Michelin guide did not disappoint with this restaurant. With two separate seating areas, one darker with a moodier setting and the other with a light and more elegant setting. From the excellent service always available to the incredible presentation and flavour of food, I can highly recommend this restaurant.Google Review
Japanese Sharing Plates, Cooked Over Fire
Robun is a celebration of authentic Japanese food and drink.
We specialise in a modern take on Yakiniku – the art of grilling meat, seafood and vegetables over a traditional robata charcoal fire. Our menu also incorporates sushi and sashimi, tempura, gyoza and bao buns.
This is all served alongside an unparalleled list of sake, Japanese whisky and cocktails.
Set in the heart of Bath, Robun offers a casual yet refined environment to share freshly prepared small plates and pairings.
KANAGAKI ROBUN
Our restaurant is a tribute to Japanese author, Kanagaki Robun, who wrote the seminal book, Seiyō ryōritsū in 1872. The book took inspiration from Western barbecue and introduced the concept of Yakiniku to Japan. A man of many talents, Robun also collaborated to create Japan’s first ever manga magazine. The hand-painted murals on our walls are a further nod to the enduring influence of his work.
