book had for me. At times pacing was a bit slow, and there were some predictable elements, but I enjoyed the story. It had more of a ‘romantic’ vibe than the previous ‘bully romance’ book which is perhaps why it felt different. I was happy they worked things out and got their HEA.

    This is book 2 in the duet and I immediately jumped into it at 3 am after finishing "the boy I once hated". Skylar and Noah's journey was not easy and was full of sacrifice, heartache and anger. Noah loved her so much he let her go so she could fulfill her dreams but hurt both of them. For 7 years they were apart but only thought of each other. This book had me crying , angry and swooning all at the same time! I loved this book! If you're looking for something that will keep you hooked while alps shedding a few tears, this is the book! Now that this one is finished I'm on to the NEXT C.R.JANE book. I can't get enough!
