Hi and Welcome to the Photo Title Challenge.
My name is Gina and I am hosting it.
Can't believe it is October now...
But let's start.
Find a photo of your choice - width min. 3600 pixels
Find a short word that fits your photo.
In my case it's FALL.
Write this word in black on your background paper
(the paper shouldn't be too patterned - a solid color is probably best).
Use a large, wide font for this. I used the font "a Big Deal".
You can find fonts here, for example: https://www.1001fonts.com/
Now enlarge the word so that it fills the entire width of your layout.
(the font must touch the edge)
Open your photo and insert it above the font.
On the photo layer, select Layers -> Create Clipping Mask in the menu bar. Easy, right?
Optional: If you like it, you can add a small Drop Shadow to your title.
Now activate your background layer and create a new layer.
Use your Rectangular Marquee Tool to create a rectangle that encloses the entire title.
Fill the selection with white and lower the opacity to 60%.
Leave the selection as it is.
Make a copy of your photo and move it above the white layer in the layer manager.
Select -> All, Select -> Inverse - hit the delete key on your key board.
Lower the opacity to 40%.
Now you can deselect.
So why this white layer?
If you use a patterned paper and you lower the opacity
of the photo layer you can see the pattern - like this....
With the white layer you can prevent this a little or even completely.
Add a cluster that touches the top or bottom of your title.
Don't add another photo. The focus is your photo title.
Templates are not allowed.
